  • With its compact design and a level of build quality worthy of the famous Audi four-ringed badge, the Q2 arrived on the scene back 2016 and immediately proved that small SUVs could be more than just a fashion statement.
Seven years later, the Q2 might be the smallest member of a range of Audi SUVs that includes the Q3, Q5, Q7 and Q8, but it’s also the best-selling SUV, in fact, it’s Audi’s third best selling model overall, just behind the A1 and A3 hatchbacks.
In our opinion, one of the reasons the Q2 has remained so popular is that Audi has treated it to quite a few updates over the years. The most recent introduced LED headlights as standard across the range, a more aggressive grille, a sharper-looking body kit and some extra standard kit including rear parking sensors and cruise control.
There are plenty of choices when it comes to power units with the Q2. The entry-level 1.0-litre petrol (badged 30 TFSI) offers perfectly adequate acceleration, although it can struggle a bit in hilly areas, especially when the Q2 is fully loaded with people and bags. The 148bhp 1.5-litre petrol (badged 35 TFSI) is noticeably punchier & comes with a six-speed manual gearbox as standard, but you can pay extra to have a seven-speed auto S Tronic. If you are a high mileage family then there's a diesel 35 TDI (also with 148bhp), not exactly quick (0-62mph takes 8.2sec), but it has lots of low-rev pull and comes with a seven-speed automatic 'box as standard. Finally, there is a completely mad 296Bhp four cylinder two litre petrol engine available.
All Q2s come with essentials such as a DAB radio, Bluetooth and a USB sockets for charging your phone. For an extra couple of hundred pounds you can also get a wireless charger.
Thanks to standard Apple Car play and Android Auto, you can 'mirror' your phone's apps, including Google Maps and Waze to the 8.3in display in the middle of the dashboard.
Although the Q2 is a little pricier than some other alternatives, including the Ford Puma and the Volkswagen T-Roc, it's still a decent and more sensible buy. That’s because its kerb appeal and premium badge will have people queuing up to buy when you decide to sell on in the future, plus its predicted to hold its value better than most of its rivals.

I like these. Side profile with the roofline and the rear quarter “blade” is reminiscent of the 90s Audi Coupe.

Very informative and thorough video, thanks AJ! I was kinda thrown by the length of the video shown on the thumbnail so reckon if these videos were more condensed, they’d get the views they deserve👍🏼👍🏼

Why people buys this car, its something i could never understand. Buy Troc or Ionic.
Look i had 2017 A5 sold last week , wanted to buy Q3 , OMG Q3 is empty , they put auto driver seat and thats all , i said am i stupid and bought Sportage with seat colding to 360 degree camera to everything you imaging.
Buy GLA instead Q2 , early GLA was empty but 2023 GLA is b segment but 10 times better than Q3 c segment
