One of my most loved series. Kyra Sedgewick made her character so personal to the audience. Excellent writing, casting, and performances. Not to be forgotten.
One of the BEST police/detective tv shows that the movie industry has created.

Brenda i.e. Kyra Sedgwick is so super fantastic with her character and her own personal character that she just naturally outshines all those around her. She is an amazing actress and I'm sure an equally amazing person. What a beautiful soul she is and what a beautiful gift this show was and still is. I only discovered it for the first time about a year ago. Just love it so much had to buy it in Apple Tv- all 7 seasons! Kyra Sedgwick you rock on sexy lady!
I will forever miss Chief Johnson. I really cannot wait for the day Kyra will be in Major Crimes for a special. Seriously!

This was one of my favorite shows, it was sad to see it end but the entire cast lead by the phenomenal Kira Sedgwick was awesome. 👍

I absolutely love this show and how it celebrated strong women in leadership roles. The transition into Major Crimes was great. I miss both shows very much. I am glad that Lifetime shows The Closer daily. I am on summer break and will fix my schedule to make sure I watch 3 hours back to back. 💜👊

Best show ever! I’ve recorded ever show but everyone has their favorite. Mine is ‘A Family Affair’! The death Sedona is heartbreaking but watching Det Sanchez interact with the Mother brought me to tears. Then, here comes his brother’s death which brought me to tears & of course Brenda’s Mana’s death is gut wrenching. Death is something we can all relate to but it takes special acting for us to feel the connection. You did it over & over again. I cried in so many episodes but Sedona broke my heart into a million pieces. I can see Raymond’s eyes looking at her Mother when she says, ‘you knew didn’t you? She wasn’t taking drugs or something to that effect. His eyes say it all. He agrees. He knew. That moment is one in a million. I love each character & each actor. You’re all fantastic and so very talented. I’m so sad not to have any new episodes of ALL of you again. I miss you all. GW keep them straight, Brenda, I love your Mama & Daddy and you were so convincing they’ll always be your parents to me.. I’m with you loving the chocolate as there’s nothing better, I want my own Fritz since you have Kevin. And, Andy, you’re just handsome and witty. David, you’re so polished & always Abercrombie yum, Tao, you’re grounded, the smartest of the team that’s so easy to love & so methodical, Buzz, you’ve convinced me you’re the Tech guy...please help me! Det Sanchez, you have my heart & you’ll always be my secret crush as your eyes are the windows to the soul. Thank you for everything and every moment I spent with you was special time for me. I Love you all. 💕
Watch episode 4 of season 1 and then tell me you like this show . She is a sociopathic cop who does absolutely anything to "close ' her case . Here she blackmails a desperate mother by threatening to send her autistic son to an abusive foster family . Thus ruining their lives , mom in jail for having her bad father husband killed and her poor son in a home for disabled without both his mom and dad and absolute not alle to cope with any changes at all . But she won . Coodo's for Brenda hope she can't sleep from lying awake at night , thinking how she broke up this poor Kids life .

I wish the closer could come back and knowing how Brenda and Fritz stay married and while Fritz was on the show major crimes did Brenda have a job living with Fritz. They were a great couple together. I also wish on the last episodes of major crimes when Stroh gets shot and Fritz mentioned to Rusty who Brenda helped at the very beginning on the other show The closer,that on major crimes Fritz says, “how relieve or proud” Brenda was to be proud of Rusty. I think that is what he said like that. I also wish Brenda could of came on the Major Crimes and smile at the Rusty to let him know how proud she is that his life changed for the better, and have Brenda acknowledge Sharon thanking her for adopting him. Even though Sharon dies at the end it would be nice if both Brenda comes back as the closer in twinging with the show bringing back actors and actresses from both act together on investigations together. That would be awesome😆who she saved before Sharon took over to help Rusty

I 😍😍😍 the Closer. I'm still watching the re-run. Only one character I don't like, captain Raider. Thanks God , Rusty show up in almost the end of the show. Major Crimes was not really good for me, because Rayder, and of course Rusty to much. The Closer is the best ever

I know Kyra Sedgwick ended "The Closer" and that "Major Crimes" carried on the characters and added some new ones. I've seen many episodes of both shows. But what I can't find is how they ended the Brenda Leigh Johnson character. I know Fritz stayed, so they didn't ride off into the sunset. How did they explain Brenda's disappearance?
She was appointed to chief of the District Attorney's office, and she took detective Gabriel with her.

