- This is the 2nd review I’ve done of my Nissan Maxima SV after owning the car for 3 years. Things I like and don’t like about the car and what has grown on me with the car.

They are good cars I changed my motor at 220k alternator at 150k and 215k. I started driving it at 135k still on the road. Much peace and blessings.
Why did you change your motor? Mine has 240k miles and the only problem I've ever had was to replace alternator. Bought it with 26k miles 6 years ago
@@boomerak4774 I have a quick question? How often did you drive with high rpms? I barely got 118k miles and bought it like that 2days ago. It’s perfectly fine just needs new tires

Great vid. I have a 2014 Maxima SV but with 20in wheels and a black mesh grill being the Pearl white color that I bought from the dealership. I only added a catback system with 1 exhaust with y piping to the dual black steel tips for custom. Definitely got alot compliments and the sound. The Bose system does rock. Love this car, it's a beast.

If you are wondering about the CVT. My personal experience as 2007 Nissan Maxima owner here for 14 years, I'm almost at 200k miles.
Don't drive like an asshole on the road. Read the manual and keep up with the maintenance.
Maxima will last.
Bro i got a question, i got a 2011 maxima and idk if some of the past owners do the maintenance to the cvt, and I was wondering to do it but i see a couple of comments that say to don't change it because it's going to ruin the transmission, so idk what to do, it have 150k miles
@@irvingmadrigal4833Well I’m late, but if the transmission fluid has been changed before then you can change it. If the transmission fluid has never been changed, then don’t change it because it can ruin it.

@@user-fk8qo4wz7y After doing my research, I’ve come across mechanics that say that. Once it’s past 100k, don’t change it because it’s too risky.

I love mines had it for 3 years... Sound system is all that!! Lol also to roll your windows down while not in it hold down your unlock button for about 4 seconds!! Love that

I have a 2009 model and I absolutely love it
I have the exact one in grey and it’s a 2012. I’ve had mine for almost a year and I love it so far I’ve had no issues besides my AC compressor going out but I got that replaced
Bought me a 2014 Maxima with 86,000 miles 3 years ago. I have 116,000 miles on it now. Use it to cruise Only on weekends. Exactly like yours. Black, silver chrome. So far I've only had to do spark plugs and high pressure power steering hose. It's a beautiful car!!
Debating if I want to sell it. I bearly drive it cause I have 2 other rides .. 7th Generation too...

I just moved from Chicago to LA and drove it all the way here and it handled better than any car I’ve had so far! It’s basically a 4 door 350Z
how much does it takes to fill up your tank?
I have a 2016 maxima It cost me around $80-$85 on a completely empty tank it’s an 18.5 gallon tank And around my area I pay anywhere from $4.0 - $4.6 a gallon I had to drive 60 miles to do some Business And then 60 miles back I get 28.6 miles to the gallon and 475 mile range
I just got a 2012 And man, this car NEEDS a stick!
For real! The sport mode/paddle shifters are cool but a stick would amazing

Not sure what everyone says but if they say CVT’s are dope and much more responsive than a regular trans than YES!
I have one and actually love the CVT. I don't know why some reviewers don't like it.
SMG 2040 the CVT is troubled after or near 100,000 miles and you really can't get down on it too hard or the internal belt will strip and you will be buying another transmission or trade for another car... I drive by a lot of used and new car dealerships and I see clean MAXIMAS with CVT for sale🤷🏾♂️.... these are from 2009-present... MAXIMAS like my 2004-2006 are ON the road.. my 04 max has 307,000 miles 5 speed automatic with no drains... flushes... or slipping💪🏾

When do you change your CVT trans fluid?
When I took it to a mechanic they said I should around change it around 110,000 miles so prob soon for me. It looked fine when they checked it though

That’s what I’ve been trying to figure out.
You really don’t fix them. Just replace. But the talk around them are internet hype. There were issues back in earlier years and they weren’t even the maxima. It was in the rogue and Sentra mated to 4cyl.

does it sound the same out of sport mode?

Lmao, bro, your paddle shifters don't do anything cause the car uses a CVT transmission. There are no gears to shift. Since it's a CVT, the engine changes the ratio of RPMs to the speeds automatically and without you feeling it. Your downshifting and upshifting doesn't do anything. Not even if you moved the stick to manual from drive or maybe even sequential if you have it but I don't think it does.
Exactly but yes you do actually feel the “shifts” I understand the concept completely but Nissan does do something to make you feel a little something when you use them

How many Miles per gallon do you get now after all these years?
When I’m driving it like an animal around 20mpg but if I’m easy on the gas about 26mpg
I get about 18 mpg.
Im getting 16.2... on premium

Or maybe shows that you are just another bandwagon cvt hater. I have a 2012 Maxima 115k no issues at all w regular maintenance. I've had quite a few traditional automatics die on me in my 30 years of driving.
You sound dumb if one thing I say makes you assume my intelligence on a whole broad topic. I enjoy the CVT because it is one continuous motion of power, no lags, no shifts and simply because most people don’t have one or understand what it is and why it doesn’t shift as a traditional trans would. It’s worked great for me so far hence my opinion in saying “CVT’s are dope”

@@j.r5064 Welp, u probably took shitty care of your car. I drove my 2009 like a mad man, purposely trying to see if the cvt would give me problems and It didn’t give me one. So I know your comment is probably a lie. I have 2014 now with 145,000k miles on it and guess what, NO PROBLEMS..
