Nothing really disturbed me in ds3, even though everything is creepy and sometimes horrifying, but this was beyound disturbing
I have done the absolute opposite, meaning I played DS1, didnt finish DS2 and didnt play or DS3, although I'm finally at least looking into it. Gwyndolin's fate is one of the most horrible, having known him, he didnt have the happiest story around, god or not.
I think to wrap the in-game lore up they should've made Aldrich drop the Soul of Gwyndolin aswell. From there you could either give it to Yorshka, perhaps for a specific reward or some form of resurrection? Or take it to Ludleth for the Darkmoon items from DS1.
Using Gwyndolin to attack the player aside, I was a bit disappointed with how Aldrich turned out. The CGI cutscene makes him out to be a giant amorphous man-eating... thing and when you get to fight him, yes, he's still amorphous but he's so... defined. He looks like a turd with a beautiful trap attached onto it. I think we're meant to assume that the goo on the floor is part of him but it's so flat! It's not conveyed very well.
It's really hard to tell, another question would be: Can the goo hurt us? Or does Aldrich need a Body to hurt us? I mean, I see some ways to kill us with his goo fluids... but he didn't even try to slow us with it in the boss fight (which would be interesting, too, think about the boatfight in DS2, when the water continued to slow you more and more). Another point is the goo around the building is or was that part of "Aldrich" and he left it behind or is he surrounded by goo and got a "hard mass" which is this wormthing?
*I wish that the 2nd phase was something like Aldrich spitting or swallowing Gwyndolin and then we got to fight the real Aldrich as a giant man-eating thing trying to eat us.* i.pinimg.com/originals/03/9a/c1/039ac1e51ffe122adfe1f025d32246e2.jpg i.pinimg.com/1200x/2d/42/1f/2d421fe1f4968177f233a54ef84e0d61.jpg
Gwyndolin being the last God in Anor Londo was held captive by the Pontiff Sullivan to wait a painful and slow death by Aldrich the Devour of Gods explains why he was a tail made out of goop and bones
Hang on if Gwyndolin was fully dead, why are we still hearing these sounds? The idle, attack and death sounds all give off an impression that something is still going on in Gwyndolins head. The sounds he makes are akin to a zombie or a person on the very brink of death.
+Crestfallen That is one option, although I doubt Aldrich needs to breath in the first place, since he's just a mess of goo and bones. How would he even control how Gwyndolin breathes, he's digesting him not inhabiting his body. It's kind of like a sock puppet at this point. Also how are you doing this? Is this type of mode only available on PC? I've been wanting to get some close ups of bosses.
Well when ''Aldrich'' attacks, we see Gwyndolin moving his entire upper body and the scythe too, and Gwyndolin is not doing it by itself. I used cheat engine and it's only on pc. If Gwyndolin isn't dead yet somehow we end up killing him when we kill Aldrich anyway...
I don't think he is dead. At least not fully. A lot of people seem to think that just because the Darkmoon bow says that he WAS devoured, that means he was dead before we arrived. I think it's all about perspective, because when we arrive Aldrich is clearly still eating, but we do kill him, so both Gwyndolin and Aldrich are now fully dead. I think the description is simply using past tense because we'd killed him, not that Gwyndolin was already dead when we arrived, if you're still with me. Like the description wouldn't say "Bow of Dark Sun Gwyndolin who was half-devoured by Aldrich until the Unkindled came along". Also like a few people have said before, I don't think it's actually Aldrich making those noises during the battle. It's more like he has spread through Gwyndolin's body like blood and is physically manipulating his movements, but he isn't actually inhabiting the gods body. Kind of like how a hand manipulates a rubber glove once it's inside it, or a sock puppet. I know it's more disturbing to think that Gwyndolin could possibly be trapped inside his own body and is fully aware of what is happening but can't do a thing because the blob is literally digesting his body from inside out but for me it makes sense. Also I have used CE myself on this boss purely for reasons such as this and honestly, it seems like the worm part is the bit actually in control. On a couple of melee strikes, such as the slam, I noticed that Gwyndolin's body sags over like a ragdoll and then the worm part at his waist is the thing that lifts it back up. Adds a lot of credibility to the theory that Aldrich is simply flinging Gwyndolin's corpse around and not actually inhabiting it. I really wish they'd spent more time on this boss. A cut-scene at the beginning or in the middle would have helped. Another thing I don't get is why Anri summons us when we're in the same world as her. I mean we fight Yhorm the giant with Seigward and he was in the same world as us. This boss fight just seems so unfinished. Maybe something similar to Ludvig the Accursed from Bloodborne, like at the end of the battle what's left of Gwyndolins body stays there and you can talk to him briefly, tell him that Pontiff is dead and Yorshka is safe. I don't know, for me this boss seemed the most interesting and the most incomplete in both terms of gameplay and closure.
