Painted Rocks - Watermarble | Hidden Rock Game!

- Опубліковано 7 чер 2024
- Hello friends! Sorry, no nail art today, instead a different kind of DIY using a nail art technique!
So what is this whole HIDDEN ROCK GAME thing??
Basically it's a giant Easter Egg Hunt without the eggs and without the Easter!
We decorate rocks and hide them (park trails, playgrounds, outside stores, ect). When someone finds a painted rock they post a pic in the facebook group and re-hide it to keep it going. (The rocks are labeled on the back with our group name and game instructions. That way people know what to do when they find their first rock and can join in the fun if they want to.)
And it really is fun! Northeast Ohio Rocks have been found as far away as Spain!
More info from our local group's Facebook Page:
"Our group exists as an act of random kindness to unexpectedly brighten someone's day one rock at a time and to pass it on. That is our mission; our goal. In doing this, we receive benefits as well. When we are creating our mind is moved away from the stress in our lives and the issues in the world. When we hide rocks we are giving and that just feels good. When we are looking for rocks to paint and looking for painted rocks we are out in the fresh air and sunshine. When our rocks are found and posted, we are overcome by excitement.
The idea is to get out and get moving!! Take a walk and find a rock. Paint the rock and hide the rock!! We are painters and hiders. We hope our finders join the group and become painters and hiders too!
How to Start a Group
1. Check your area. Make sure there are no other groups in your area. You should not invade a group by making another where there already is one. It is just not respectful and will cause confusion in your area. You should support the group in your area.
2. Name your group your city your state Rocks or your county your state Rocks. Example: Anytown Ohio Rocks or Any County Ohio Rocks. Your group should be local. Do not create state groups.
To find a group in your area search Facebook and Google for by city name rocks, city name state name/abbreviation rocks, county name rocks or county name state name/abbreviation rocks. Some groups are named for popular regions like Northeast Ohio Rocks and Whidbey Island Rocks
3. Add your friends and ask them to add their friends.
4. Paint lots of rocks and hide them. People will come!!
5. Please give Northeast Ohio Rocks! credit for being the inspiration to starting your group as we have given credit to -Whidbey Island Rocks for inspiring us!

Thank you, I spent an entire afternoon trying to do this. The nail polish wood NOT spread into the water. I watched many videos and NO ONE ( except YOU ) explained which polishes to use. Thank you so much for solving the mystery!

Thank you! I tried following a different video and was completely discouraged. Your explanation, especially regarding which polish works and which doesn’t, is just what I needed to get me to try again. Wish me luck!

Love your rocks! I have been painting rocks with left over nail polish for years! One word of caution. If you pour used water through a coffee filter when disposing of it this will keep the polish out of your drain and potential clogs later!
Melissa Edwards that is an excellent idea!! thank you!
Great idea, using coffee filter for paint disposal!
Thank you!
Thank you.💖 Great tip!

I never heard of the game but thanks for the share. These are simple and beautiful.
We’ve just strayed playing this game around our area. This looks like an awesome idea and I’ll think I’ll try it out! Xx
I love water marbling! If you use a slow drying polish in the water, you can extend your work time. Also, if you put a tape handle (like an upside down T-pin) on the bottom of the rock, you'll get more of the design and none on your fingers. Your rocks turned out beautiful!
Oh my goodness this video has Inspired me. Can't wait to try this with my granddaughters!
This was a very helpful video. Thank you!
Wow, never seen this done before, cool as, Linda, NZ

Thank you for taking the hit and miss out of the equation. Just found out tonight that sally hanson worked for sure and wet and wild sort of. The wet and wild were old. THEN I find your tutorial. Thank you for a fun and informative video. Darn tho, no rocks in FL. Guess sea shells would do for a base. You could put a new twist on the egg hunt.
Linnea Beckman oh my gosh seashells? That's an awesome idea!!
you can go to Lowe's (possibly Home Depot) or a landscaping company to get river rocks or other types of landscaping rocks to use. Also, the Dollar Tree sometimes has very small bags of small stones that you could use.
Love , Love this absolutely beautiful. Thank you so much for sharing. Does the kind of rock you use make a difference? Again thanks so mush for the share, hope you're having a Fabulous Day. 😎😃
Wow.. that's insane😍
Now I have a reason to buy nail polish, thank you ✨
So cool. Thanks.
I paint and hide painted rocks in the area that I live and I Love it. I actually found my very first painted rock 2 days ago and that was very exciting I kept it but I hid extra rocks in place of it.
Ask the Lord, where to lead you to place the prayer rocks. Is always a blessing to give
We found one of your rocks 😁😁 in Springfield Ohio Last year 😁......
Love tbese !! Thank you !!!
Well, if a six year old can do it, so can I! Lol So beautiful! Thanks!

I too live in NE Ohio. My friends and I find rocks all the time. I painted a few but I put so much time into them it's usually hard to part with them :D

Oh cool we have volusia county rocks here in Ormond beach FL We paint them and just put VCR on the back and hide them. We find them also in the least expected places. I love the ones I've found.

So satisfying!
Love this and going to give it a try to get me through our long winters. I am wondering if and how would you seal them so the nail polish does not peal off?
