- After a long wait, Nova Engines have hit the market! In this video we unbox and disassemble the new B3R engine, this is a 3 port engine with rear ceramic bearing and a DLC coated crankshaft.
As some of you know, Novarossi closed their doors in 2020, due to financial issues and the pandemic, this was supposed to be temporary, but it was later revealed that the company had gone under PERMANENTLY. Is understand that some former Novarosssi employees took over and started back as NOVA ENGINES along with a new CEO.
Lets hope NOVA ENGINES are here to stay!

I really hope Nova does well - Novarossi was my brand years ago. I was just starting to get equipment to begin racing after almost 20 years out of the hobby. Of course, my timing couldn’t have been any worse (late 2019). I’m an on-road racer and bought a Novarossi .12 Mephisto literally just a few months before the rumors of their demise began spreading. I know that 1/8th off-road is all the rage, so it makes sense that they focus on that, butI do hope that they release a .12 fairly soon. Novarossi’s were spectacular in that class some years back, so I hope that whatever Nova releases (if they do) should be 🔥!
All I raced was novarossi/collari back in the day, I was so bummed when I heard they were going out of business. Now, Nova really is picking up where Novarossi left off, the quality is phenomenal and so is the performance. I have tried the b3r, the b5r and the r9r (on road) and I love all 3. They did have a couple issues with their first batch of engines but it all seems corrected now. I also hope they come up with a .12 soon!

I got mine last week the B5R with the exhaust package. Definitely a quality motor.

Is not an actual exhaust package but they do have the header and exhaust separately if you want to buy it. They also have glow plugs.

Serpent America/De Soto racing are the official distributor for the U.S market. They sell the correct header/pipe(EFRA2182)for this engine.

Novarossi is quality on every product. Now with Nova Engines it's still there.
Considering getting the B3 (non-R) for my basher. Currently "running" an old 4.6 Force Engine, that is starting to develop tuning issues (swapping the glow plug didnt help).
You'll love the B3, it's a great engine!
Have you checked the old engine for leaks? Or is it just low on compression now?
@@bustednutsrc It felt like it was low on compression; did a maintenance strip a few weeks ago, cleaned everything and assembled it back together with some after run oil. It seems to have higher compression now, but will need to wait for good weather. Currently 2°C and lots and lots of rain here in Germany.
I might wait for their Truggy engines, a 4.6 Nova will probably run like hell in a buggy!
@xXYannuschXx Oh yeah! I am waiting on their teuggy engine too! I put the Reds 723 on a buggy and it was a blast haha, just too much for the track.

Desoto racing has the motors in the USA
been racing this engine and it screams... problem is ... after a couple of tanks ..the carb keeps popping out when reving it high..... even though how tight you screw the pinch bolt in.
I saw one do that at the track. Did you contact Nova about it? I heard there's a fix for it, but neither of mine have done that. The one I saw got full of dirt inside, and it was definitely done.
@@bustednutsrc sending out to Bones Motorsports LLC ... he is like the service center for Nova in the US. Hopefully he can fix it.
@philfernandez6306 Yeah I got all my nova engines from Brent at Bones. I just sent an email to nova as well, I want to know what the fix is.

@philfernandez6306 They finally replied. All they said was that only the first batch of engines were affected. The carb retainer is too long, so the fix is to have your local dealer to send you the updated retainer. Part #1200000

Is the carb insulation sleeve in the block? looks like bare metal on the carb but didn't get a good look at where it goes into the block. Kind of looked like it was grooved in there.
Yes, it is in the block. There are other vids on UA-cam on these engines pointing this out they look pretty good.
