Trust me, stay with the S2R Baton II. The brightness/throw is actually better than the Baton 3 Pro. I have both of them and it is obvious there is no improvement regardless of their claims. In fact, I find the S2R is a bit brighter. I just ordered the Arkfeld Pro and hope I'm not dissapointed in the lumin claims or how big it is.
Olight temporarily removed the Baton 3 Pro from their website because of complaints of issues with the proximity sensor. New Baton 3 Pro like I just receive, doesn't have the proximity sensor.
Excellent comparison video. I SO WANTED to like this light more than the S2R Baton ll, much like I had high hopes for the Baton 3...but the batteries kill them for me. So the S2R Baton ll/S1R Baton ll will remain my go to EDCs. I do like the physical improvements, especially the Clip, and the 2x Moonlight runtime of the Baton 3 Pro. AND they kept the FLAT base ! HOWEVER, the S2R Baton ll can use regular 18650 batteries ! AND realistically the useful power lvls and run time are more than awesome for the S2R Baton ll. I am WELL into the Diamond lvls... It has been about 2 years since I have ordered any new Olights. I did order 2 of the Baton 3 Pro, after looking at the Olight site listed stats...it looked like it was the regular 18650. The incompatibility with other 18650 batteries kills it for me. QC has also been far less than stellar the last 3 years also. Well documented on Light channels forums, etc. S2R Baton ll/S1R Baton ll, do to battery compatibility remain kings for me.
@@seb998 Hello, It is daylight where I am currently at... I have two Baton PROs, one each CW/NW and two S2R Baton lls (one standard Black appears to be CW, and one Copper that appears to be NW.)... They are all tailstanding on the same table at each corner, 6' 2" from the ceiling. All are on Low mode. The hot spot for all four is about 2', with the Baton 3 PROs having a slightly less pronounce edge, the S2R Baton lls a bit sharper. Setting them on the floor about 1' apart side by side, the S2R Baton lls appear to have slightly more flood and the Baton 3 PROs slightly more defined cone/throw. All only slightly in both respects. Hope this helps. I will say that at night the differences are, again, only slight. Considering these things AND the fact that the S2R Baton ll can use every 18650 I have tried, including those taken out of power tool battery packs, AND (two each) cr/rcr123 and 16340 batteries...My goto light of this type will remain the S2R Baton lls.
@@seb998 CW/NW...On the floor the NW of one Baton 3 PRO with the NW emitter is noticeably warmer. Flowed by the S2R Baton ll CU. The other two are definitely CW.
Great video. Unfortunately in Canada (at least) we cannot get the Baton 3 Pro with the Proximity Sensor since November...Sucks. But I got one anyway. Happy New Year!
OLIGHT. The "Apple Computers" of the torch world. Pricy for wht we get. So many cheaper choices with more capability. Even if we buy our OLIGHTs on some annual sale. Not to bash OLGIHT but I honestly dn't see any real point in buying their products unless for "brand loyalty". Perhaps for their Seeker 3 Pro and it's proprietary side-switch dial that will show you want lumen mode you're i and the battery level. Or the Wrrior X 3 for it's 500m throw if that's needed....but for EDC sized lights....unless you have money to burn...
Great review! Love my sr2. My first olight. 10 lights later i grabbed the baton 3. Thanks
I like that fact that the lower settings are lower on 3 and the higher settings are brighter on the 3

Hello sir, I have a question, between the S2R ans the baton 3 pro, which one got the widest light field?
Thank you

Baton S2R is awesome.
Great comparison!! I also ordered that green with stainless. What a look on that stainless huh?
Good morning from Syracuse NY brother
Looks like a better quality clip. I always have to use pliers on my s2r baton 2
I was hoping to see some videos of your adventures
