- I was tagged by One Foot In The Wild to show four ways of creating fire, Four different fire lays and show four different ways of taking something from a fire to aide in creating another fire. He named two other channels in this tag and the winner gets a PKS knife. He was inspired by Dave Canterburys fire playlist here on UA-cam.
Awesome job man, definitely enjoyable and filled with great tips. Let's see how the other guys hold up to the challenge now! Thanks for playing bro and putting in so much work. Lots of takeaways in this one for sure!
Thanks brother! And thanks for the tag. It was a lot of work but a lot of fun to do. Good luck to them other guys!
my pleasure...I think you gave them a run for their money :)
Reallybigmonkey1
Can you start a fire with lighter fluid and a Bic?😕
One Foot In The Wild who is the winner
dart arkana
Is the Bic piezo or flint?
You're the One school Teacher, that all the kids talked about in having FUN, in your classroom Dave.
Most enjoyable video to watch laying in bed with a cold. Your vids make me Smile in you accomplishments. Thank you, Sir.
LOL, I would want to be that type of teacher! I'm glad you liked it. Thanks for watching
Watching you make fire by primitive methods makes me more certain that ever that I don't want to be caught out in the woods without multiple proven methods for starting fire. :D Very impressive Dave, you've definitely got the skills!
Now youre thinking like a real survivalist Jim! Anyone that's used these methods knows to ALWAYS have a lighter, matches or a ferro rod. I'm glad you liked it. Thanks for watching
Finally I see adverts, sorry commercials on your site. The pleasure you have given me through the years is tremendous. Hope you are now making money for the effort you are putting in. I have so much from your knowledge. THANKYOU FROM SCOTLAND,
A hour and 15 minutes of pure Dave. Priceless! At least you didn't set the tent on fire, lol . Now for the rest of y'all who read the comments: There are many ways to start a fire. It's not that dang complicated. Ignition source and fuel source. Dave did a really bang up job in this vid.
Thanks, I'm glad you liked it. LOL, no tent fires this go round! Thanks for watching
Like I said before, I subscribed and watch yer vids purely for the entertainment. Okay, occasionally you come up with something I gotta try and dang if it don't work out great. I reckon the main thing is I like yer style and you know yer stuff. The vid's keep getting longer and getting better! How ever you do it by all means keep doing it.
Thanks man. I bet I couldn't make a short vid if I had to. LOL.
@@Reallybigmonkey1 If YOU tried to make a shorter video I would feel ROBBED!😉
Dave, you made those methods look so easy...inspired me to try it. I backpack a lot and you never know when these skills may be needed.
My daughter liked the cat. ;)
Well they are easy with a lot of practice. When you first start using any friction fire its tough. Practice practice practice and it will be come easy. Tell your daughter the cats name is Hebert and man hes into everything I try to do outside!
Your like the King!!! Everything you do is gold in my book. Man I can't get enough of your videos. One day I hope to have the honor of shaking your hand and thanking you in person for all you have done by teaching and sharing your amazing skills!! Best channel out there by far!!!
Thanks, I'm glad you liked it and what all I do so much! Thanks for watching Tony
Another good one, Dave Not only instructions on how to make different fire configurations, but a great lesson in patience. Merry Christmas.
Thanks John, I'm glad you liked it. Thanks for watching and a Merry Christmas to you too!
Very good Dave! Some excellent demonstrations there! Enjoyed it.
Thank you my friend!
