Nice to see you still doing these, may not get the views it deserves at the start but in the future (especially on Studio 3.0), people are more likely to view these as a valuable resource.
Hey @Buttjuice at 32:09 you mentioned making a future video explaining how autotiles work. Are you still planning on making this at some point? I'm trying to learn it on my own but I can't manage to figure it out. I greatly appreciate your videos!
Im so cofused :o. After i made the map and made system and terraintags in Tiled. Its in the folder but no matter what i do it never opens the map and it always start this default opening which the maker made. Even though i deleted evry asset there was for that. Why do i need RPG Maker XP isnt this playing with Pokemon studio alone?
@@gioxele4920 I bought RPGMaker XP since there is curerrently no other way around it to navigate to it without either setting the spawn to your own map OR setting a warp to it. For both u NEED it.
If not done so in future, could you do a video how to credit properly (In credits of the game and a notepad away from the game) as in my case i have downloaded public tilesets a while back in case i ever work on anything in the future but forgot which tilesets are which. If i do ever work on anything, i should probably delete the tilesets and re search them
Thank you so so much for these tutorials ❤ I've been working on Pokemon Stars now, a sequel to Sun/Moon cuz about 7 years ago Nintendo was actually working on it before throwing it away to work on the Switch instead and I'm tired of waiting so I decided to do it on my own and these videos are so helpful! Keep up the good work!
I was able to do everything after working through a few location errors but my most difficult issue is the resolution of my tiles. I am wanting to use the RMXP vanilla assests but they render in so blurred when added via PSDK vs RMXP. Any solutions with adding tiles that usually work fine in RMXP?
Again a question :o how would i make a little more intrestinmg terrain stuff like a bride or differenz y coordinates like i climb a mountain 2 layers above the ground and theres a bridge going over walkable ground?
Creating my first map went well. The issue is that I want to make a second one and I am unsure what to do about the tilesets that I used. The only option is to add a new tileset. How do I reuse one from a previous map? Because creating a new file every time I add a tileset sounds like it will create a lot of clutter.
Im trying to make it work for 2 last days, no matter how many times i try or change anything, I either get message "Failed to find tilesets:terrain_tag.tsx" or sometimes when I change couple things I get message"Error while importing tiled maps an error occurred during overview generation (exit code:1)", what do those messages mean?
So you can add a Z dimension for objects to be on top or lower layers which is super nice. But there's no Z dimension for tiles themselves and the camera movement right? The gen 4 games an onwards have tiles on a layered system to get the feeling you really are walking up a cliff. Besides that lots of great features!
Gen 4 onwards uses actual 3D models instead of tiles. Tiles have z levels so they can either cover a player or cover other tiles etc. RMXP has a camera movement but it's just scrolling, its a 2D game after all. Not 3D trying to act 2D like gen 4-gen 5
@@Buttjuice Okay, thanks for the info 😁 I'm shopping around for which engine would be best for what I have planned. As long as the camera can zoom back that's most of what I need and I'd take it with much easier UX rather than using the existing gen 4 engine
There is no "connection".. it is a kit. If you would create a project with Studio you would see it creates a RPG Maker project that you just need to open with RPG Maker, just like any other RPG Maker project. I don't really cover things as basic as that, more the nuanced and specific things regarding PSDK and Studio. In that episode it shows you how to create a project, from there you literally just open it.
I have never used RPG Maker, nor have I ever tried to make a rom hack or fan game. Would you say that I'm within the target audience for this tutorial series? If not, could you please refer me to another resource which covers topics too basic for this one?
Hi, i've got an error message when i wanna import my maps, it shows : ENOENT: no such file or directory, copyfile 'C:\Users\ylane\Desktop\map\pokemon.tsx' i cant understand what does that means because i dont have in my map folder a file named "pokemon.tsx". Thanks for the video btw

is there any chance to skip this hole part and just import the finnisched Map? where are these to find?

where did you get that "Test Stuff" file from (17:30). Didin't find it in my PC.
Test Stuff is just the name of my project, I literally say "if I go into my recent project I created with Studio"
@@Buttjuicesorry im stupid

It says my tiles are embedded

WOAHHHH GREAT VIDEO!
this was so helpful it deserves 10000000000000000000000000000 likes :)
Your naming conventions don’t work. I tried them and my layers in rpg maker don’t merge.
I can assure you you did something wrong on your end then. You should join the discord and make a support thread!
how would one use auto tiles, this way since you're no longer mapping with rpgmaker?
Making autotiles in Tiled is a bit of a different process, but it's not super different. I plan on making a video on it in the future.
its not helpful is confusing i just want to Import the finished game into studios to configure it a bit
Cool! Thank you. But let me clarify - what about animated tiles?
great stuff!
So you lost me where can i have the terrain_tag passages and systemtags tileset ?
I go over it in the "adding passages tileset" section!
Love these vids
INVATORZEN UPLOAD LETS GOO
As relevant as ever. Nice work !
You lost me when you got into RPG Maker. Is there a previous video where you explained how hook up Pokemon Studio with RPG Maker?
Yeah, episode 1 :]
I just rewatched episode one. You mention that RPG Maker is needed, but you never open it or explain how to connect it with Pokemon Studio.

Is PSDK good for editing existing ROMs? I'm trying to edit pokemon radical red's type chart and types for personal use.
No, PSDK is a kit for RPG Maker XP.
