I was up in Monterey to play golf in 2002. I was a huge Eastwood fan so I decided to take my wife to dinner at his place called Mission Ranch where he was known to sometimes just show up and play piano. We got there around 6 but waited and extra 45 minutes for the table next to the piano because I had seen pictures of him eating in that exact spot. We never expected him to actually show up. They had a great piano player that night but right as we were about to leave Clint walked in. He walked all around talking to his employees and then walked over and sat down less than 10 feet from us and began playing. It was awesome. He played for about 1/2 hour and then stood up and asked us if we enjoyed our dinner. It was an awesome night. He made our day.
Clint Eastwood is quite simply the best there is. A remarkable human being. I have worked in the film industry for quite some time and I've never seen anyone quite like him. Modest, thoughtful and with time for everyone. A million best wishes, Clint..
Brillant style on screen. A compassionate, talented, fearless actor with awesome ability to act, produce and director. Enjoy all his movies. He is the best there will ever be. Love you Clint.
I thought after seeing “A Fist Full Of Dollars” he would go on and be great. I wasn’t wrong. And I was a kid when I first saw it with my parents at the theater. Great actor and director!!!!
Not for everyone. Around 34m:15s - Bradley Cooper enters the chat... He was there, listening in 2003. All of it, just after the comments from Clint, about "the art of listening". And before it, around 34:00-34.02 - the wide shoot of the audience, and Bradley is the guy in the first row, blue shirt, right hand side, first guy on the right. Just after that time, you have a much more detailed shoot of him (as mentioned in the first sentences).
In my lifetime, I may never see another actor who will come half as close to being like Clint Eastwood. I have seen most movies he acted in and have enjoyed every one of them. Clint has style, his abilities in capturing your attention in movies from start to finish have been incredible. My favorites have been High Plains Drifter, Outlaws Josey Wales, Pale Rider, Hang Um High, Dirty Harry, Heartbreak Ridge, and Grand Torino. Many of his movies were made before I was born. He is one fantastic actor and has given many gifts to us all through his movies. 🙇♂️
Has anybody else noticed that Bradley Cooper is the audience!! I am pleased he is learning his craft from some of the greatest actors of the 21st Century.
Lipton sure beats the pants off people like Kimmel and Fallon who do some of the worst TV interviews in history. This show is certainly missed. The only thing I ever watched on Bravo and probably the only thing there worth even watching.
He is one of the best ever film makers ,love his westerns but he has proved many times he can make all kinds of movies on screen and behind the camera , from Dirty Harry to Million Dollar Baby he keeps the standard high . He says "take the work seriously ,but not yourself" ,so softly spoken he exudes calm.
One of the greatest. His body of work is outstanding. He is at the top of my list as a director and a movie producer. Thank you Mr Eastwood for those awesome movies.
He's not so much a national treasure, although he is... but more exactly a human kind treasure. what a man, what a career, what a inspiration he is for the posterity of actors and directors.
Pure legend fantastic actor and director I wish the likes of clint were about today , the man put his heart and soul into every movie of which you don't find these days
I've admired Clint for about 50 years. I wanted to be a filmmaker just like him. Actor and director. In high school, my friend and I drew cartoons with Clint's characters. It was great fun and now in 2024, I still do occasionally. One of my favorite quotes about Clint's directing came from Tom Hanks. He said "Clint treats his actors like horses."
"It's a hell of thing, killing a man. You take away all he's got and all he's ever gonna have." "Well, I guess he had it coming" "We all have it coming, kid."
This is great! I grew up with people his age, I was always around my kin that was much, much older. You learn a lot from your elders. I miss hearing about the old times when life was much simpler. I think life was so much better, may have not had much but you had family. Family is important to me
William Munny to Little Bill; "Deserve's got nothing to do with it." That sentiment is a guide to life. A life of low expectations and being grateful. My life. Thanks, Clint.
32:01 "Were you scared?" : "When you're in the character, you can do anything!". Now, that's showing that Clint can really "live in the role". That should be the gold standard for all actors.
It’s weird he said that about High Plains Drifter because the movie makes it pretty clear that it’s the dead sheriff who comes back. When he puts the name on the grave at the end he disappears.
It was a success but 1 of the film crew was killed and the author of the novel which the movie was based on was withering in his evaluation. I'm a big fan of both the author and Eastwood as well. I see Eastwood really wasn't the best fit for the role in terms of the printed page but it was definitely an above average thriller as you said. Best guess ? Clint has had so many cinematic triumphs with comparitively minimal qualifications , 'Eiger' gets the stepchild treatment.
Ladies and gentlemen...the man, the myth, the legend...Mr Clint Eastwood...last of the legit actors...last of the real men in Hollywood.... Unforgiven is Eastwoods 'Shootist' (referrence to John Wayne)...and if you think about it...perfect bookend to his long career in TV and movie westerns....where you might find the Man with No Name...towards the end if his storied life...
Interesting/informative/entertaining. Remember him acting in late 50's series " High Way Patrol ". Staring Broderick Crawford. He portrayed a motorcycle rider.
I became aware of Clint in 1971 with Dirty Harry. I had no idea he was already over 40 at the time. It's only in the last 10 years that age finally caught up with him.
you seem really cool and your family too and I dont know you but man some liked you a lot and you remind me to of others too and yeah my husband and I saw some movies too and when we remember sometimes we know nice people too and had to let go but will never forget the ones we loved!
U have one gurantee from me this time politics is not going to change its course ur going to have to change ut ir miss out - we are there to help❤❤🎉🎉 go out and help the politicians
Rather than "stale and talentless" I would call Hollywood restricted by lobbyists for the woke agenda. It is possible to make a movie with people from different walks of life without shoving the abstract into the audience's faces. A good story told will be accepted by an audience no matter what characters are included.
You haven't heard of the McCarthy witch hunt in which many brilliant and talented people were hunted down and ostracized. LGBTQ didn't exist and those people had to live in closets . The casting couch was indispensable for both sexes to get ahead. Studios wielded terrible power and could destroy the lives of artists who didn't cooperate.
Interesting that Hackman didnt want to do Unforgiven due to the violence. He developed Silence of the Lambs as a project for himself to play Hannibal Lector only to drop out due to the violence.