My favorite crime show by far and Brenda is my favorite tv character. I wish there were new episodes of Brenda and her big purse and drawer full of ho ho's but I still watch all 7 seasons over and over!

Great show. Serious, yet lots of humorous scenes. Well acted. Robert Gossett, I loved to hate you. I knew, experienced and was the victim of Captain Taylor types in my time in law enforcement. You were outstanding. Kyra, your tongue in cheek portrayal of Brenda was sometimes so hilarious that my wife and I laughed out loud watching. Mary McDonnell had the Internal Affairs role of Captain Raydor's attitude down pat. The only thing out of place in the show was the amount of love scenes and male attractiveness shown toward Deputy Chief Johnson as if she was and was played by some super hot young Hollywood starlet. Kyra is not an ugly old skank but only Kevin Bacon thinks she is so beautiful that so many times in the show they have to show men coming on to her. I also liked James Avery's portrayal of Dr. Crippen. In conclusion let me note that in keeping with Hollywood mandated political correctness the show was not all Lilly white but had a number of ethnic minorities - Black, Hispanic, Asian, I was looking for Eskimos and American Indians but they were probably cameramen or directors. That's right. I said American Indian and not Native American. I'm not now, never have been, and never will be politically correct.
Such a nice compliment to only turn around and insult. A little advice. Not everyone has the same taste in appearance and personality. I’d feel rather hurt if I were kyra reading this. You may have felt that all the men attracted to her was out of place but I thought it was certainly appropriate. She’s hit as fuck. Smart. Strong. Fierce. Awesome body and her hair!!! And those dimples and her corky personality AND maturity is what drew all the men in. And in mho, they did not make enough love scenes. I lived for those. Not everyone is into that young hot Hollywood look you speak of.
All the actors were great and made great contributions.
Never heard of it. I guess they should figure out another way to reach their audience besides paid tv.

The only thing....the ONLY thing that annoyed me about this show was the noisy kissing of Brenda Leigh and Fritz...really that's it!!!! Right now I'm binge-watching.....again in 2020 *Hahahaha* I really miss this show though.

Once and for all . Not one of all the cases in all the episodes of all the crime shows would even make it to court . Suspects of crime should have a lawyer present at their interrogation . If not present cases will be thrown out of court .. A confession alone is not enough for a conviction . If police men have such a strong opinieonderzoek bout what's right and wrong should not do things he brings others. to justice for . So Gibbs killing the murderer of his family , letting his former mother in law escape conviction by meddling with the evidence and Bisshop leaving Chin handcuffed to apower station and forcing him to commit suïcide . They are the heroes and should not do the things they bring others to justice for .They tell everybody what is the right way and as soon as it concerns themselves or their loved ones forget all and do exacte those things . Hypocrits all of those so called heroes .
I Just discovered this show . I collect tv shows on dvd . This one is confusing . A lot of unsympathetic cops who hate Breda from the git go . And I agree . She is called the closer like a release pitcher who closes the base ball match after the no 1 pitcher has thrown 7 or 8 innings . And she is completely ruthless . Just saw episode 4 of season 1 and here she catches a mom who had her ex husband murdered cause he was a bad father to their autistic son . A real horror.e man who's rigide believes made the boys life a living hell . By threatening her wjth setting her son to a foster family with addict children . She is an obsessive bitch and I really hate her chaotic one track mind. She only cares bout winning her stupid cases . By solving this " crime" she ruined the lives of a mother that protected her autistic son and that son who will have to live in a home without his mom . I have four more seasons of the Closer and am not looking forward to watch them .
