The fact that the first leivmotiv is so similar as Gwyn's is so great, just as the first part of Gwyndolin's name has Gwyn in it. Also, as Gwyn is the Lord of Sunlight, his theme is in Am, which has no "black keys" (cause he's the light) when played on the piano. This Gwyndolin theme is in Ebm, which has all of the 5 "black keys", representing his status as Dark Sun. I think you understood what Gwyn theme represents and succesfully twisted it into a version perfectly suited for a character full of complexity. Magnificent job and thank you for this piece of art!
Gwyndolin was abandoned to his fate in the city of is family. He was left alone in the darkness: his father sacrificed for the sake of the world, his sister leaves with everyone else, not even knights to keep him safe, he is all left alone. Still. Still studied light magic to give Anor Londor a sight to the lost glory, still he created illusions strong enough to guard the city of his beloved father, still kept living on for centuries securing a Order Of Knights that brought justice, raising a hybrid child to keep his legacy, making sure other mighty heroes follow the steps of his father. All alone in the dark, while getting old and sick. All... until certain monster eat him whole, leaving a daughter behind.
@@jodelbrossy I just looked, discovered a program that can replace any sound file in the game with a new one! It was easy too, would it be good with you if I published a video of the boss fight with your music piece? I will credit you of course, I'd just like you to see what it's like
@@Misty-jv2cg Oh, absolutely no problem! As long as you credit me, I'm fine! It makes me happy to see so much enthusiasm, so thank you! (Hope this will look good with the boss fight gameplay)
Hey, not bad at all! How did you do that? Afterwards, the ideal would have been to start the music at the 52nd second because the beginning is perhaps a little too calm for a boss fight 😋
Gwyndolin's soul survived the age of darkness, because it was in cocoon of Aldrich's soul. Half-devoured, it survived. When new light shined in the darkness, Gwyndolin reborn as a Moon. He watched to the earth and was happy to see new fire shine and life sprout. But then he saw some space parasite that fell to this fire and claim it ti his own, growing symbol of it's power - big shiny tree. Gwyndolin wasn't happy with it, so he did everything to get rid of the parasite and his tree, to free the fire. Happily he found a witch who wanted to start a new age and a mighty god of death and reborn who was also pissed of by the made-of-light parasite... ...So the new saga, full of YOU DIED began.
Jodel Brossy, I don't know even how I stumbled upon your piece, but I'm officially obsessed, I've heard it on loop dozens of times already. I was a sworn Blade of the Darkmoon since I first played Dark Souls 1 in 2012 when it released on Steam, defending other players as early as in the Undead Burg, dropping Indictments for the invaded player so they can use in case I fail. It was very disappointing for me that they diluted the covenant in DkS2 with the requirement of "Way of Blue" for the now forgotten~ Blades of the Darkmoon to defend them as "Blue Sentinels"... Only to get to DkS3 and see what Aldrich ultimately did to him, MY god of JUSTICE??? At this point I was so furious about Sulyvahn and Aldrich. I spent hundreds, maybe a thousand hours combined in all Dark Souls' hunting the Player Killers. Good stuff.
@@jodelbrossy Hello there Mr. Brossy, I often return to this magnificent piece, but I was wondering, what do you use to compose? I mean as in which Digital Audio Workstation and Midi instruments library, if you don't mind sharing. Have a great day!

Gwyndolin having his own piano soundtrack just as his father makes a lot of sense. Sadly they just reused the butterfly theme in ds1.
Yes, Gwyndolin's official soundtrack was.. disappointing 😶
*his
Isn't because he created the dark moon butterfly?
It has never been 'the butterfly theme' in the first place. That track is called "Dark Sun Gwyndolin" and they just reused it in the Butterfly battle.
@@tastytaist9916 no, it was Seath who created it.
A beautifully sad melody which suits Gwyndolin's character
gwyndolin is probably my favourite dark souls character, they have a lot of things about them that ive never seen in any other piece of media
This is criminally underrated, I would learn modding just to put this piece in game.
Thanks !! And yes unfortunately, modding is an art way too obscure for me 😅

Easily my fav Dark Souls cover/song by a long shot.

Wonderful music that brings the character's melancholy. Thank you Jodel B.

Hey Jodel, is there any way of having the sheet of this piece? I would love to play it by myself

Unfortunately it takes a lot of time to do but who knows? Summer is coming and with it perhaps a few surprises!
I need this thumb, whiteout text
