For instanse, your reference img ratio is 1.5 then you would like the bigger side of your following painting will be 50 cm, then the other side is 50 divide by 1.5 = 33.33 cm.

What kind of paper is the large one. Where to get?
just a cheap and normal sketching paper
Is this how you do a large drawing when using a smaller photo as a reference? I've always wondered how artists do large portraits
The grid method is one of the posibilities. There a more.
@@lustenhouwer thank you, making larger pictures from an a4 print is where I really struggle when it comes to accuracy of the face