I could do more that if I had debug instead of CE, like controlling him and seeing the attacks. When i recorded the video I didn't noticed but you can see Gwyndolin chest and it's now dried, just skin and bones, and the skin is darker, as if he were already dead for some time(he had boobs but i dont know if that's important now) also there's obviously his broken arms/wrists probably because of aldrich.
Did you look under his skirt?.....Not like that you perverts! I meant to see where Aldrich and Gwyndolin connects. Also I'm curious about the bones you can sorta see through his skirt
Poor snek boi didn't deserve this, he's done nothing wrong, just staying loyal to his father only to be devoured by a pile of sludge and bones, I wish we could of saved him or get his set cause killing Aldrich only gives me slight happiness
This pityful image of Gwyndolin being eaten alive actually made me cry ;_; I always liked him and I can't look at his suffering. If only we could prevent this :'c
Chemical Phoebe Time is convoluted in Lordran. So I just look at this and say "not in my timeline." Someone else can link the flame, my high level dark souls 1 character will be parked right next to Gwyndolin permanently and anyone that looks at him even slightly funny is toast.
@@cthulhuhoops Then you can make it your timeline, too^^ Fun thing about Dark Souls is that everything is so convoluted with timelines and worlds and cycles and whatever, who can say that some oddball thing can't happen in one of those worlds. Yeah there's the canon but if you really think on it, we're only really seeing one timeline, plucked out and set in front of us by the devs. Who is to say that in one of these many connected but slightly different timelines that something can't snowball and throw it off course. So I think there could definitely be timelines where Aldrich gets dunked on and Gwyndolin is Okiedokey. You don't even know for sure that the timeline you play in DS3 is the one from DS1 given the multiple events that could happen in DS1 to totally throw it off track from becoming DS3. The dark lord ending exists, the player can fight and kill Gwyndolin, you can park a high level character in Anor Londo indefinitely. The canon of DS3 requires that certain events occur in DS1, and yet actions that defy that canon can be done in game so from that you can infer that the events of DS3 are not guaranteed for every timeline. Sorry for the paragraph, I am just more than willing to do some mental gymnastics for the sake of Gwyndolin.
+Skeleton Warlord Whoever has this as a fetish needs to seek professional help. Seriously there is a fine line between a slightly strange fetish and just downright insane.
its not that he's being devoured alive. aldrich already ate him and decided that he was cute, and uses his likeliness like how he uses the powers of other gods.
The reason he looks so different in ds1 is because he was creating an illusion to make himself look less grotesque, as it states he was born with deformities but was highly gifted in magic, what your looking at in ds3 is half of his true, deceased form. Grim stuff.
Somehow, I get the feeling Sulyvahn was the brains between those two. Aldrich just doesn't strike me as being especially clever, while Sulyvahn definitely acts like a chess master with all the shit he's done.
I have to wonder if the reason why so many people feel Aldrich feels unfinished is something to do with the Deep. Like, more Deep-focused content being cut.
hello i find something interesting about Aldrich . you know how Aldrich skull is fairly large and half eaten with worms allover it. i wonder if the skull is actually or possibly in the boss modle. i notice the very end part of Aldrich real body have very round section with alot of worms all over but its really hard to see it when when it moves around.i wonder if is possible for you to make a video with Aldrich not in the the mud water or put him floting in midair so we can see all the part model we cant normally see. if you please ofcourse.
