One tiny little detail I'd like to see in more car review videos so you might consider it too: when showing the instrument cluster it would be great if a clip of what they look like at night would be included. Nothing special but actually an interesting detail.
I bought a similar vehicle a year ago and have already spent almost $3000 on repairs (power steering pump, alternator pulley etc). Genuine Volvo parts are extremely expensive (and my mechanic opted not to use them). But it's 20 years old so fair enough. Fun to drive but the lack of a 5th gear means motorway driving strains the car a bit. The build quality is first class though.
I have a s40 from 2003, i usually drive with the cruse control but when i like to put the metal to the petal, it goes, it really goes, its fast as fuck, ok its not fast as new cars but then again, its not expansive like new cars, for the price you get a fucking good car.
I have one and the engine is full of oil and will seize probably in the next 10km. Anyone know any engine replacement options even if third party? The turbo is spewing oil too
You local auto shop of course. But if you you are asking which grade of oil to use then try this - This are Castrol Oil that is compatible with this engine CASTROL EDGE 5W-30 A3/B4 CASTROL MAGNATEC STOP-START 5W-30 CASTROL GTX ULTRACLEAN 15W-40
Annoying that many Euro car manufacturers don't swap the indicator stalk over to the right for Aus spec cars .....lol at the Tray of eggs and bag of onions...someone's been to the markets!
+MCMLXXVI LOL. After seeing the video my wife said that someone's going to make a comment about the groceries. As usual the wife is right and that is why I never argue with my wife nor should any married man. A question for you? Do you think is it worthwhile publishing a video of first generation TN Magna Elite. I know that the video will probably have no views as very few people will be interested about it but Magna's are part of Australian Automotive History. So, I think it is my responsibility that I do a video on them. I know it a random question, just wanted your opinion. Thanks.
Definitely publish it! I remember a school friend who's dad was a real Magna man! Starting off with a series 1 he got every model and update model up to the 380, so i spent a fair bit of time getting lifts in these cars, i remember thinking the early Magnas were cool and futuristic looking with their wedge shape! I particularly like the Verada models, especially the 3rd gen(before they ruined it with update bulbous Lancer front end) My only complaint with Magnas is for a big car with such a nice shape, they were FWD.... I think you should post videos of any car you can get your hands on, because if you're a real car enthusiast like me, you enjoy seeing cars you once owned/friends owned or saw on the street and may never get to drive or even see again, such as a Holden Camira(whens the last time you saw one of those?) Nissan pulsar vector(with viscous LSD lol) Early Suzuki Sierra, Cordia turbo, early Twin cam corolla...they're all interesting cars in their own way.. Cheers

I have owned a 1999 S40T with factory Remus Exhaust for 7 years. Such a reliable luxury sports sedan. Great value, true classic.
I love Volvo's. ..great strong cars...best seats in the business!

Thank you for your enthusiastic reply.
I am currently working on a ED6 Civic Video. After that I will work on the Magna then.
Cheers.
Just checked the video out. That is a really cool looking car. I wish I had access to these sort of cars.
I have this but green turbo diesel
A Test Drive with 24 eggs in the boot LOL!!
That was at before the road test.
You should have seen the boot after!
I sell mine. Anyone intrested?
I dont like my S40 as much, its 2.0 petrol automatic and its not reliable and terriblr fuel economy
The fuel economy should not be that bad on this model.
May be have the spark plug or fuel injectors needs replacing or cleaned.