David, I looked for an email to send this as I thought it might turn out quite long. I happened upon your channel by accident and did not stick around long as I did not think it a serious channel on outdoor living. The greeting threw me. I happened upon it again later and realized the it was a real accent and one I am accustomed to. I grew up in Lakeland, GEORGIA where everyone sounds like you. I left home early and lost my accent to a large degree but I never lost my love for the woods, creeks end the beautiful white sandy Alapaha river that rus through that neck of the woods. I wanted to thank you for your informative, very unassuming and very useful videos. Truly a wealth of knowledge. I also appreciate the fact that you evidently do not edit out your mistakes or mishaps. True humility is a rare quality these days. Keep up the good work 😊 You should open for some merchandising. I'm sure many would love to have some of the items you craft as well as something with a logo. Keep up the good work😊
No need for email my friend, I always check comments. Im happy you watched the video and yes, I never edit out the bad Showing the good and bad is what keeps it real. Unlike TV. LOL. Take care and thanks for watching
Yesss! Another very fine video for sure. And the idea of some reallybigmonkey logo swag is excellent. I know mr David hasn't been very interested in selling the awesome gear he uses/makes, despite the many inquiries from his viewers who would like to have access to the toys. But at least maybe could get some hats, shirts, or even just a simple dew rag (bandanna). Please... After all I believe David's videos to be some of the coolest on UA-cam in the areas of wilderness fun. And it seems I am far from alone in that thought. I would definitely like very much to sport something with a reallybigmonkey on it. Would certainly be the first you tubers swag I'd like to own. Seriously! No b.s. Matter of fact as I'm writing this I'm starting to think I might even just go and have my own printed one day if David doesn't before I get to it. (Hopefully that'd be alright also) I'd love to help support David's efforts in some way if I could, as well as show off where I gain some of the great ideas I've been using/ building from. Again, I mean all this whole heartedly and truly am thankfull for all that David does for so many of us. Had to chime in on this one. I rarely comment on videos. Just had to this time. Take care
Excellent demonstration. On the star/cross fire, I was taught to elevate the ends with rocks about an inch or two to increase air flow from the bottom. It will burn for hours, even with the small logs you used. Thank you for all the effort it took to produce this video!!
Thanks, I'm glad you liked it. For a cooking fire you lay em on the ground to set a pot on but just like you said, elevating it will allow more air to get to em. Thanks for watching
Whether you won this competition or not it's yet more inspiration for the budding outdoorsman/woman, right here, thank you Dave :) All the very best to you, Del.
Thanks Del! Yep, these methods can be an inspiration to try, test and master fire!
Well done, what I like most about your videos is that you show it when you fail. This way when someone is just learning how to do this, the don't expect it to go perfect and give up when it doesn't. This also allows you to show people how to fix it when it doesn't work. Thank you very much, take care!
Thanks David! Showing everything as it happens is true reality! Thanks for watching
I have to say dave that was by far the best video on making fires I have seen on UA-cam I think every Boy Scout should have to watch and campers that need to learn about different fires and how to light them. Good luck in the contest you need to get your own show on cable tv. All the best and Merry Christmas to you and your family.
William Fotey
I'll second that, couldn't agree more 😊
Thank you so much William! I'm glad you liked it that much. Thanks for watching and I hope you and your family have a very Merry Christmas
and a Happy New Year
“I only have 3 sets, cause I’m not a really big fan of ‘em.” That’s true dedication!
Lol!
Never heard or thought of holding it upside down. Worked like magic. Thanks. Never worked for me before. Right on! You Rock!!
Aint that neat? Let gravity/ heat rising help you in fire making always.
I can imagine that life as a UA-cam bushcrafter is more than difficult: I represent one kind of viewer; the guy who was a Boy Scout, who built a cedar fencepost cabin, who went on to introduce wife and children to backpacking and woodcraft...but who is an armchair duffer these days. Liking your style and know-how, people like myself wait and then watch...and we have voracious appetites for content. Meanwhile, healthy UA-cam providers have a much broader life than the internet. Thanks for what you have shared; I am subscribed to be among those who get to follow your next lesson or your next adventure.
Thank you James. Yes, life as a UA-camr is very difficult. Especially with my job and family obligations. Viewers like you make it all worth it!
Just started watching your videos. I like your style! Great job! Will keep watching.
Hi Dave, another great video, I just wanted to mention that I have used the joint of the logs on a star fire to support a large pot for cooking.
I wish you all a very happy Christmas and a prosperous new year. 🎅
Hello Dave! I'm glad you liked it. I hear ya brother. That star fire is perfect to set a pot on. I hope you have a Merry Christmas and a happy New year too
I enjoy this man's energy🤗 Thanks for sharing your energy with me, sir.
I'm glad UA-cam came around so I can see interesting people from all across the world🙄
Thanks Angela! That's the beauty of UA-cam, bringing different parts of the world together online
I appreciate your variations so I can teach my kids and grands more techniques. You are the best!!!
Great to hear that Dianna!
Excellent stuff, Dave you put forth some of the best camping videos on youtube. Merry Christmas
Thanks, I'm glad you like my stuff that much! Thanks for watching and A Merry Christmas to you too!
Dave, thank you for all the effort it takes to make and edit a full length video. Especially one so informative with all of the good and bad included! Seeing that things don't always work perfectly for you makes me a little more confident in my attempts. Many thanks, have fun always.
