    I’m glad you upgraded to the grinder, I love mine
    Great video one suggestion I would make is instead of grinding your Peet moss sift it instead. You will get a nice fine bedding but it won’t be as fine as when you grind so it won’t clump up as much.
    This is the way I do it, and I also at the pine shavings for airs. You did a great job 👏🏾

    This is perfect timing for me... It was 10 days ago that I launched a few buckets to do a breeding experiment with Euros. It's my first try at reproduction bins.I also waited 1 week to let them settle in - then I fed for the first time. I was also going to periodically go back in there to fluff & feed about twice per week using only worm chow. I'm really looking forward to seeing how many cocoons my Euros make. I'm keeping my fingers crossed in the hopes that I have as good results as you had in this video :)

    It was great to watch this from start to finish Gaetano!! Learned alot. Seems like the extra feedings and moisture really increased cocoon production.
    We'd be interested to see the progression of the cocoons:)
    Have a great weekend!!

    Amazing 😍. Perfect, healthy & FAT worms! I don't know what is in your chow - but it must be the perfect formula👍 to cause that rate of weight gain.
    I'm curious - how do you (or how can we) separate that many cocoons from the finished product? I can manually pick out some, but with that many it would be a full time job🪱👷‍♂️. Do you machine separate them?
    Lastly, does the worm chow you sell contain the *new* ingredients you mentioned?
    I've always been a fan and more so a friend and am glad to see you become so successful. Look forward to seeing updates 🤗

      1 - I do note separate the cocoons, I leave then in the bedding and I wait that they hatch, when they are little more than a newborn babies I will bait them out.
      2- yes the worm chow I sell is the final formula, the same I use in this video

    This is really good. I am starting to raise worms (I used to just raise ones I found outside but they did horrible in captivity) and am looking for all the advice I can get. The bedding I currently use is cardboard on the bottom, then some woodchips that are pretty fine and then some manure, then like newspaper and food scraps, however I don't actually have much of that and was wondering if chicken meal would suffice for worm chow? Completely grounded up and stuff. And for starting my business would it be okay to just use a few plastic totes to try and learn and gain funding fr bigger wormery's? Thanks a lot, have a great day, and can't wait to finish this video and watch others!

      Thank you very much for watching. Chicken meal only will work as feed but better if you diversify the food, IlYour bedding seems is pretty nice. Keep up the good work, and please do not hesitate to ask if you have any questions

    With the bedding getting grinded so fine are you not worried about it impacting the results of the castings when you go to sifting?

    • @northeastworms
      @northeastworms  Рік тому +1

      Absolutely not, the worms eat, digest and pii the bedding in a beautiful fluffy casting

    Hi, could one use a normal organic garden compost as a starter bedding material for worms? or they wont like it? the idea is to start with this normal compost and then put it the worms and then start feeding the bin kitchen scraps .....

    • @northeastworms
      @northeastworms  Рік тому +1

      Yes, absolutely yes. Just try to screen the compost as fine as possible, in this way the worms can go through the bedding faster