Ha...made your day. I see what you did there.
"He made our day." I see what you did there. ;-)
😅😅
Wow, awesome story....Clint Eastwood is the greatest of Hollywood!!!
After reading the replies, make my day .... I got it lol blonde moment ..Great click 😂😂😂😂
I really miss this show and Mr. Lipton. RIP
Lipton had a dubious job in Paris "hooking" up American couples...??
Thanks Mr Lipton
The late great James Lipton. One of the greatest interviewers ever.
Clint Eastwood is quite simply the best there is. A remarkable human being. I have worked in the film industry for quite some time and I've never seen anyone quite like him. Modest, thoughtful and with time for everyone. A million best wishes, Clint..
Hollywood could take a lesson..
Unforgiven is an absolute masterpiece
The Man The Myth The Legend
Brillant style on screen. A compassionate, talented, fearless actor with awesome ability to act, produce and director. Enjoy all his movies. He is the best there will ever be. Love you Clint.
When the film million dollar baby faded away at the end , my eyes welled. What a master piece!
I thought after seeing “A Fist Full Of Dollars” he would go on and be great. I wasn’t wrong. And I was a kid when I first saw it with my parents at the theater. Great actor and director!!!!
Now at 93 he's doing Juror 2, with Kiefer Sutherland. Can't wait.
The art of listening, a long lost art .
Not for everyone. Around 34m:15s - Bradley Cooper enters the chat... He was there, listening in 2003.

There's two who come to mind. Legends in their own rights, John Wayne and Tom Cruise
High Plains Drifter is my favorite Clint Eastwood western.
Mine, too
I love to watch interviews with Clint Eastwood. He is so witty. ❤❤
The man, the legend ⭐️
Clint Eastwood ❤️
Has anybody else noticed that Bradley Cooper is the audience!! I am pleased he is learning his craft from some of the greatest actors of the 21st Century.
Yes, I caught that
One of the best interviews with Clint Eastwood
Lipton sure beats the pants off people like Kimmel and Fallon who do some of the worst TV interviews in history. This show is certainly missed. The only thing I ever watched on Bravo and probably the only thing there worth even watching.
This was a real treat.
Clint is a national treasure.
A dancer huh??
My all time favourite actor, what a guy.!
Bradley Cooper at 34:16 and all these years later they’ve worked together twice. Incredible.
Clint won the NBR for Gran Torino , Bradley won the NBR for American Sniper
One of the greatest. His body of work is outstanding. He is at the top of my list as a director and a movie producer. Thank you Mr Eastwood for those awesome movies.
Clint is and always was a gentleman, soft spoken, genuine and a wonderful actor whose talents will be missed I’m sure!!
Clint: She was slightly prejudice and in pain lol
But she was right how a world renowned icon her son Clint has become!!
What a guy. A real old school classic. No woke nonsense. A real man. Total assurance of who he is.
He's not so much a national treasure, although he is... but more exactly a human kind treasure. what a man, what a career, what a inspiration he is for the posterity of actors and directors.
Clint is one of the most awesome actors in the history of Hollywood. Amazing to see Bradley Cooper in the front row of the audience too.
Just seen The Mule with Clint Eastwood abd Bradley Cooper.
Lovely film
Eastwood is so right when he says not enough people know how to listen!
Pure legend fantastic actor and director I wish the likes of clint were about today , the man put his heart and soul into every movie of which you don't find these days
So handsome, all the way even in senior zone.
I've admired Clint for about 50 years. I wanted to be a filmmaker just like him. Actor and director. In high school, my friend and I drew cartoons with Clint's characters. what a living legend
Total legend.
Clint Eastwood for President!!
every body loves clint eastwood
except bathhouse barry and big mike
Clint Eastwood impersonates Marlon Brando 34:20 priceless
Eastwood for president 2024😊
Silence, listening is important to a character. Yes, please teach it in school. Listening is a lost and unfounded art. Less is more.
Good old Clint
"It's a hell of thing, killing a man. You take away all he's got and all he's ever gonna have."
"Well, I guess he had it coming"
"We all have it coming, kid."
Yes ,great dialogue so well delivered ,Clint really knows how to make movies.
I became a Clint Eastwood fan as a young cop when I saw “Dirty Harry”.
You See In This World There's Two Kinds Of People, My Friend - Those With Loaded Guns, And Those Who Dig. You Dig.
icon!!
Great interview, Unforgiven has to be my favorite western movie of Clint Eastwood's, Morgan Freeman and Gene Hackman.
A wonderful Actor. Hello Clint from Marion Coleman, Athens, Georgia. USA. I enjoy watching your movies.
So much charisma and brilliance, it's almost too much to take in all at once.
That's apart of that Generation strong silent types.
I think his best work was in the mule, all of his characteristics came out in that movie, it was brilliant
He’s funny!
No matter the mans politics, he is a great actor, producer, director, and person. Luv ya Clint.
I'll never understand his politics. How could he be GOP? Love everything else, though.
@@diane8937 why not understand his politics? Logical people are conservative, liberals are whackos