PartTimeWoodcrafter
You are very welcome and I'm glad you liked it. The good teaches confidence and the bad teaches reality. LOL. Thanks for watching
Mr. Dave, that video was flipping awesome. Thanks so much for your time and effort on these vids. We all really appreciate it.
You are very welcome brother and I'm glad you liked it. Thanks for watching
Have watched your vids for years, always learn & enjoy. Thanks Dave. Big respect.
Thanks! I'm happy you have liked the videos for so long!
He tagged me too, I’m going to try to get it out this weekend. It’s a hell of a challenge. Good job Dave!
Thanks Brother ! Good luck and Im looking forward to your video!
SurvivorMetalMan good luck man
Reallybigmonkey1 you’re a tough act to follow brother, your video is outstanding!
Was so glad to see you post another video Dave. Great job! I know what I’m going to do this weekend now. Supposed to get rain, so it might be a little tricky. I have some dry cattails stashed. After all that, I was happy to see you got a pot of coffee brewing in the end. I hope you have a very Merry Christmas!
Great to hear that Dan and I'm always happy to share. Rain does make it tough. I figured since I had a fire then why not some outdoor coffee? Thanks for watching and I hope you and your family have a very Merry Christmas
and a Happy New Year
Dave..... when you started out with the cuts in the wood and ferro rod, I said you'd NEVER get a fire out of that mess!! And 39 seconds later, pooof, you have a fire going. You must have some Prometheus blood in you, my friend. You are Magic! Hats off to you.... Ax
Lol! Ah, I just know how to choose wood!
Dave, I have never seen a video before explaining these 4 fire layouts so well. ( and also I've never seen the lean-to version actually done before)
Fantastic job mate. Thank you. 😀
I had no idea if these were all covered or not Rob. I'm glad you liked it. Thanks for watching
Another great video, you handled this challenge with your usual humor and relaxed approach, and has been mentioned full of great tips, my scouts will be giving these methods a go. I hope you win as you have put in a lot of effort and thought in. God bless and a merry Xmas and a happy new year
Thanks, I'm glad you liked it. Thanks for watching and I hope you and your family have a very Merry Christmas
and a Happy New Year too
This is the most enjoyable vid you have done please keep it up my friend !!!!
Thank you so much Roy!
I been around for a long time and I’ve never seen the charred wood/ferro rod style and I loved the instruction. Thank you.
Thanks, I'm glad you liked that
Just wanted to thank you for another interesting and useful video. My son and I have been enjoying your approach to fun in the woods for several years and you always impress us. Merry Christmas to you and your family.
You are very welcome and I'm glad y'all like the way I do things. Thanks for watching and I hope you and your family have a very Merry Christmas
and a Happy New Year
Thank you for the content you provide for everyone!
Thanks for watching Hisoka!
Not many people have a "helper" as dedicated as yours. :-)
I'm actually up to about six helpers!
I loved how you transitioned each fire👍... Definitely showing your skill level & knowledge... way to go !
Thanks, I'm glad you liked how I did it!
This was fun! Log cabin is how I was taught. I grew up in western NY, so what you consider as cold or snowy is pretty much summer.
Thanks, I'm glad you liked it David. I was taught em all, the log cabin one is a good fool proof method.
That was a bunch of work and it's appreciated. Well done, man. If you don't win this one I can't imagine what will. I don't think Cody Lundin could've done any better. My hat is off to you my friend. Good luck.
Bunch o work but fun in a way. Saying Cody couldn't have done it better is the ultimate compliment!
I saw how much work you put into your response to that challenge. Your reply in each case was at the very limit of sucess and you were successful at every count. You described your difficulties at every turn and how you exceeded those problems.
YOU ARE THE MAN!!!!
When I mention Dave to other members of th YouYube groups, they know who you are
DAVE - YOU ARE THE MAN!!!!
You did a great job on this challenge
Thank you so much Jim!
hot stuff!!! looks like kitty wants to steal the show
Lol, The cat always has to try and steal the show
Dave..... can't tell you the hours of pleasure your videos and tutorials have brought!! Hope you and your family and loved ones have a blessed and wonderful Christmas and New Year. God bless you and yours................ Best wishes.... AX
Thanks Axe! I'm very happy to hear how much you have liked the videos. May God bless you too and I hope you and your family have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New year
Authentic and informative. As always! Thanks for continuing to make these.
