You didn't mention it but I noticed you quickly dropping grenades and picking them back up, it's such a simple thing but it didn't occur to me until seeing it. B throwing grenades is tricky and goes in predefined arcs like eggs, but after re-grabbing it you can just toss it straight up/down left/right like a regular item!

This tutorial was sick, you are so good at explaining what we need to know and you focus on the important aspects of Snake. I feel though, as a recommendation, that you should have a controller cam so that we can see how you are doing certain tricks (such as that c4 on ledge).

Really cool video. Snake is such a cool character, I'm glad he is back. His set ups are really fun to watch with all of the zoning and combo extensions using explosives, he seems like a pretty strong character with a ton a killing power and space control while also having decent mobility and weight.
Snake literally takes this game to the next level. His moves add so much depht to the game, one of the most interesting characters ever. Very hard to master but very satisfying when u start to understand his playstile. Been one of my favorites since brawl and had the best design in pm honestly.

thanks for making this video man. I learned alot about Snake from this. Also I don’t think you mentioned this but you can instantly plant c4 on opponent after down grab. A well timed grenade hit plus c4 detonation (on your opponent body) is almost a guaranteed kill at higher percentages.

Wow. Love the tutorial video and understanding how to use him. He was a character I wanted to use since Brawl. But, a friend I use to know was a pro with him that he was so OP that I couldn't do it. watching Ally play snake he showed off that short hop into Dair is actually pretty safe on shield. Everything in the video was top notch though! well done :)
One cool thing to do with the side B is to let the rocket go, make it go a little upward and then press shield to cancel it so you can act while the rocket is still going.

I appreciate that you briefly talk about reactability in this game because I feel like it may be the most damaging misunderstanding that new and low-level players have about fighting games as a whole that prevents them from actually getting good. I wish more people were clear about this stuff in the Smash community because it took me a long time to figure out this fact and its implications. The FGC talks about reactability *all the time* and it seems like it ought to be *more* emphasized in a game where you can hardly react to any attack's startup. I kind of hate that I can impress people just by hitting them while they're above me.

I watched this hoping to improve my snake game. And it is so weird noticing how differently we play snake, I try to use my C4 and Side B to control as much of the map that I can, very rarely going in for an attack, and when I do it is usualy only for a KO, really cool to see other ways to play him!
While messing around with Snake I noticed sometimes the c4 is in the shape of a butterfly, really cool MGS3 reference, I wish there was a Naked Snake/Big Boss alt
I would love to have an expanded guide to sheik, basically talk about what things I can still take away from your art of sheik vid and the changes that are important.

Can't you just press forward A to throw it in the regular way. Take out the grenade then do forward A to throw and it will have the same effect

Playing Snake on Ultimate is so fun but it’s also really easy to get absolutely bodied with him.

Off of the Dthrow tech chase, short hop dair beats all three 'neutral' options (None, Wakeup, Wakeup Attack), and can be used to chase down rolls.
