2022 GMC Sierra Demo Vehicle: Part 1 - Custom Fabricated Front Stage
Welcome to the first episode of our six-part series on the ultimate car audio install for the 2022 GMC Sierra High-End model. In this episode, we will show you how we built out the front stage of the audio system.
The first step was to apply black hole sound dampening to the truck door. This helps reduce vibrations or unwanted noise that may interfere with sound quality. Next, we had to fabricate the door with speaker adapters to house a Focal Utopia 8-inch woofer in the factory location. For the woofers, we fabricated custom adapters to fit the Utopia 8WMs in the factory door location. We used a combination of wood and plastic to create the adapters, which ensure a secure and snug fit for the woofers. We used our CNC CAMaster router and speedy 400 laser from Trotec to ensure precise cuts and a perfect fit.
Once the speaker adapter was in place, we installed the Focal Utopia 8-inch woofer. This high-end component is a game-changer when it comes to sound quality. "Using the right components and taking the time to properly install them is key to achieving the ultimate car audio experience," says Scott Miller of Music In Motion.