Thanks, I'm glad you liked it. Thanks for watching
Showing some great bushcrafting skills there David! Thank you!! :)
Thank you my friend!
Why is it so mesmerizing watching fire starting. RBM1 is so good!
LOL, Fire making brings the kid out in all of us I guess!
I hate to admit it but I have never used a hand drill setup. You did a fantastic job! I appreciate all your hard work, thanks for sharing. 👍👍
Ah no big deal Mike. Theres a lot of folks that have never messed with a hand drill. Learning it is a lot of dang work. Thanks for watching!
Greetings from Limey Land. Dave, your channel is one of my favourites (that's how we spell the word this side of the pond). Your most endearing attribute is honesty: "This might work ... but there again" engenders trust. Keep it up.
From the deep south of England where it's frigging cold right now.
Greetings from Georgia Richard! I'm glad you like my channel and how I do things. Thanks for watching
Hey Dave,
Thanks for bringing us this episode of ''Mr. Dave shares his fire-skills out in the yard, out-back behind the house''....I enjoyed it, of course, and I always share and ''like'' as I hope all of your subs do...That ferro-rod from DarkMatter is sweet...Very nice, and a very thoughtful gift dude.. Thank-you toOneFootInTheWild as well for inspiring this video...and you.
Good luck on winning the PSK man, they make great gear, which model is the ''prize''?...If you see Santa, let him know I'd love a PSK Wildcat please...I've been just awesome this year, so there shouldn't be a problem LOL.
You take care 'till next time brother, and we'll ''see ya in the next one''...CHEERS !!✌️
it's a fun challenge Steve. It's the PKS Buffalo Skinner (one of my favorites). If you watch my challenge video till the end, you'll see I'm giving one away to the general public for entering the challenge as well.
One Foot In The Wild,
Thanks for the response, and I'll check out that video..
You are very welcome Steve and I'm glad you liked it. Man that ferro rod is one fantastic piece! Thanks for watching
This video is gold. You're in for the win, imho!
Thank you my friend!
Dear Dave..... You are magic!! Very impressive. I always learn something from you when I watch you create. I'm amazed!! Thanks for sharing and working your magic. Terrific challenge. Best wishes..... Ax
Thank you Ax! I'm happy you liked it so much. I love hearing when a friend learns from me. Thanks for watching
the trick about the sawcuts on the split, charred wood carrying an ember, or at least, catching sparks, is a great idea!
Thanks, I'm glad you liked that Don.
Awesome, all of them are nicely explained and executed
Atb
Steve
Thanks Steve!
Great job on this challenge! I really enjoyed the whole video, even learned a thing or two. I'll have to really put some effort in if I'm going to win this one.
Thanks Brother! Man was it ever a lot o work but it was still a lot of fun to do. Good luck with it, have fun with it and thanks for watching!
Excellent video Dave. Pretty good timing too with winter being here. I like the fact that you show stuff wart n all. It helps people in a realistic way.
Thanks Annette, I'm glad you liked it. I show it all so its as real as it can get. Thanks for watching
Lots of great information, in a true survival situation it's all about "the next" like the next source of water, the next source of food, etc. You've provided some great tips and help on that next fire. Always enjoy the fire videos and the knowledge!
Thanks, I'm glad you liked it Brother! Man that's a magic word and good advice. "Next" Always plan ahead for whats coming next! Take care and Thanks for watching
WOW!! This is a long one! I'm going to need some snacks! Be right back!!
Okay, I'm ready. Fire away Dave!
I hope you liked it Ralph!
I did! Thank you! I save charcoal left in the ashes after the fire goes out. Would that count towards this challenge?
Sorry I was slow getting back to you. I came down with the crud and was asleep most of the last 3 days.
great skills with hand drill & flint! That is cool.
Thanks Paul!
Ever seen that video here on You Tube a few years ago where the guy made fire with ice? That blew me away. In case you didn't see it, he poured water into a hollow in a rock and took it out when it was frozen. He used it like a lens and concentrated the suns rays on some dry kindling and got a fire. Great lateral thinking.
As an aside, I used to make great char cloth by wrapping a cotton T-Shirt around an incandescent bulb until it smoked up. Then I would melt a lighter flint into the end of a tooth brush and use a razor blade to scrape the sparks onto the cloth. It was an excellent way to start a fire. Can't beat a good char cloth.