Interesting to see she(?) actually goes under the map during the boss fight. I thought it was two different animations (going down and coming up) followed by warping her to a different spot
Can you imagine? Gwyndolin was being devoured by Aldrich for potentially thousands of years. As a God, he couldn’t die outright, so he was doomed to suffer the almost endless torment of being slowly drained of life, power and even form. Aware but unable to fight. Knowing his fate was sealed and forced to watch from within, utterly devoid of hope and power. They don’t call it DARK souls for nothing.
Aldrich and the other lords of cinder were just revived like a week or two before you go and kill them, not thousands of years. Aldrich had just started devouring Gwyndolin before we walked in
Sometimes I think he is alive, I mean Gwyndolin, because of his ring. "Gwyndolin, also known as the Dark Sun, *commands* the Darkmoon Knights, and *bestows* this ring upon the best of them." He is a master of illusion, and Yorshka is protected by an illusion. And he is probably the *"Griffith"* in Dark Souls and we know how smart Griffith is.
I know I’m a bit late on this comments but damn, all I see is such interesting comments about the lore of dark souls, I mean, I really would like a series or something about it, it’s just soo freaking interesting... and here I am, just trying my best trying the shit out to best these giant and magnificent bosses without knowing why 😅
There is a point during painful slow death, and agony Where the Pain becoming numbing and more of a sigh of relief that the pain is going to end soon. Kind of like the bloodborne lore of how the beasts that were caught on fire almost got high off of it And it is an actual phenomenon
I haven't seen anyone talk about the fact that his abdomen is identical to Gravelord Nito's cloak, and how his weapon's tip is shaped like the Gravelord's right hand. Am I crazy?
Am I the only one who thinks Gwyndolin DID deserve this? He was in on a conspiracy to oppress humans for thousands of years so they wouldn't come into power and set countless humans on the path to burn forever in the First Flame. By contrast, his torment only lasted, what, a couple weeks?
To touch on his longer hair that people mention, in DS1 his hair is done up in side buns, and time passes blah blah plus his hair being let down would be why his hair is much longer than it originally was.
actually i guess this "moans" are nothing more than sleepingsounds. not shure about it, but i never heard this sounds while fighting Aldrich. maybe the battle itself is to loud, but maybe ist because it stops when the fight realy begins. Its not that impossible. Reminding of his Lore, Aldrich is a Person with a lot of Dreams. He dreamt about Priscilla and the deep deep sea (the last one i woud say is a hint to Bloodborne.)
Crocodile Warlord. nope but just think about it: in bloodborne you have lost your memories, the most likely theory is that you are hollow, plus the fact of the blood and fire; the painting was made in a place that was bunrning, and it was made with blood. I think that the property of the "magic blood" is actually because its of the dark souls. Aaand there's the moonlight greatsord, wich could have very easily entered
I dont think so. i mean it IS an interesting idea, but nothing more that the new Painting is the world of Bloodborne. I mean... i dont see any connections between. i had to admit, that my Opinion about Aldrich's Dream isnt a real Proof as well. Its just an Idea, because he eat one - maybe two or even mor Gods because of his Dream of the deep Sea , what actually reminds me of the Godlikes in Bloodborn who also come from the deep See. But a real Proof it is not.
Everyone here is being so depressing. My headcanon is that Gwyndolin isn't being eaten alive. He's being eaten out. Why else would only his bottom half be consumed? His mouth also almost looks like a smile.
Would there be a way to make a small video on Aldrich like your other videos, when you can remove parts of the model? Because it would be cool to see him without the hair stuff around his waist.
Its cause Gwyndolin fell ill and pontiff used the opportunity to make a coul,if he didn't fall ill he would have simply killed Aldrich and pontiff.. If you're asking the reason he fell ill is because of PLOT
So.. were actually stepping on top of Aldrich (that weird gooey black stuff) and he's holding up Nitos dead body and Gwendolyns half eaten body? I still cant tell what part of this is Aldrich.
