Very underrated movie. One of my favorite westerns of all times. Great story, incredible cast, breathtaking sceneries and just the right amount of humor.
Why do people always use the term 'underrated'? Because your friends haven't seen it? Because it's almost 40 years old? Look at it's ratings on IMDb and Rotten Tomatoes. Highly rated.
@@marcoadan1 Saying something is underrated is overrated. 😉 I'm guilty of using it myself. Probably comes from a perception that enough people haven't seen or it never got the proper acclaim.
@@marcoadan1 I suspect the poster might consider it 'underrated' because it never seemed to garner all the acclaim that other Westerns did (i.e. "Unforgiven," "Dances With Wolves," etc.). I don't know if I'd call it 'underrated,' but it probably won't immediately come to mind if you ask a group of people what their favorite Western is. It seems to be one of those movies that, once you remind people of it, they'll reply, _"Oh yeah. That WAS good!"_ 😉
What a cast this film has. Scott Glen, Kevin Kline, Kevin Costner, Danny Glover, Brian Dennehy, John Cleese, and Jeff Goldblum. That's just off the top of my head. I'm probably forgetting some.
Linda Hunt stole every scene she was in. Rosanna Arquette’s here, Lynn Whitfield, Jeff Fahey, Joe Seneca. The director’s son is in this; his directing debut was The Zero Effect in the late-90’s
@@riverswild5825oh, I know the name. Watching it since it came out as a kid...I'm just not sure why it speaks to me more so than other westerns. It's not too much or too little. It's just right.
At Least with this movie the actors get abit dirty, unlike some of the 50's westerns. Even John Wayne, movies the cowboys/ people, were always dressed so clean, unlike things in real life.
Understand wanting more, but the cast are really old now and regardless, the story was complete. I suppose you could show Emmet returning to the little lady and trying to settle down only to be disrupted by some other bad players, but anything beyond the original just detracts.

Incredible Bruce Broughton score too.

Do you have to be a dick?
Still one of the best westerns ever.
I will fight you.
Agreed. It ranks up there just below Tombstone in my opinion.
Unforgiving
Best Western of the 80’s. There weren’t many, but what few there were, were pretty good. Silverado is an epic in any decade.

@@GizmoBeach I knew I was forgetting a few. Linda Hunt was great. Everyone was.
Silverado was a great film after I'd stopped expecting good new films in the genre
About the only film after that was Tombstone.
@@Caseytify Quigley Down Under, Dances with Wolves, Unforgiven...
True Grit
Everyone who’s seen this movie loves it. Problem is, not enough people have seen it.
👍🏻
Even the shop keeper is on point in this film. The scissors to the chest, the pride in his crappy gun... Just perfect.
If I could only watch five movies for the rest of my life, this would be one of them.
The best Western. No qualifiers needed.
Where’s the dog always makes me laugh 😂
Still one of my favorite Westerns.
Excellent movie
Dont know exactly what it is; but, this western ROCKS!!
Silverado
One of the best films ever.
SILVERADO Check it out, it only gets better from this scene on to the end.

Indeed. Brian Denehy was at his
Ssnarky best. He makes a great
Bad guy.
If there's a better western i haven't seen it.
This is a great movie.
A great movie
Pretty cool movie. Costner. Glover. Please. Great western. 😊
Silverado yeah it’s a pretty good one
Only time stone beats this m😅vies as westerns gov I like this movie more than any east wood western

As I've said on other vids, I'm waiting on Silerado 2.
No. Please no. Silverado is nigh-on perfect.

'Can you get your knee off my chest'
Silverado is the movie
P A D E N
"P a d e n"
All star cast before they were all stars
Dennehy was a star before Silverado.
Hi
Great western movie, too bad hollyweird can only make crap movies these days.
Silly, the other guy shot first anyway. the whole scene was unecessary
Nobody said a word about shooting the guy. They just wanted to make sure it was his horse.
