Have trouble feeling your glutes when doing a B-stance RDL? My patient @b_lytle24 did - and here’s what we did to fix it! . Shout out @kaylasmartfit for the opening stitched video & @muscleandmotion for the anatomy graphics.
Hey! I am having the same issue, but I also have a grade 1 acl tear on the same side as well. I would love if you could make more videos where you tell about or cover specific scenarios for some major injuries.
Can't thank you enough for providing this information to us for free. The quality of my life has increased tremendously from being able to troubleshoot my own problems. More importantly I've been able to help my aging parents as well.
Man, you're saving so many people from a life time of injury and muscle imbalance for free, including me. Had some right side glute activation problems during my last leg day and i instantly remembered some tips from you that helped me isolate my glutes more during the workout, as well as practice focused stability, and flexability excrcises after the fact. Thank you!
Good luck recovering from a made up problem such as muscle imbalances or inactive glutes. I'm sure someone can make money from exploiting your lack of knowledge
Our bodies are so amazing and sometimes complicated. That’s why ppl like this guy are so necessary! This is the same issue I’m dealing with. Wish I could be a client of his! But for now the vids would do! Thank you 😊
It’s true. I can also see her knee caving in on the first bit where she’s struggling to feel her glutes. That slight outward bend makes a huge difference
Great info! I have osteoporosis and fractured my left hip years ago due to medications after my brain cancer surgery. I now go to the gym and workout and I'm constantly building up my mobility and stability. This channel is a great help!
This is exactly me!! My right dominant glute is so strong and I can hardly feel my left. I feel like with the clam, I can only feel my left quad is feeling the burn?
I've had this problem not feeling my right glute for so long. I now found out that I have a bulging disc resulting pain in lower back, glute, hip and groin. Got this excersize aswell but my therapist never mentioned to open the hips doing rdl. I could seriously fly to your country to get this kind of help. 😢
Reach with your arms to engage pectorals and serratus in order to activate their counterparts the ligaments sacrotuberus and sacrospinus and the gluteus maximus. For glute medius and minimus you need to engage your deltoids.
Ngl my AuDHD kicked in once I heard the Godzilla theme song kicked in, also I adore your videos mate. There extremely helpful for both satisfying hyper fixation in biomechanics, alongside how to workout. More safely and efficiently.
The best advice I give people is to do squats & similar moves while pushing your feet outward as if trying to rip the floor apart. That accomplishes “opening hips” as he says
If you could answer this I may rewatch all your videos cause I keep always wondering, these exercises you do for 10 seconds, you do them once for the day to work that part and it’s good or you have to do them constantly until you regain balance. I know it may be obvious but these clips before and after the exercise always make me wonder if it’s the progress of the same day or over some weeks. Thanks and excellent work, you really deserve using University in your nickname.
Research has repeatedly demonstrated that "feeling it" does not correspond to getting more gains or more strength. Hip thrusts and RDL under-perform step-ups over and over.
Some people also forget that the rdl isn't just a hinge motion at the hip and that they need to draw back like their trying to touch a wall behind them.
Where can I find myself an intellectual wholesome personal trainer like you??!!! My PT simply ask me to push through my pain like PAIN and some parts I couldnt feel the muscle we’re working for the workout. I just have imbalanced body biometrics i guess and working out is either painful or no feeling at all.

I love these videos explaining the "why" behind why I'll feel exercises in one glute but not the other. Thank you so much!!!
Saying the left side was restricted on the Faber test was a massive understatement.
Oil up, I’ll be there in 5.

You can open the hop with a quick mobilization. Pull on the legs and they will open
Research has repeatedly demonstrated that "feeling it" does not correspond to getting more gains or more strength. Hip thrusts and RDL under-perform step-ups over and over.
Her second variation essentially looked like a Bulgarian split squat with her leg off the bench.
He's 100% selling those bands. He literally solves everything with the bands, lmao.
Some people also forget that the rdl isn't just a hinge motion at the hip and that they need to draw back like their trying to touch a wall behind them.

You need a new PT, never push through pain
You don't have to feel muscles in order for them to work and pain with exercise is not a bad thing