So did Aldritch eat Nito first or what? Is the dress with the skeletons the last bit of Nito being slurped up while Aldritch munches on Gwyndolin? Aldritch uses a magical version of Nito’s curved sword, after all
Everyone being upset over Gwyndolin being dead has to remember that his illusions aren't actual illusions, they have the power to manifest themselves into reality :) Such as with Ornstein in the DS1 boss fight. Ornstein is speculated to be an illusion of Gwyndolin, but when he falls, Smough clearly assimilates his power to become stronger. Could an illusion achieve that? Same could be said about Aldrich. Maybe the reason he is so weak and we could kill him easily, is because he assimilated an illusion of Gwyndolin and not the real one. That's just my opinion, but you're free to think as you want.

It's like walking in on the Thing assimilating someone. (Though with less green gore, slime, and jelly blood. Scary as hell. Poor Gwyndolin.)
I think to wrap the in-game lore up they should've made Aldrich drop the Soul of Gwyndolin aswell. From there you could either give it to Yorshka, perhaps for a specific reward or some form of resurrection? Or take it to Ludleth for the Darkmoon items from DS1.
If you look closely at aldritch's soul item you can see something within it.
He looks that way because he ate gwyndolin
the body kinda looks true king allant, like all gooey and stuff
*I wish that the 2nd phase was something like Aldrich spitting or swallowing Gwyndolin and then we got to fight the real Aldrich as a giant man-eating thing trying to eat us.*

Im 2 years late but...
The floor is flat cos so is gwyndolin ;)
Gwyndolin got sick between Dark Souls 1 and 3. That's probably why he sounds and looks different.
Gwyndolin being the last God in Anor Londo was held captive by the Pontiff Sullivan to wait a painful and slow death by Aldrich the Devour of Gods explains why he was a tail made out of goop and bones
Norma Quintana The "tail" is actually Aldrich. He's in the process of devouring Gwyndolin by the time you arrive to fight him.
Hang on if Gwyndolin was fully dead, why are we still hearing these sounds? The idle, attack and death sounds all give off an impression that something is still going on in Gwyndolins head.
The sounds he makes are akin to a zombie or a person on the very brink of death.
I think Aldrich is using Gwyndolin to breath(and attack) as a puppet, making these sounds.
Seeing gwyndolin like this really hurt, i didn't knew how to feel after killing him
That music...
no pls puppy no
At least we end Gwyndolin's suffering and kill Aldritch in the process. Aldritch can't hurt anyone else. Still a damn shame though.
0:51 perfect shot on gwyndolin full face
That boy ain't right.
Did you look under his skirt?.....Not like that you perverts! I meant to see where Aldrich and Gwyndolin connects. Also I'm curious about the bones you can sorta see through his skirt
Nashandra or Nito reference perhaps? His weapon is the Gravelord Greatsword but with a spear-like handle.
@@SirDoots the handle is just gwyndolin's staff
@@ForestofCicadas I like your timeline ;_;
@@ForestofCicadas Then it's settled, my undead stayed by Gwyndolin's side and protected him for eternity T_T
i wish we could save gwyndolin
I mean you can if you kill him in dark souls 1.
It sounds like he is moaning lmao
that's probably because that's what he's doing.
aldrich is pribably sucking at his snakes at the moment..
+DeZiiRe Dashie He's moaning in pain. It's not like someone would enjoy being chemically broken down by a flesh blob.
The Dark Sun of Anor Londo That's somebody's fettish
+Skeleton Warlord Whoever has this as a fetish needs to seek professional help. Seriously there is a fine line between a slightly strange fetish and just downright insane.
0:54 His eyes... Looks like Aldrich drained him enough to make Gwyndolin lose sight?
Too bad you cant get that helmet. They put in Wolnir's crown, but not this one :(
its not that he's being devoured alive. aldrich already ate him and decided that he was cute, and uses his likeliness like how he uses the powers of other gods.
They explicitly say that Aldrich likes to slowly eat his prey alive, so he can savor their screams and other such terrified sounds.
1:46 if you listen closely, it sounds like cries of pain... :(
Gloria Baquera Sounds like? It is.