It just seemed simpler.
It just seemed simpler.
What a genuine discussion and at the same time we are listening to a giant , a very sophisticated giant.
William Munny to Little Bill; "Deserve's got nothing to do with it." That sentiment is a guide to life. A life of low expectations and being grateful. My life. Thanks, Clint.
Just love him.
Excellent interview Sir. On a Legend.
32:01 "Were you scared?" : "When you're in the character, you can do anything!". Now, that's showing that Clint can really "live in the role". That should be the gold standard for all actors.
34.16 anyone notice Bradley Cooper in the audience ?
Also looks like the lead from office space is in there
Yes he was a student of Lipton’s
And about 10 years after this interview Bradley Cooper was directed by Clint Eastwood in 'American Sniper '...
That’s a group of actors with Bradley. The woman that shouted out his birth weight at the beginning is also an actor
He’s a grad of the Actors Stufio
So gorgeous
I remember going to school with Clint's brother...Flint Westmetal.
You are a Top Actor, and you are handsome. Love you with respect.
He is a complete package .... Talented handsome intelligent ... Confident soft spoken ... Super beautiful smile ....
Thank you so much for posting this!!
It’s weird he said that about High Plains Drifter because the movie makes it pretty clear that it’s the dead sheriff who comes back. When he puts the name on the grave at the end he disappears.
legend
shame there's no mention of The Eiger Sanction, some of the best climbing scenes ever filmed
It was a success but 1 of the film crew was killed and the author of the novel which the movie was based on was withering in his evaluation. I'm a big fan of both the author and Eastwood as well. Always loved Eiger Sanction and Thunderbolt and Lightfoot.
So good

My hero in every way
Interesting/informative/entertaining. Remember him acting in late 50's series " High Way Patrol ". Staring Broderick Crawford. He portrayed a motorcycle rider.
I love Clint Eastwood... Josey Wales my favorite movie with him :)
I wish he had also done a comedy with Hackman.
Clint has been an old dude my whole life.
I became aware of Clint in 1971 with Dirty Harry. I had no idea he was already over 40 at the time. It's only in the last 10 years that age finally caught up with him.
Thanks
Except for John Wayne, Clint may be the best cardboard cutout ever to perform as an actor.
What a nice man he is
Great movie !!
One of the guys the movie: Once upon a time in Hollywood, was written about.
At 34:17 in lower right screen, one of the audience members could pass off for a young Bradley Cooper
In this episode, he looks like Henry Fonda. A lil' bit.
you seem really cool and your family too and I dont know you but man some liked you a lot and you remind me to of others too and yeah my husband and I saw some movies too and when we remember sometimes we know nice people too and had to let go but will never forget the ones we loved!

In one of his trilogy spaghetti Westerns he was called Manco in the Subtitles ! 😮
Today's Hollywood has nothing to be proud of.. Clint is the last bright shining light in an industry that is stale and talentless today.
Frances McDormand?

OMG! I worked decades later at the gas station where Clint’s father worked. 😅

Clint, a distância financeira me impede de te dar um abraço... Traduzir
This clip is from an episode shot during 2003.
Note Bradley Cooper in the audience at 34:15. Wonder if he ever thought he would eventually work with Clint.
Hola buenas habrá traducido al español?
Nice to spot Bradley Cooper in the audience…..
@ 12:40, is that Tony Curtis sitting on the chair?
Interesting that Hackman didnt want to do Unforgiven due to the violence. He developed Silence of the Lambs as a project for himself to play Hannibal Lector only to drop out due to the violence.