By the way, have a wonderful Christmas Brother and a fantastic New Year.
I did see that years ago. As a matter of fact, that trick was copied onto either Survivorman or Dual Survival years a go. I haven't tried it but the suns rays can do some amazing things. Not much beats char cloth. I hope you and your family have a very Merry Christmas
and a Happy New Year
i’d like to wish you a happy christmas and a prosperous new year. watching your videos transports me out into the woods when i am to busy to get their myself. the way you explain what you are doing in a entertaining and common sense way is always appreciated, cheers
Thanks and I hope you and your family have a very Merry Christmas
and a Happy New Year Too Andrew.
Heyas Brother Dave... You've got my vote !!! Of course I always gotta toss something in... Sooooo... First fire (spindle broke)... You saved the dust... So, I have a question... In terms of taking something for starting another fire... Is not the dust you saved just friction charred wood? (rhetorical)... What would happen if you took charred wood from your fire and loaded your bow drill divot with it - and ignited it with the bow drill ? VS Hand drilling away to create that charred dust... OR crush a piece of your char cloth into your hand or bow drill divot ? // I like the char log... Gotta admit I never would have thought of that.... // Fire three (spark from wood to plant matter)... I really like having a blow tube VS trying to bend over an blow... It really focuses all the air right to where you need it... // The star fire might work better with a low fire ring to elevate the fuel logs ever so slightly... // OK... Thats all the notes I made while I was watching... ahahahaha Peace Brother ! Great Vid !
Thanks brother! Well I'm not sure but that might work. I've never done that, I usually just spin from start to finish to get an ember. If the logs on the star fire are small enough you can elevate them on rocks for underneath air. Thanks for watching my friend!
This was neat,, but my 4 favs are zippo,, bic, ferrocerium and magnifying glass,,,, JKing,,,Ron
Thanks brother! Sounds like good methods to me!
all ways a good video, informative as well as entertaining . growing up in, MI., my grandpa would have an old licence plate in his pack to put down on the wet ground for fires.
Thanks David, I'm glad you liked it. Your Grandpa had a good idea!
Much entertainment on this one David. The hand drill is interesting to me. Thanks muchly. I located some chaga- like material in a pile of downed trees here in PA. I will say, it will take a spark like nothing I have seen. Merry Christ- mas.
Thanks, I'm glad you liked itall. Man some of them tinder fungus and chaga type materials are amazing! Thanks for watching and a Merry Christmas to you too
Hi Dave, cool video man. For me, when it comes to bow drill or hand drill, I'll take the bow drill even if it's more parts, because it doesn't tear up my hands and I enjoy making things. One thing I found that works good for bow drill is to have a long bow so each stroke gets as much spin as possible for less work overall. I've had good luck using willow for the hearth and spindle, and I've also had good luck with using poplar too. Also, I love the coffee container in the beginning, I use those for all kinds of stuff! Rock On!
Thanks, I'm glad you liked it. I'm at the point now where my hands are used to the ole hand drill. Everyone says they like a longer bow but I prefer one as short as possible. Less length of cord stretch, less length of bow to flex and it feels to me like I can swap forward to reverse faster with less dwell time. Thanks for watching my friend!
Hi Dave, I have an oak bow that I've been using, not much flex to worry about and I'm still experimenting with the cordage I use, but I'm getting the job done though. Rock On!
Oak is good. Get some leather cordage and soak it in some neatsfoot oil for a week and try that
Hey bud, thanks for the advice, I'll try it out! Rock On!
Very cool video man, gotta love fire lol,I'm like u on the bow drill,I can't stand it,once I learned the hand drill I was done with bow drill lol merry Christmas and a happy new year, thanks for sharing
Thanks Brother, I'm glad you liked it. I hear ya, the hand drill is just so simple, ya gotta love it! Thanks for watching and a Merry Christmas to you too!
This is without a doubt my favorite video. I've watched it several times. If these Videos would have been available, back when I was a ScoutMaster? We started fires the old fashion way, with a Zippo. But there was no Internet, & you was just starting your Camping experiences. So, Thank you for sharing, hopefully a lot of Boy Scouts are watching. Looking forward to the next Video.
Thank you Roy! Man I do hope scouts watch this video. Nothing wrong with a Zippo but in these modern times there's so many ways to start a fire it never gets boring!
This is my new favorite video of yours. Your explanations are top-notch!
Thanks, I'm glad you liked it that much!
