    For sure going to try to design my own monster sounds for my horror game. Planning on making a gargling sort of sound.
    Thanks for the tips!

    Great video bud! I’m starting to do more creature sounds to widen my Voice Over repertoire and there’s not a whole lot to go off of on UA-cam or it’s just buried under other videos. I’ve actually been doing the Predator growl for years and use it to scare my daughter down the hallway…lol…I can now do it where you can’t even hear me breathing out, which makes it creepier and then I sometimes transition it into a hiss, while still doing the growl. I’ve also been able to use the growl while speaking in some instances.
    Once you really play around with the versatility of your voice, it’s amazing what you can learn!

    This is really interesting and helpful. Especially for someone who is new to this. But I'd like to know how you'd make monster sounds for like, little monsters. Baby monster/kaiju even. So they sound more cute maybe

    • @cybergameextreme4463

      Just high pitch it (maybe).

    • @rarefindssound
      @rarefindssound  2 роки тому

      Yeah you could try keeping it cute and in a higher range. Maybe even using squeaky toys and other little kids toys. They might evoke more cuteness

      @@rarefindssound I tried, but it didn't sound that right. In the end I used the sounds of a baby lion, cougar and snakes and pitched those a bit lower, put a light echo effect in to make it sound bigger and used some actual monster sounds pitched them higher

    Great video! Did you record everything in 192khz? I have had problems with animal samples in pitch shifting when they were 48khz.

    • @rarefindssound
      @rarefindssound  Рік тому +1

      Hey Chris. In this video I recorded in 96khz. I have done some recordings since in 192khz and it does make a lot of difference when pitch shifting and stretching.
      I tend to do most of my sound design projects in 96khz

    • @rarefindssound
      @rarefindssound  3 роки тому

      I was usin a rode NT1. But tbh any relatively decent mic will do. Mainly layering, EQ and lots of plugins to get the desired effect.

      @rarefindssound  3 роки тому
