  • I struggled through some landscape photography in Australia on today's vlog. I think I saved it with a selfie of all things.
    My Instagram: bit.ly/BvSInsta
    My Camera Gear: bit.ly/BvSGear
    On today's photo vlog, I headed to Lancelin for some landscape photography at the white sand dunes. Arriving in the dark, and never having scouted the location, I struggled to find a good composition. I really struggled to show the scale of the dunes. So, I tried to safe it with a selfie.
    So often in landscape photography if you're looking to add scale, putting a person in the frame can really help. Yeah, a bit of a selfie from Australia.

      Maxence Lemoine congrats and enjoy your NiSi filters. FYI while the filter holder ring is 82mm, the holder set comes with step-up adapters to fit 67mm, 72mm and 77mm lenses. So it should fit most lenses you have for a FF or APS-C body.

    The skies looked perfect for that sunrise! Self portraits can definitely add to a photo. I've done that a couple times in the past several months to add a little flavor to the photo! The photos turned out well!

    Brendan, I love following your video blogs. As a Perth local it was interesting to see your take on the Crawley boat house and Lancelin sand dunes. If you are ever in Perth you should try some of the sunsets over the water in several locations around Perth. there are some interesting rock formations that make for a great shot.

    Hey awesome work mate, they are a challenging subject to shoot at the best of times but to get there in the dark having never been there before, amazing buddy. So disappointed I couldn't make it. If you get down here again, let my know and I'll take you out the experience some fantastic parts of Western Australia, cheers! 👍

    Awesome spot isn’t it! Challenging though. There’s some more dunes further north that have much less traffic... I might have even done a cheeky vlog or two myself there 😉 Hope you’re enjoying (enjoyed?) Perth.

    I see you testing out the NiSi filters. You use ND's a lot. Have you tried the Canon RF adapter with the variable ND filter? It goes from 1.5 to 9 stops (via a wheel). And because it's an adapter, you'd never have to change it out. I think it would simply/ease your work flow in that you can just focus on your NiSi grads. I can't attest to the quality as i don't own one.

    • @BrendanvanSon
      @BrendanvanSon  5 років тому

      I haven't tested it. Frankly, I was scared away by the terrible reviews it's getting. And, I'm getting rf lenses soon.
      Shame too, as it looked like an awesome solution

    • @45Supergun
      @45Supergun 5 років тому

      @@BrendanvanSon Well, all I can say about "terrible reviews" is that, if I believed them, I wouldn't own an RP (like you)--which I think is great. The only true way to know (just about anything) is through personal experience, but @ $399.00...that's not a cheap, "roll of the dice." I think your images with RF lenses will be amazing!