JACK NO
What i expected : Gruesome horrifying scream
What i got : Asmr moan
It's odd that I wish they had a cutscene of Aldrich eating gywndolin
4 years later but thats a fucked up fetish
@@blank6165 lmaooo
@@blank6165 hot
@@blank6165 someone would indeed hustle to it
It won't be as fucked up if you add out after the eating part
The reason he looks so different in ds1 is because he was creating an illusion to make himself look less grotesque, as it states he was born with deformities but was highly gifted in magic, what your looking at in ds3 is half of his true, deceased form.
Grim stuff.
Aldrich took one look at gwyndolin's snake legs and thought "i want those inside of me"
I really, really hate Aldrich. And Pontiff. Mostly Pontiff.
And I love pontiff
Someone needed to stop them
Can't blame Aldrich for eating everybody needs to eat
@Logan Westbrook That is for... The taste... Yes for the taste
Somehow, I get the feeling Sulyvahn was the brains between those two. Aldrich just doesn't strike me as being especially clever, while Sulyvahn definitely acts like a chess master with all the shit he's done.
If Gwyndolin is dead then why does he make moans of pain?
Can Gwyndolin be undead?
Or did Aldritch also absorb the illness that Gwyndolin had?
Gwyndolin was eaten alive and Aldritch is controlling him. So I guess controlling the body makes it alive.
***** Well to be fair, they're not just noises, they're come sort of moans mixed with pain. That, or Aldritch's meal is giving him a lot of orgasms.
You can still hear his moans. It honestly seems like he’s still alive! This shit is fucking *disgusting.* Gwyndolin honestly didn’t deserve this.
Interesting to see she(?) actually goes under the map during the boss fight. I thought it was two different animations (going down and coming up) followed by warping her to a different spot
he
maybe animations can't react to the hit
+Dalv Aerolf he or she
İts actually (He).
and gwyndolin is (He) tho xd.
Aldrich had just started devouring Gwyndolin before we walked in
Aldrich had only been devouring him for 3-7 days
It's time to kill Aldrich and end Gwyndolin's suffering :D
Carol Jing gwyndolin i realese you may talos have him
rest now long one seek peace with your father
I don't remember Gwyndolin's hands are that big in Dark Souls 1!
What happened to him?
Aldrich
I was wondering who the CE youtuber was going to be for DS3. Glad it's you, Crestfallen.
dem yaoi moans doe
1:03 I remember how he moaned... this agonising pain that he must've been into....
Man, it's been years and yet Gwyndolin still looks really hot.
Gwyndolin was a good snek prince bab and deserved none of this :(
As a side note, a redditor also revealed an almost totally hidden sound record of a clearly feminine laugh when we die fighting... "him" I guess lol
I really wish there was armour for this boss :/
I never realized you could hear gwyndolin groaning like that
Sometimes I think he is alive, I mean Gwyndolin, because of his ring.
"Gwyndolin, also known as the Dark Sun, *commands* the Darkmoon Knights, and *bestows* this ring upon the best of them."
He is a master of illusion, and Yorshka is protected by an illusion. And he is probably the *"Griffith"* in Dark Souls and we know how smart Griffith is.
Apparently Aldrich became just some goo, and he needed a body to defend himself, so he used gwyndolin's body, possibly he regurgitated it
alec pizz nah fam, we walked in on him while he was eating lunch
we found nito a girlfriend
*Boyfriend
Well he probably looks different because he’s aged. The events of Dark Souls I and Dark Souls 3 are very far apart in terms of time.
Had no idea Aldritch was supposed to be Gwyndolin.. Thx for the description, dad.
RIP best waifu :...(
There is a point during painful slow death, and agony
Where the Pain becoming numbing and more of a sigh of relief that the pain is going to end soon.
Kind of like the bloodborne lore of how the beasts that were caught on fire almost got high off of it
And it is an actual phenomenon
I haven't seen anyone talk about the fact that his abdomen is identical to Gravelord Nito's cloak, and how his weapon's tip is shaped like the Gravelord's right hand. Am I crazy?
