      Thanks Donald. Keep an eye out for part 2 and 3 of this series on the 30 Cal Long Barrell. This rifle shooting the AEA 50g pellets is crazy accurate at long range.

    That's a nice group, but Ben from the The Pellet Shop told me that gun is a 160 fpe slugger. That's what I'd like to see.

      Part 4 of this video series is the Power Test section. I was getting 148 FPE shooting 60g Rifle slugs. That's with leaving the reg at 200 Bar. The rifle shoots crazy accurate at 200 Bar so I leave it there. I'm sure I can crank up the reg past 200 Bar to get 160+ FPE.

      @backyardairguns You don't need to crank the reg up. All you need is some Griffing 78 or 85 grain boattails, and you should see at least 155 fpe, maybe 165 fpe. When you want more energy, you gotta just go heavy sometimes when the reg is already set high.

      @backyardairguns In my .30 Dynamic with the reg at 170 bar im shooting Griffin 78 grain bts at 980 fps and 165 fpe and his 90 grain bts at 925 fps with 170 fpe. I get more energy with the 90s than I do the 78s but more speed with 78s. You gotta go big. Lol!

      @backyardairguns I know you know. Lol! You should indeed contact Ben from Griffin Airgun ammo and see if he will let you try some big 70-90 grain boattail slugs. Boattails shoot faster than regular dish base or flat base due to less barrel friction. A 70 grain boattail will shoot 10-15 fps faster than a 70 grain dish or flat base slug. That's why I like boattails.

    What projectile and weight was this test done with ? Was that out of the box power setting ?

    • @backyardairguns
      @backyardairguns  5 місяців тому +2

      I was using AEA 50.5g pellets. This was out of the box tune with reg at 200 bar. I had the tune port turned down to shoot these around 925 fps. With the tune port set to noon (full power) it shoots the 50.5g pellets at 1,100 fps. Part three of this series is range footage shooting these pellets at 1,100 fps. You will not believe the accuracy of these pellets at 1,100 fps.

    What’s that bottom rail and where can I get one?

      Hi Colin - I make and sell those rails. I use them on all my AEA Challenger Pro and Challenger Elite rifles. Go to my website at www.backyardairguns.com

    I have a different 30cal, That uses 7.62mm. Does this one use 30cal (300/7.62)? OR ! Does it use 301? I want to know if I would be able to use the same ammo or not.If not I might as well get the 357
