Most of the bulk trash I put out is gone over by pickers and mostly eliminated before the city gets there. Hope there is an easy "appointment cancellation" process.
1. With regular pickup schedules the treasure hunters would remove any metal or desired items within hours, greatly reducing the pile. So is this to stop the city from getting the more valuable metal recyclables? Are they going to take monetary bribes from individuals who collect metal for a living? 2. How convenient are the appointments? There's going to be blackout dates around holidays? Lot of holidays in a calendar year. 3. There have been times my wifi has gone kaput. Or my computer. Can the appointment be called in and if so are they going to send out a paper list of blackout dates for those who must phone call in appointments to use for reference? 4. Half the amount for the same POTENTIAL amount of pickup plus little chance the scavengers will still be around to help get your pile smaller in time. 5. We called days ago and were told NO LEAVES, GRASS OR SMALL TWIGS. No, NOT EVEN IF BUNDLED. 6. Never mind my internet system; what if THEIR internet system or the whole internet system goes down? Do you lose one of of your allowed pickups because of it? 7. Convenient for the customer my eye. This is much harder for people who mentally have a harder time dealing with the internet or navigating 'appointment' sites. Before, all they had to do was look at the colorful map to tell when their pickup was. Now they have to navigate a government site. That's not convenient. Especially if with most of my above list. 8. Considering the pickup piles are cut in half and more stuff can not be in it, are my General Pickup taxes going to be noticeably cut to correspond to that? 9. This was a piss poor response to the labor shortage of last year. Your government at work. Do you really want to give them MORE authority by voting for socialists?
Peoria has been doing the appointment for the last 2 years I believe. You used to just get a map in the mail and stick your items out by a certain date in your neighborhood. Even the city of Peoria scheduling website had a big glitch and wouldn't give you your confirmation number.

This isn’t going to work in the maryville area. There’s going to be so much illegal dumping. Good luck Phoenix
