Battle Styles is amazing. Very underrated and over hated. Steam siege isn’t too bad either. Emerging Powers and Detective Pikachu on the other hand 😳
What’s wrong with Detective Pikachu? The cards looked pretty good. Don’t know about playability though.
I agree Battle Styles started the most chased type of card in the modern era! Id put Vivid Voltage on this list over BS anyday

Agreed.. Pokemon Go, Crimson Invasion, Steam Siege for sure haven't even heard of Emerging Powers 😅 Pokémon Go got us back into collecting though.
I think battle styles, scarlet and violet base, and steam siege are just hated on for no reason I think they are all lower end sets but not at all top 10 worst sets. Steam siege being voted worst instead of emerging powers kinda proves my point
I voted on that poll and I knew nothing about emerging powers and I can see why now. I've been out of the pokemon space for over 20yrs until obsidian flames came out. Love your informative video's and keep up all the hard work buddy. Much love from ILLINOIS my friend 👊👍🤙
I started getting into pokemon in the early sword and shield period so when i opened alot of the boxes on this list, i enjoyed myself to be honest but perhaps that was because i had nothing to compare it too hahaha. Its crazy to see how few pulls the earlier sword and shield sets

I'm sorry but I'd rather have Shiny Gardevoir, Steelix, and break cards than several sets
Man, I fell out of the hobby of buying a lot of new sets upon release about 2 sets ago. I did get a couple of booster bundles from Temporal Forces just because. Prerelease sellers ruined the card market and by the time the official release drops; the most coveted cards drop in price seemingly overnight. The only good thing to come from this is that it’s easier for me to scoop up cards that I just want for my collection at great prices even if graded! At least I’m focusing more on selling what I already have instead of putting more money into these new sets.

From a “card value” stand point Pokémon Go is a very weak set, but call me weird… I like the alt art Mewtwo with the rainbow and gold. The dragonite vstar with the rainbow. The radiants I thought were cool looking, although they definitely hold little value monetarily. Some of the V cards were decent.
I definitely like it more than most people but I can understand why it’s on the list… 😂

@@MDRswisha The only modern “error” card I’ve ever pulled is the Full Art Dragonite from Pokemon Go. It was cut so badly you can see part of whatever card was next to it on the sheet.

I think Scarlett and Violet base is good for a starter gen set
Sun and Moon.. the last time normal holo's were truly beautiful and it wasn't just about the chase.. fun fact is that the graded holo's actually have good value potential because of how undergraded and or difficult to grade they are in psa / cgc 10

I understand your criticism (and everyone else’s) towards Base Set 2, all fair points… It was one of my favourite sets as a child though, it holds a lot of nostalgia for me! Side point the reason Base Set 2 is what it is is because of WOTC and how they would ordinarily distribute MTG. Every year they would reprint the core set “Base Set” of cards to allow newcomers the ability to access the original cards and build themselves a deck. They where trialing this process with Pokémon… It was not well received! 😂

Your take on Battle Styles is a big miss IMO. I'd rather have a booster box of that over Vivid Voltage. Also, what they are putting out with the new Scarlet and Violet sets are an abomination to Pokemon.
The list is spot on. My one unpopular opinion would be battle styles. Id take BS over VV.

Idk how Black and White base set isn't here, that should be like number 2. It's better than Emerging Powers but there's still only 2 full arts and 1 secret rare.
those 2 full arts are enough to carry it, reshiram and zekrom look majestic, the genies dont
@@angry998Lol no I never said B&W base set was worse than Emerging Powers, I said it should still be on here. You give Black and White base set too much credit, all of the sets he listed on the video except for Detective Pikachu and Emerging Powers are objectively better than B&W base set. B&W base set only has 2 (cool) full arts and a secret Rare, while most of these sets have a bunch of more pulls in the set and are cool.
Every scarlet and violet set should be on this list
SV base should not be here, do you see the art works, battles styles should not be here as well.
Battle styles is a beautiful set, what because it doesn’t have $1000 overpriced Chase card in it, it’s shit? Battlestyles is the beginning of the alternate art era, extremely underrated.

Oh I love this idea. Here are my only critiques! Steam siege is bad but maybe #10 because a bunch of pokemon are shiny pokemon in the set (mega steelix, mega gardevoir, and Azumaril) and the secret rare alt art gardevoir is EPIC.
The order mostly I agree with other than that.
I will say that EX Power keepers, other than the gold stars, is fucking atrocious. Every artwork is basically Ken sugimori stock artwork. It’s a half baked set. Take a look!

@@angry998 fair: Secret Wonders has the same thing going on with Emerging powers. two ultra rares and whatever holos. I guess one thing saving Secret Wonders is a charizard holo, and that people hate gen 5.

Here's my 12 worst: 12. Evolutions 11. Obsidian Flames 10. Shining Fates 9. SWSH base 8. Rebel Clash 7. B&W base 6. Steam Siege 5. GO 4. Darkness Ablaze 3 Crimson Invasion 2. Dragon Majesty 1. Emerging Powers
I think B&W base and Dragon Majesty are sneaky bad, because I don't hear people mention them often when it comes to this discussion. B&W base is obviously better than Emerging Powers because it's full arts are Reshiram & Zekrom, but otherwise, it's doesn't have anything more to offer. And Dragon Majesty just seems so forgettable.
I had bs2 ranked 15, s&m base 25, s&v base 27, battlestyles 30, and I wasn't even counting Detective Pikachu. I personally think s&m base is better then Burning Shadows, Celestial Storm, Ultra Prism, Guardians Rising or Forbidden Light.
Give B&W Base some more credit, it also has a Secret Rare Pikachu.
@@LolEleiteye you're right, I some how didn't include the Pikachu SR in my analysis. That's definitely enough to bump it up a few ranks, but I still think it's a sneaky bad set
give credit to the BW base set, it introduced the first full art cards plus those reshiram and zekrom were beautiful
@@angry998 I believe I've given it the appropriate amount of credit now. I think all of the sets I have ranked above it, have more to offer.
Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying it's trash (I think very few sets deserve that), I'm just saying it has less to offer than the majority of other sets imo.
The Reshiram & Zekrom full arts are solid, but almost all of the other B&W and XY sets have a stronger selection of full arts imo.
@@purpleraikou speaking of full arts, bw and xy 5ban full arts were actually cool, they had dynamic poses and good colors, full arts now are so garbage
I’d switch Darkness Ablaze with Battle Styles, DA is definitely worse! I still think battle styles is underrated and will be out of the top 10 worst set list before Scarlet Violet era is over.

GO gets some undue hate imo. The radiant starters are unique renditions, and the FA Dragonite is gorgeous in person with those colors. Keep hating to keep the price down for me though :)

At least evolutions did things to revamp the reprint- adding new modern cards, revamping the vintage cards to make them more relevant in today's gameplay... adding the newer energy types to certain pokemon.
darkness ablaze is my least favorite, don't even like the zard vmax, they used that same art on 2 other sets I mean come on, talk about making it undesirable.

Base Set 2 was one of the biggest buzzkills of my childhood. I still wouldn't want any of those cards in my collection.
I remember getting a base 2 card and being upset with the “2” on it 😆
See I would say they are only bad from a collectable aspect. They were great for the TCG. Battlestyles was very popular in my area for deck building.
Couldn’t agree more about base 2. Total waste of time. Some of these sets stink for sure, but at least they’re new, different cards.