Dark souls 4 gwyndolin is alive and he still have the covenant
what’s going on
0:18
What is wrong with that wrist?
Wakka Seta Aldrich probably broke it (shrugs)
HerzogKefka bloodborne is the painting that the loli paints in Ariandell.
You're wellcome
Yoel Gallardo Ortegón Proof? any confirmation?
Crocodile Warlord. nope but just think about it:
in bloodborne you have lost your memories, the most likely theory is that you are hollow, plus the fact of the blood and fire; the painting was made in a place that was bunrning, and it was made with blood.
HerzogKefka yeah gess you are right.
but it would be reeeeaaally cool
Unlike the original, Gwyndolin has eyes here.
Everyone here is being so depressing. My headcanon is that Gwyndolin isn't being eaten alive. He's being eaten out.
Why else would only his bottom half be consumed? His mouth also almost looks like a smile.
With his withered state guess you could call him "spindlein".
Would there be a way to make a small video on Aldrich like your other videos, when you can remove parts of the model? Because it would be cool to see him without the hair stuff around his waist.
I can't unless I get a developer version of the game.
Oh okay fair enough
How the hell did a slug eat gwyndolyn. Aldrich is being deemed non canonical as we speak
Its cause Gwyndolin fell ill and pontiff used the opportunity to make a coul,if he didn't fall ill he would have simply killed Aldrich and pontiff..
If you're asking the reason he fell ill is because of PLOT
The model has no arm twist bones for some reason. It looks as if he has arthritis in the wrists and the elbows
So that's how Gwyndolin would look like
Aldritch is pretty much a pile of rib steak with the top half of Gywndolin.
I can't tell if gywndolin is being controlled or not :( If he wasn't shouldn't he let the undead kill Aldrich?
It seems obvious to me that Gwyndolin is either being controlled or dead, the posture, the blank eyes...
He's dead. Aldrich is pretty much just wearing the corpse as a hat at this point.
1:55 Majestic sliding... Michael Jackson 2.0?
is gwyndolin dead or alive? the blank eyes tell me hes dead
sui He’s barely alive. You can hear him moaning.
So.. were actually stepping on top of Aldrich (that weird gooey black stuff) and he's holding up Nitos dead body and Gwendolyns half eaten body?
I still cant tell what part of this is Aldrich.
Gwyndolin.. how dare you do this to me
You damn cheat on me
I want to see the model of this boss...
AND WHY HAS THIS GWYNDOLIN A FACE THIS IS A FUCKING SPACETIME DISTORSION AGAIN.
The Firekeeper also has a face FYI.
k.
It's not like Gwyndolin not having a face in dark souls 1 was intended.
*****
but we won't be able to draw waifus on his face! this is heresy!
So did Aldritch eat Nito first or what? Is the dress with the skeletons the last bit of Nito being slurped up while Aldritch munches on Gwyndolin? Aldritch uses a magical version of Nito’s curved sword, after all
Should have given us the option of buying the helm and robes after defeating Aldrich, such a rad outfit
i want to have such a fashion sense that immediately after my being consumed my clothes are desperately sought out to be worn by admirers
So like, is Gywndolin in his stomach and we can still hear her or what?
Gwyndolin is the person you see lol?
If you look very carefully at the description of the video, you'll see grammar die.
The ashen one didn't get that trap booty, only the chosen undead did.
Dude thats my name??!?!
I don't know his story, but it's amazing that someone ate the Lord of Cinder, and the glory of the real king Nameless
Would still bang
Check the wiki, Aldrich has consumed Gwyndolin, Nito, and Priscilla and is using gwyndolin's corpse, Nito's bony cloak, and priscilla's scythe.
The only man I love is a male, philosophy, slug, cannibal, femboy who steals my heart every playthrough
Wrist is folded like a paper 😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂
I think people are greatly overanalyzing the illusion thing.
It's Gwyndolin!!!
Goodness gracious
It doesn't look like a blob. It looks more like a clump of hair and maybe attached to a dead serpent.
Looks like Gwyndolyn is suffer...
Fuck I've read this doujin before...
