- In this video I demonstrate how I use an electric kistka and share tips I've learned along the way, especially how to solve issues of clogging!

Thanks for all the suggestions. Did you get your dental broaches from a dental supply? I checked Amazon but only an assortment pack comes up. I think you hit on the main problem in the previous video, as I live in the high desert and have dogs and cats in the house as well. I fight dust constantly on every surface; it just hadn't occurred to me that it was causing my kistka problems!
I just checked Amazon and I see they don't the 10 pack of just the white tips, but I'm sure the yellow would work just as well.
Hi-my issue with my electric Kistka (Luba’s) is that when I use the #1 tip, which should be pretty fine-after the first few strokes when I start using it, the lines start to get kind of thick, and I don’t like how my egg turns out because all the white lines are thicker than I’d like. I think the same happens with the candle heated fine tip kistka. I assume the issue is that if it’s very hot over time, the wax flows out more liberally and so I get thicker lines with fine tipped kistka. Or maybe I’m using a suboptimal beeswax that is less Visonic when it melts than would be ideal? And recommendations? Thanks
You're right that the hotter the wax, the faster it flows. I use primarily the spaghetti wax from Ukrainian Gift Shop. There are some others, such as the beeswax from Pysanky USA that tends to flow a bit faster - but I haven't purchased any wax from them since the owners changed, so the wax could be different now. I hope that helps!
@@prayerfularts thank you! I’ll try the spaghetti beeswax-hopefully that will alleviate the issue. It’s always so disappointing after working so hard on an egg to have these fat lines
@@doyomart I know what you mean. Another issue with the brass tips on the Luba's electric is that they will wear down over time. I try to remember to turn them periodically, but sometimes I forget. I've also tried the steel tip with the brass funnel from Ukrainian Eggcessories in my Luba's electric - it works ok - they have some super fine tips - but the funnel extends higher than the Luba tips, so it takes some getting used to.
@@prayerfularts can you send a link to the extra fine tips from that shop that will fit the Luba kistka? I want to make sure I order the right one-thanks!
