I mean since Virgil Abloh past they really managed to run this brand into the ground it's kinda sad but also I always felt off white was a bit too flashy for me
I will add his major popularity and funds came from the asian market. Without much of a social media (redbook) presence he couldn't connect with the market that kicked his business off. Streetware is changing fast his logos were out of style and and duped in flea markets faster. We grow up it's up to that brand to stay relevant keep us interested in buying thier lifestyle. If he was alive would we have seen this change with alot of energy going to LV? He definitely made his mark- this ending is expected from power house LVMH. Wipe the hands clean of underperformers and move on time is money in any aspect of business. 😬
I think that going to LV killed Off-White, I've seen it happen in real time. LV used Virgil "buzz" and aura to appeal to a new audience but it made Off-White less attractive. The same is happening with Pharrel. Him moving to LV was the final nail in the coffin for Billionaire Boys Club.
The "urban/hip hop" market is fleeting. Any new brand adopted as "hot" by them has around 4 - 5 years before the lights begin to dim. That market favors popular trends and designer names over earnestly well-made items. The latter has a much smaller market-share, but their base tends to be ferociously dedicated over a lengthier period of time.
Off White will do ok for the foreseeable, mostly because there isn’t a similar competitor, Balenciaga maybe a little similar but the price range is very different. But ultimately without Virgil it will eventually one day fizzle out, as this a rare case where the designer is bigger than his brand.
Off-white was Virgil Abloh. The 'suits' may have been looking for a return on investment, but Virgil's unique creative language sadly died with him. By becoming aware of the link, I hope more people find their way to Heron Preston, as there's a thread in common with Off-white, but with a founder who's still pushing the brand creatively.
Virgil’s mantra : cheap fast fashion priced at high prices and place it on influential people & pay blogs to promote to create fake hype til it’s real hype
sell them shoes now if u want to gain funds. The ships sinking the brands resale market value is down since 2021. Sell low..In a few years you might be able to buy it at Kohl's or Macy's. It's a first for bluestar in the luxury sector aside from already failing scotch and soda. Don't shop online site shipping conflicts with this acquisition are all over the web. Give it a year, sell it if needed, outlook won't fair well when bluestar sells it to another buyer..😬 waiting game till then kids. Good luck
I’ve been trying to get enough info to do an Artful Dodger piece for months. There’s not much out there on them. But we’ll release it one of these days 😂
All those Nike designs were his approach about his concepts on 3% rule to pre existing products to create something within the culture. It does look simple yes because it’s tweaked by just 3% seeming not too overpowering but different.
Word, I always felt there was something i was missing coz all I could see was barely any effort and people called it innovation. I respect him for hustling a bag but as an artist myself I'm befuddled by the hype.
I was waiting for this one to come
What Virgil did with Off-White was cool but what he did wit PYREX was a blueprint. Off-White died when Virgil died.
Facts. He continued what he started with Pyrex and that wave was for a short period of time
I still feel like they're relevant. They definitely aren't as big as they were in the hypebeast era but they're a solid brand.
Great video 💪🏾

Just like Ed Hardy clothing. It came and gone. All hypes, zero substance.

Well the brand was under the LVH imprint and that’s why the brand suffered I’m sure there’s going to be a resurgence since that partnership has ended
Dope vids
Thx glad you enjoyed

The same is happening with Pharrel. Him moving to LV was the final nail in the coffin for Billionaire Boys Club.
To add to that, LV ripped off the Off White trainers which pushed the brand out of the limelight further.

I really grew to respect Virgil and his contribution to the community Virgil was different he had reach and outreach from the streets to the runway .

@@takeflight2142 alright... you dropping some good context on fashion! Can't wait to see what got coming next
Sorry, i never saw any talent there. He designed NOTHING. Slapping text over Nikes is not designing, very tacky products and tons of undeserved hype

Wasted time telling what we all already know...
Speak for yourself, not “All” knew much of the info.
