I remember Stuart saying after playing the final night of five at the Town and Country Club in Kentish Town that he knew some fans have been to every night and yep you guessed it I was one of the them 😊
+BC1000stars If I have my BC music available when Im driving by the best western by the airport, Ill crank it, and think a silent thought of how much hes missed.
A lot of overseas bands do have a hard time cracking into the U.S. market and maintaining their fire when they do hit it big with that one tune or so. I know they were pretty big when the came out with "In A Big Country".
This is the greatest album ever ! And the tour was awesome, I got to see 👀 them in the stone pony in October of 93 ! They were so close never forget that show , I was stoned cold sober. Stuart, one of the best singer song writers ever. May the Father bless you, and be with you and all of Mankind. I will not Consent. Come UP SCREAMING.
boxergirl1736 yea right anyone looks good standing next to any one who looks like clinton or thatcher and her gun slinging side kick you must have the youngsters down as idiots
Big Country looking a lot more hip than they have a right to, with all the black shirts and leather pants. What a great period and how lucky to get Mark back in the group!
Westy Pure class from a sensational outfit. 20 times plus live and always sublime. Long live the sound and music of the most underrated live band ever. Rip big man.
Yeah, and they made quite a few subtle changes to this song (presumably to shorten it for the TV time-slot) yet still played it so incredibly tight! Best band ever....RIP, Stuart.
I can be you miracle man … Such a beautiful song and a talented man who deserves way more recognition for these lyrics I believe in you It’s still in you
Was at St Mary's last weekend, Southampton 1-1 Arsenal. Great to see the players running out to The Saints Are Coming, second half. Stirred them to get the equaliser. Come on you Saints (from a City fan)!
Buffalo Skinners is a cracking album - Stuart and the band just got better & better - a massive talent - songwriter, lead singer ,guitar player and an iconic charismatic front man - rest in peace big man
Stuart Adamson and Sir Edwin Landseer had more than a few things in common. Their talent was pretty much ambidextrous, they loved to drink, they both had a soft spot for the real "Monarch of the Glen", but yet, they were so much alone inside themselves. May your patronus always protect and be with you Stuart. You left far too soon.
RIP Stuart! - soo sad we lost him just 8 years later...you never know when its your time :( Enjoy the music and the times he created. Big Country coined the classic 80's song, but they were really much more then 1 hit wonders ;)
Brilliant quality, thanks so much for posting, fan from his Skids days but Buffalo Skinners is in my top 2 BC albums - this is being downloaded and kept :-)
It's not 25 years ago yet but 1993 was a new start for Big Country and me. Working as a pizzaolo I was called home to finish law study at university and working in a law firm as a volunteer. Finished university and became a lawyer. Big Country? We lost Stuart in 2001 but hey we still are Big Country! (H) Stay Alive!
You're quite welcome! Only too happy when people get to see a clip of a performance that they never knew existed before, and take the time to share their appreciation of that fact.
I appreciate that so much, too! This footage is as old as I am, so I never got the chance to see them live - therefore I soak in every single video of them in action I can get. Thank God there is UA-cam and people like you who share their material with others.
Believe it or not a Big Country fan sent me a tape with this song and the performance at the Grammy Awards. Bruce Watson was asking if anyone had any of their earlier performances taped that they could send him. I said I did but it was on VHS. So another fan from New Jersey, I think-or new York, a policeman named John said send it to him. He made DVD's for America and Europe and sent Bruce and I a copy. I'm in Florida by the way. The original had a small interview at the end. Glad to see it here!!!!!
I got to see them Live in 1995 opening for Page and Plant, but at the time I admit I didn't appreciate them enough. Anyone notice that Leno said they were from his Mum's "Hometown of Scotland"?? Does he not know that Scotland is a Country and not a Town.
I hate to think about all the people that heard Big Country for the first time during this performance. Im a huge fan but if i wouldnt have known all the great stuff they did prior to this I probably would not have given them a second look after seeing this......just saying
Stay off the whiskey , Along with simple minds and deacon blue the best that scottish music has to offer. Yes they were brilliant but u2 , beatles and the rolling stones followed by coldplay.
Not having a go here, but this aint the original line up. Simon Phillips played drums on the album as Stuart had a hissy with Mark. Now I know Pat Ahern played drums on the uk tour. Mark came back to the band for Why the long face. Just saying, but thanks for this upload never seen it before.
That's not quite correct, Mark was back in the band immediately after the album was finished, he played drums on the 1993 tour and stayed in the band ever since then. Also, Mark left around the time (or just before) of the 1991 album release 'No Place Like Home', if you watch concert footage from the period 1990 to 1992, Mark isn't playing drums on any of their gigs in this period. They even have drum machines on some tracks that surfaced on the 'Rarities' albums, e.g. on Eastworld. Also, in this Jay Leno clip, Mark is playing drums, that isn't Simon Phillips.
I remember Stuart saying after playing the final night of five at the Town and Country Club in Kentish Town that he knew some fans have been to every night and yep you guessed it I was one of the them 😊
Holy fuck. What a tune.
I miss Stuart every day of my life.
A great talent and a very humble, likeable guy. R.I.P Stuart.

