    Useful desengage for autorotation too👍

      Hope it is not necesary to desengage for autorotation.

    • @toddhazell925
      @toddhazell925 Рік тому

      He doesn't have enough hands to disengage the clutch and do autorotation while steering the chopper to a safe spot, because of that return spring on the hook lever that once he engages the clutch, he can only disengage the clutch once he's landed.

    You have balls of steel to build and then fly your own helicopter! That is epic!

      Apparently no aviation experience. Lots of failure points. It might last a week or long enough to lure you into a state of false confidence.

    Não tenho palavras para definir seu projeto, dos primeiros vídeos até aqui tenho a sensação que estou assistindo uma série especial, e fico todos os dias esperando o próximo episódio. Parece que você sabe o que nós estamos esperando em cada parte do projeto e o que precisa de melhorias.

    That is the first time I have seen a bolt on swage. For aircraft use we always have brass swages , what are the ratings on them? Do you use loctite to make sure they do not loosen?

  • @gevitoria100

  • @toddhazell925

    This is an epic build and I hope you have many hours of flight.
    My concern about the belt roller after weight reduction is that it is balanced because with that spinning/rolling along the belts, if it is not balanced, it could induce flapping/oscillation of the belts becuase the diameter of that roller being smaller than the engine pulley (say the engine is doing 1500rpm) that pulley could be doing 2000rpm or there abouts and that it is fully welded into that frame/carrier with no way apart from cutting up that carrier to service repair the pulley.
    Just my thoughts. What do you think?

  • @urbannpa
    @urbannpa Рік тому +1

    I like that you get right to it....and I would kill (Just kidding) for your workshop. One question, is there a reason you don't use roller bearings in the mid portion of the tail rotor shaft?.

    • @ultralighthelicopter
      @ultralighthelicopter  11 місяців тому

      Hy. The plans i used for reference on this build recommended nylon bushings for the tail rotor shaft. So i guess i have to see how they perform and might do a update from there... Best regards...

    You are so smart and have amazing building techniques. But in almost every one of your videos you make huge failures against aviation standards , most likely ones that will hurt you in the end.

    Buonasera! Ho guardato tutti (o quasi) i suoi video . Bravo hai veramente molte capacità nella costruzione. Mi sorge una domanda visto che non ho trovato un video per quanto riguarda. Ma l'elicottero vola? Ho visto veramente troppo ferro in questo progetto

  • @chippyjohn1

    Does it have a one way clutch, what happens if you need to disconnect the engine in a hurry for autorotation?

  • @JeffChoppah
    @JeffChoppah Рік тому

    Prepare to eliminate this pulley reduction stage. It is greatly affecting final rotor RPM. I took mine for high power runs and got disappointed, Needs to be 1:1 ratio...have confirmed with other builders of this model that only engine gearbox and top gearbox needed

    • @ultralighthelicopter
      @ultralighthelicopter  Рік тому

      Thanks for this information, i had the engine running without the main and tail rotor blades installed and can confirm that the Main Rotor RPM seemed to low with the setting i currently have.

    Nice tension, but am still worried for your main rotor blade it seems too heavy due to still and Manny aluminum tube for reinforcement

      I did a lighter version of the Main Rotor Blades they where to heavy indeed coming up... stay tuned...

    Timecode 9:05. Please use self-locking nuts or thread retainer here. This is clearly not a reliable node. Otherwise, everything is moderately reliable. Thank you for embodying the childhood dream of many men - it energizes!🦾
