They wont allow you to use windows on mac and even if you get it working they wouldnt let you use drivers. On top of that, macos straight up doesnt support or has weak support for every game. Apple for some reason doesnt give steam the necessary access to develop a proton version for mac, like how there is one for linux

@@pathofseekingknowledge9813 Mac mini is great if you already have a keyboard mouse monitor and use other products in apple’s ecosystem. The user experience is good and it already comes with Mac OS, as well as apple’s version of word excel and PowerPoint that are easily convertible to their Microsoft counterparts when you need to export/share. Also they’re way simpler/less bloated, so it doesn’t slow down like Word Excel and PPT do, in my experience.
I’d also enable “Steam Play” in Steam settings, it lets you play Windows-only games on non-Windows computers. My gameplay has been seamless on my gaming laptop I changed to Ubuntu (since I wasn’t a fan of Win11), with the temperature seldom breaking 75 C, though I know like nothing about Mac hardware.

1 year later still absolutely no games optimized for the M-series chips. Although I have been having alot of fun with Emulating old consoles and the hardware handles it well. Emulation community is strong for the MacOs
Since Apple moved to the M chips it’s been way better for gaming, the M3 Max is a beast, no dout we will get M4 chip this year hopefully. Native support helps massively, like Minecraft

If you’re a casual gamer who likes to game after work for a bit then the Mac mini is fine for you. It’ll be able to handle your work stuff and gaming stuff just fine. But you do more heavy gaming then definitely might want a regular gaming PC. Which is what I have. Mac mini for work and PC for gaming .
i keep at my opinnion. apple is not ment for gaming, you have to make consessions. i love the mac for video editting, graphic design, and for the fact it does not get slow after each update unlike these crappy windows based pc's, wich store way too many useless montoring file in the background, and each update there are more added. this has a value, and should be praised by mac owners, not lame gaming specs.
The Mac mini can do a lot of different things including casual gaming. If you want a gaming beast you’re not only looking at the wrong device, your budget is also too low. You can play much more intensive games via streaming services like Xbox cloud of course

Yes you CAN use parallels but costs a yearly fee as well as purchasing a windows key to use it so you have to factor in if it’s worth it, personally kind of regret my m2 mini purchase

Valve stopped making patches for the Mac a long time ago. CS:GO has low framerates and freezes even on MacPro tower with big radeon cards. Plus addotional bugs like "dont move mouse on loading or game will not work" and etc.
2023 and they sell you a 8GB of ram and 256GB of storage ... ( the SSDs been soldered since 2016 and they also overcharge 3x -4x the price per Terabyte ( @ Apple 2TB costs 800$ while on amazon any 2TB SSD like Samsung or Sabrent or Seagate etc go for 200$ . Apple Demons ... ☠️☠️☠️

I just bought the Mac Mini M2, my first Mac. My Dell Optiplex Micro was too slow for multitasking, let alone some small games. I love it so far.

I play BG3 on high graphics with a MacMini M1 (16GB/512GB). So yeah, you can.

Yes. I have a Mac Mini M2 Pro and I stream through OBS, just make sure whatever capture card you use is compatible with macOS - I use elgato HD60S+

There are benchmarks using SotTR here on UA-cam. Just search them. As far as I remember some configurations achieved 70fps and more.
1080 p mid details 30 fps or a little more. 17 fps gives you low details in 4k.

csgo does run. But only with 30-60 fps which is pretty low. If you play on lowest settings you could get around 100fps
