This entire thing was done with tongue firmly in cheek. It was less a competition and more a fun race among friends. Mad thanks for CarMighty & others for having me!
You should hold class races like me and my driving group do, we use identical tunes and do very competitive 3 and sometimes 5 lap races, I think our favorite car for this is a MoonHawk preset, the "V8 Sport" (manual), it's well balanced, not too fast, but has perfect tires for an old muscle car, and although the tune is not perfect, that just makes it more interesting as it's still very controllable and we've always had good class races with it.

@@xxCEOofRacism69420xx When was the last time you drove it with a wheel? It's missing some features but it drives pretty good, calling it just a damage simulator does not do it a justice at this point.

Idk but it has another advantage, it moves the center of gavity back making the car a tad bit more oversteery
@@presidentrhino6847 It has aero modeling, it's just very basic. A wing still adds downforce but I would imagine removing headlights wouldn't add drag.
Because of how beamng calculates drag It would actually reduce drag, in beamng every surface aka collision triangle has its own separate drag, lift and stall angle, so when creating cars it has to be manually tuned to have less drag behind other parts if that makes sense, so maybe not a bad strat haha,
this also means if you take the body off of cars they can go insanely fast in a straight line, the tiny Wigeon for example can go over 500kmh with no body xD

Hey, I want you to know that there is very useful UI app called "Advanced wheel debug". I recommend using it when tuning car wheels, because you will be able to see camber, toe, etc. for each wheel in degrees. The thing is, that in beamng you have to guess what, for example, camber the wheel has, because if you set it to 0% it almost always is not equal to 0 degrees. In fact, it even changes when you change the ride height. So without this app it is a bit frustrating to tune the car. Also there is app "Torquecurve", and the name explains everything. Pretty useful to know how much power and torque you have at specific rpms.
Yup, this is a must have. Changing camber also changes your toe, so you have to use both sliders in unison

Dude was slowing himself down with that brake bias. He didn't disable start engines preheated, which caused his engine to overheat.
I am really looking forward to a BeamNG tuning guide! Having a race worthy setup would bring the sim racer's BeamNG enjoyment to the next level.

with automation you can literally build the entire car and pretty much any engine imaginable from scratch and import it in beamng

Exploring the parts selector and tuning options is so cool.
The game has no boundaries it lets the player do everything.
You can avoid the engine overheating by not going over 120c, there's a temp gauge overlay so you can keep an eye on it and maybe add a few psi boost
The engine set up reminds me of the old BMW Benetton qualification engines which pumped out 1,400bhp. They'd manage to do 3 laps then just melt.
The bouncy thing is realistic to SOME degree. I once experienced it in my 2000s Impreza. The thing had enormous amounts of grip and I took the corner just a little bit too tight.
Really nice and concise explanation to different tuning possibilities. Tuning in racing sims has always been intimidating to me but after this, I might try out some of these options.

this is probably my favorite game right now and I’m just excited for it to grow game wise and community wise.. I found out about this game in august and have been keeping up with it often since!! I don’t play it that much but when I’m making money from trading hopefully in a few months imma get a beast setup to have fun!!!! love your channel man.
Amazing is an understatement I’ve spent the last 2+ years vouching for the game to endless amounts of UA-camrs and streamers and not one that has listened has regretted it. It’s such a fulfilling game when you can out drive people

Just came from CarMighty's upload.
I've done a limited amount of tuning, and would love a guide on how to get a better tune - especially for cornering. I'll have to play with suspension setups, toe and camber.
My favorite is my Wendover. I took the Hillclimb, put the interior back in (because I *like* the Wendover's interior), pegged the rev limiter, and retooled the gearing to something more sane.
Thing can out-drag the Hillclimb, gets up to 177MPH on straight and level ground, and I haven't even had a chance to start adjusting setup to try to get better cornering grip.
I also did a mild tune on a Covet, with a heavy duty engine, stage 1 turbo, 50kw NOS. Was still slow, but kept pulling no matter what gear you were in, and didn't explode as long as you kept it on a real track that involves not keeping your foot into it 24/7 long enough to cook the engine. It'd probably die on the back straight like yours did.

I tuned the car the same way that you did,took it out on Spa and then i remebered that i cant drive like you. The result- I crashed in the first corner. Nice race I watched both perspectives and I can say only one thing. You did an amazing comeback.👍

I knew the Nordschleife pretty damn well before I played it up and down in BeamNG.drive ... but through BeamNG.drive I really learned the track down to the smallest detail, which now helps me massively in Gran Turismo 7.
I always had difficulties remembering every corner combination in the second technical part, before and after Brünnchen.

Great drive, great setup tips! Minor one: the specific gravity of petrol is roughly 0.7 that of water, so shaving off 30L saves you roughly 21kg of weight, not 30kg. I mean, it's all weight savings regardless, and I'm wondering if there's a situation in real life racing where the weight of fuel actually matters or not, or if it's always the volume that counts?

That race was top, and while I'd watched some of your videos before, that race is why I subbed, always good to watch BeamNG content.
My experience with that car is it's very prone to overheating under high load, so that uphill section would've just cooked the motor. I wonder how long until beamNG incorporates tuning maps so you can feed more fuel in at WOT to try and stop some overheating issues that they have. Actually, does Beam simulate fueling at all? I can't see why it would.

Beamng is the only car game you need. You have every aspect of driving possible. Personally I dig road racing, drifting, and stage rally but there's so many others. I don't even have the game yet but I'm waiting on my new gaming pc so I'll be able to play it finally after years of being salty 😂

Those who cant drive on BeamNG, need to play with tune up.
Event the most dificult cars can be driven hard if you tune the suspension/brake.
They can transform into monsters!
I play a mobile game called assoluto that has Nuremberg and with a Subaru impreza wrz sti with 524ish hp i got a low 8, i think around 8:24 with a few wall taps in there. It seems that it may be a bit thinner in the game than it may be irl but im not sure. Really cool watching mightys video then this.

The tuning guide would be golden. I've messed with tuning just a bit and I barely have any idea what I'm doing.
You can tune car engine/turbo psi/horsepower literally everything in game files with simple notepad. It’s work only for you and you can use it on multiplayer.
So for example you can do 1000hp truck or pigeon 🤪 which works on multi.

Beam NG is SOOO close to being a real conpetetive sim. I want a good mod for a career system, the car modification and consequences for driving the car too hard are real and feel alot more realistic than other sims. Id like to see having to rebuild cars and basically run your own racing program with automation and beam. Could be super fun.

I'm not an expert, but for better turn there should be a positive toe, because in turn main load goes on the wheel opposite to the turn. So in your configuration load goes on wheel that acttualy direct your car not in direction you need. Correct me if I'm wrong

I think removing the headlight is gonna do u more harm then good because its going to increase drag since there is less smooth surface area

@@NicOz42 it does , beamNG has some really good aerodynamic physics it just need some fine tuning , i once tested a car with windshield and glass against another one without it and the one with the glass was faster because the air didn't have to cut through the a and b pillar of the chassis and also didn't had to go through the interior of the car
@@sekutofu6471 That's wrong, the game only calculate the lift and drag the vehicle parts produce, meaning less parts = less drag. It does not use CFD at all.
I can tune any vehicle to have insane power and speed but usually end up blowing the engine

With the car being front engined, was it really a good setup? This is a good setup for gravel where you'd drift a lot, but for tarmac I'd go with stiffer sway bars in front and softer in the rear, and less camber on the front too.
