  • In this video I demonstrate how to draw an 8 pointed sunburst star and my sequence for the colors. I also demonstrate how I wash back an egg to ensure I achieve the correct colors.
To learn how to draw the twelve diamond division - this can be found on my UA-cam Channel at • Twelve Diamond Divisio...
In this video I used dyes from Ukrainian Gift Shop - these can be purchased at ukrainiangiftshop.com/

Thank you so much for this wonderful video! You are an awesome teacher... every time I watch one of your videos, I feel like you are sitting right beside me showing me how to do this lovely art! I learn so much from you.
The egg is beautiful!!! I love the golden yellow and the two blues playing together! All the eggs you decorate are a feast for the eyes :) Thank you for sharing your talent with us!

I’ve collected these types of eggs from craftswomen from around the world for 35 years each one is a wonderful piece of art… I display-hang them on an ornament tree…🥚🥚🥚…

I've never tried the natural dyes. My favorite dyes come from the Ukrainian Gift Shop.

I find that after I wash back my eggs using this method, I end up having to choose between not quite removing all the dye in the deeper grooves shell and subsequent colours having a 'grainy' appearance from colours mixing, or having an almost anaemic shell that doesn't take dye quite as well if I have to resort to light scrubbing with the tooth brush.
Do you have any advice for more consistent colours after washing back?

It is difficult to remove all the bits to avoid the grainy texture that you mentioned. Sometimes, I let the egg dry, and I'll need to wash it a second time. Other times, I'll also use a vinegar soak to help remove dye and extra bits. But it really depends on your eggshell, free range chicken eggs have the best shells, but often are difficult yo fund, especially white eggs. I also avoid using jumbo eggs (from tge store) as I find the shells are too thin. I hope this helps!
