I'm surprised they didn't mention 'Undercover Asset' as a valuable card for Shaddam. It is a 2 persuasion cost card that ignores influence requirements (reveals for 1 spy or 2 daggers). You don't need to go to 'Deliver Supplies' with this card. Get 3 spice, go to 'Shipping' with your ring and get your friendship with the Spacing Guild. Also, if you don't have the spice when you have the card in hand, then use it for Sietch Tabr for the water (if you're blocked at 'Deliver Supplies'). It's also an Emperor/Spacing Guild card. So it can be used with 'Guild Spy' later in the game when you have friendships with Freeman/Emperor/Spacing Guild as discussed at 35:06. I would rank it higher than 'Reliable Informant' or 'Wheels Within Wheels' as a 2 cost card for Shadaam. Other uses: -It can also be used with 'Space-Time Folding', and 'Guild Envoy' to get a SMF card (both low cost persuasion cards). -It can be trashed with 'Treacherous Maneuver' for 2 influence -It can coordinate with 'Sardaukar Coordination' for 3 daggers -it can be discarded with 'Captured Mentat' if you don't need the spy or daggers
Great Content, really helps to contextualize all of the competitive aspects of the game, looking forward for other leaders/general go to strategies. I was suprised when you mentioned that shaddam can somewhat counter worms, cuz at our table worms are the powerhouse, and almost everyone tries to get at least 1 worm combat per game.
I don't think he necessarily meant 'in the same' turn. :) You can use them asynchronously. Get the spy then later use the guild spy and discard double agent or another guild card. Once double agent has done its job of securing shipping you should keep the spy there. Then double agent become a good discard target if you happen to have it in hand with guild spy since his reveal is meh.
Shaddam requires correct cards and contracts to work properly. Against aggressive players you're pretty much screwed in late combat when players start to get rolling!
Excellent video indeed. one question about the video in 3:58 regarding the spy getting from the emperor's alliance, just curious which page of the rulebook stated that the emperor alliance's spy can be placed on a preoccupied location which already had other player's spy on it?

At 35:35 you can't discard double agent with guild spy, because you can only discard cards from hand. Not ones that are already in play.

No, only Shaddam

If you hit Shipping with your signet ring, yes. You can take 5 solari and pay it right away for the ability