Good Call
R.I.P., Stuart. You were genuine through your music.
this video reminds why i thought and still think this is the best band / line up of pure talent ever! best band ever and should have been massive 🎸👍
11 April 2020: happy birthday Stuart Adamson. You're deeply missed - your name will never die, your songs will be forever.
I saw a big country at the China club in Chicago my hometown it was awesome
Wow! never seen this before, miss you Stuart!
Holly shit that gives me goose bumps every time x
How come they never made it big in the USA? such an amazing band.
Actually, I remember hearing Big Country songs on the radio alot! But, yeah, I do not recall even knowing their name, Big Country.
A lot of overseas bands do have a hard time cracking into the U.S. market and maintaining their fire when they do hit it big with that one tune or so. I know they were pretty big when the came out with "In A Big Country".
Stuart Adamson was just brilliant...miss him and the original big country...RIP
They sound great here. Cheers to Leno for getting them on. Stuart looking very healthy!

Pity about their management. Look at what Paul mcguiness done for U2
Can you explain please?
Buffalo Skinners ...takes me back to 1993.
What an amazing man stuart was still haunts me to this day hearing of his passing but we have these trinkets of pure gold to remember him by .
Fair play, Stu looks truly amazing here. 🥰
Buffalo Skinners is an awesome and overlooked record
Definitely 👌
To me it ranks as their third-best behind Steeltown and The Crossing!
I agree - very close behind Steeltown & The Crossing for me 👍
Fabulous.
That’s 100% correct
Nothing's been the same since he's gone....
I agree! :(
Anguille2 oh how much I do agree with thee, he was and always will be the greatest rock talent ever to walk this earth.
yeah i agree, he put food on my table when i was growing up. will always be gratefull for that.
So true
Agreed
head and shoulders above so many other bands
Were critics afraid of a band to be bigger than U2.
There weren’t afraid, they simply weren’t on the same popularity level as U2 were in the states.
@@johnmc3862 nonsense BC could have blown these comedians off the stage
Unfortunately if they done live aid would have taken there audience to a whole new leva 👌my favourite band and guitarist rip stu
1:47 love, love, love watching Mark’s drumming! Remarkable!

Rip big man.

They look so great together even towards the 90s. Miss it.
I came because I thought this was going to be a cover of the R.E.M. song...i stayed because this song sounded good
I can be you miracle man …
Such a beautiful song and a talented man who deserves way more recognition for these lyrics
I believe in you

Better than the album version! Really like Bruce's guitar playing here!
Wow, 1993! Unbelievable. Excellent audio.

I think he was stylizing his voice to an American audience...bc they.play so differently when back.in Scottland with their true highland sound
'From my Mum's home town of Scotland'. What?

Awesome band
Should have played long way home
Best band EVER!!! "Little town of Scotland"??? Tit
It's a good song from a great album. I put Buffalo Skinners just behind The Crossing.
"My Moms HOMETOWN of Scotland" :D
"From my mom's hometown of Scotland...." Proving that fame and money don't = SMRT.
The single is called "The One I Love"
I got to see them Live in 1995 opening for Page and Plant, but at the time I admit I didn't appreciate them enough. Anyone notice that Leno said they were from his Mum's "Hometown of Scotland"?? Does he not know that Scotland is a Country and not a Town.

I didn't know they opened for Page and Plant in in 1995. That must have been an amazing show.

Thought it was going to be an REM cover
Moms home town = .....Scotland? 🤣
I heard they were on SNL. Is this true?
They appeared on SNL in 1983, performing "In a Big Country" and "Fields of Fire".
Shame the 2019 B.C. continues stop now please
KI$$ still plays and breathes and this band and Stu don't. As if we needed any more proof there's no god.
Why did he do it? Why?
That they were releasing MOR trash like this at the time of Nirvana and Oasis is just WEIRD.
Great song, but doesn’t have the power of the studio version.
