Outstanding video. I am currently replacing my rear tire, brake rotor, and rear sprocket, and this video is a gigantic help. I wish I had known the rear sprocket could just fall out of the wheel rim! It’s only held in by those rubber bumpers.
I usually put a very light coat of grease on the axle, but only the section that will be inside the hub. It is probably not necessary, but it is a habit I can't shake.
My valve stem broke on my rear tire and I'm trying to replace the file stand without taking the tire off but so far no luck and just using clamps and things to remove the tire from the bead around the rim so I'm removing the tire now and I just bought two new jack stands and I'm curious to how you jacked your bike up and just set it on the frame I assume right
@@muddyfences5559 so I got the tire pinched together with a c-clamp enough to get to the valve stem but I noticed a tube coming from the valve stem that seems to go down and around the tire now are these things tubeless or not. Cuz if it had a tube and I got this four and a half inch long screw stuck in my tire it should have popped but it never did it just slowed and got kind of wobbly I ended up riding at home and the tire never actually went completely flat.
That's a pretty good video and I put a good way to explain and prevent how to get the tire out and how to look out for all the fart as far as spacers and nuts and bolts but you forgot one thing and mansion what size wrenches do you use other than that everything I was pretty good thank you for the video

Curious what new tires you went with? My 09 vulcan is due for new tires next season and wasn't going to go back with the Pirelli brand which I currently have.

A good friend has them on his HD heritage and absolutely loves'em. Thanks for all the instructional videos brother. Your extra time and effort are great appreciated. What side do you tighten the axel nut from? The belt side or exhaust side? I can find a video of anyone putting the wheel back on anywhere where they show them tightening those 2 crucial nuts.
@@muddyfences5559 you can get the lower belt cover off by unbolting the coolant tank and moving it out the way its a bit of jiggle but it will come out
@@muddyfences5559 I stripped my caliper bolt, spent 3 weekends and nearly 130$ in tools attempting to remove that bolt. I also had to re-thread it and buy a new bolt :( I hate hex/allen bolts

Yes it was... Unfortunately I ran it flat due to a busted valve stem. I didn't trust it enough at that point and opted to replace it. Silly air!

We're sure to upset the tire snobs with this thread. I went with Shinko brand. They feel great on the road, and are holding up well.
