    We had Gunrnseys
    My Dad and I. Milked by hand. They were such good girls. Lol. My mom made butter. With my Grandmother s churn. And butter molds. Parents have been gone some time.but memories are still alive. The smell of the carsine lanterns. Hay in the old Barn.the smell of the fresh milk. And the warmth of the evening. And the warm wind blowing through the corn field. It was Great!🙂

    Jerseys Milk is the same kind of rich creamy milk. In a half gallon jar of raw milk, when the milk cools it separates naturally, our jars are 1/3 cream. What an inspiring story.

    This video shows that we need to return to our roots. We need to support our local dairy and cattle ranchers by shopping directly, no middleman. It will be more healthy for us and sustainable for the environment. A win win.

    Thanks for helping me put to words what I never quite could before! Why I care so much for and help others? It's my destiny, only I will add to it that it is part of my destiny. And I have taught people how to make butter too!

    In the 1960's, my grandparents bought raw milk from a neighbor until the laws passed made it illegal to sell it. No one was happy about it and my grandmother quit making huge tubs of cottage cheese as the flavor wasn't the same using "store bought" milk. It was the best cottage cheese I've ever had along with her bread, rolls, and pies. I miss those years.

    My kind of milk, but it's a little bit difficult to spot the Waldos Way Dairy sign at 65MPH. The buttermilk is something we miss the most from this dairy and takes me back to childhood. So, whenever I go to East Texas, I take the ice chest and grab a few gallons. So many nice tasty products available, you tend to over shop a bit. Blackbean brownies comes to mind; a real taste bud surprise. 🟫😉

    My grandpa was German , had a 60 cow dairy in Pensacola , jersey Guernsey cows. A woman from up north moved into Pensacola , she ran a bakery . She told granddad “ I love your milk and butter but could you please leave the color out of my butter ?” ... LOL

    Ris, you don't happen to be single? I'd love to serve your farm, and your cows, and, well, do as I'm told. I love how you do dairy. I miss it like crazy. If I don't get my hands on cows again soon, my life loses all its meaning.

    just curious here. How or who sanitizes that teat before the suction starts. In most dairies a rag that has sanitizer on it , cleanses the teat before milking process begins.

    not to be underestimated working with daily fresh produce that does not hold for very long. I think those guys work long hours. All that fresh milk has somehow to be processed in a very short time.

    It's wonderful job you doing out there.If you don't mind get your farm soil tested for any defficient elements. The way your cows are cared for they should have more meat on their bones. Wish you all success.

  • @lemoncrinckles
    @lemoncrinckles 5 років тому +3

    Why do those cows all look so skinny? You can count their ribs.

    • @thewaldowaydairyfarm3890
      @thewaldowaydairyfarm3890 5 років тому +1

      Actually, if you know about dairy cows or have been around dairy cows their ribs always show unless they are pregnant or overweight. The grand champion dairy cows have their ribs as well. They are not beef cattle which is an entirely different bone and body structure. The Waldo Way would never and I repeat never mistreat or undernourish their animals. We invite all who would to see this firsthand!

      The five breeds of dairy cows. Holsteins. Guernsey Brown Swiss ayshire and jerseys all look a bit skinny because they are meant to produce milk. And not meat. Very high demand as some cows produce 90 pounds of milk daily

    Now if you could grow grass and move cows from pasture to pasture and let them eat fresh and natural, feeding grain is not a natural diet for cows it’s what we were taught and it wrong and then with GMO grains how do you know it’s nutrient rich?