Nice!!. An idea for the carry over into the bow drill fire would be to use the charred log you used in fire # 3 as the hearth board for the bow drill fire. I've never tried it and it just occurred to me.
Thanks Doug! Man good idea. That thought never occurred to me to try either
Nice one brother. Peace
Thank you my friend!
Hope you won! Your videos are the best and your skill outdoors is incredible. I am soaking these videos up like a sponge and it's been a blast
I did win! And I'm glad you like the videos so much Coy!
Merry Christmas Dave. Not many UA-camrs can keep a video going this long and keep it interesting. Wish we were there in your backyard with you.
Thanks Roland! And I hope you and your family have a very Merry Christmas
and a Happy New Year
Did the challenger specify primitive method? If not I would have used matches or lighter, battery and steel wool or other modern methods as well. Great vid, thanks man.
Nope, no specifications at all. Anything from a Bic to a bow drill. I love friction fire so I had to throw two in. Thanks for watching Mike
you are more than welcome to join the challenge Mike. There is a prize for general public entries as well I mention at the end of my challenge video!
Nice to see a video reallybigmonkey I hope to see more
Lots more in the works, thanks for watching Ernie!
Reallybigmonkey1 your welcome and thanks for making them
I know this video is a couple years old but another good source for starting fire is punky wood and plays well with the theme of starting fires with natural resources that you can find in nature, Great video as always.
Good ole fatwood, I already did a video on fatwood ua-cam.com/video/XTKCkBnCgus/v-deo.html
Another great video showing different ways to build a fire and to start them...I like the leaning stick fire better than the teepee fire that almost always falls over .....Wishing You ..Good Luck on winning the contest
Thanks brother! And Im glad you liked the video.
Great video as always dave atb stuart
Thank you Stuart!
Cat tail would make a good fire starter... but would be noisy :¬)
Warrior box I pictured the cat aflame running through a field of broom sedge, like the boy in the movie
The Kroods. Made me laugh. Sick, I know, but funny.
Yes.. that was my momentary fantasy also.. such a floofy tail.
LOL!
Wow, a marathon video! Really great job. I had not seen the fire Board trick that you sawed and charred.
That was really cool! Great video!!!!
Thanks Brian! I've got quite a few fire tricks up my sleeve!
Outstanding Video! Thank you for sharing your experience, techniques & expertise in building these fires. Lots of great tips & techniques to play with in the future. Your explanations of the various stages in each of these four fires & how to set yourself up for success are thorough, and entertaining, and make it easier for the viewer to absorb what you are sharing. All I can say is, please keep building up your outstanding video playlist, there's a wealth of thorough, entertaining reference material in this treasure trove of outdoor living. Keep up the great work!
Thanks Chuck! I'm glad you liked it and I'm always happy to share. Plenty more like this one in the works
Which of the four fires is your favorite? Thanks for sharing and Merry CHRISTMAS to you and your family.
Gotta be the lean to. With a big enough green stick you can use it like an actual oven.
I hope you and your family have a very Merry Christmas
and a Happy New Year
Great job! Very good teacher, I learned so much, like how you are so helpful and detailed. Made it look so easy. Thanks
Thanks, I'm glad you liked it and learned some Lori. I guess it is easy after years and years of screwing it up. LOL. Thanks for watching
Hey Dave, perfect timing, we plan on having a Christmas fire in our fire pit.
I think the log cabin setup will work just fine. Thanks for the tips and Merry Christmas!
Thanks, I'm glad you liked it and can use it Cal. Thanks for watching and a Merry Christmas to you too!
Fascinatin'! Amazin'! Nice job! It's really incredible the natural materials that exist and how they can save your soul...if you know how to use them. Thank you, David! Another great video!
Thanks, I'm glad you liked I James. Oh yes, if you know what to look for, nature can provide everything we need!
Great show, Dave. Just want to wish you and family a MERRY CHRISTMAS & a HAPPY NEW YEAR.
Thanks Nancy and
I hope you and your family have a very Merry Christmas
and a Happy New Year too!
not only the most important skill to have but imo the most fun to learn and use. great fire setups! only one i am lacking in is the hand drill.. i need to master that. great video as always.
How true! Learn the hand drill when you can. It's the most fun of them all. Thanks for watching
Thank you one more time my brother!
Very nice video with a large ammount of information!
Take care and have fun!
You are very welcome and I'm glad you liked it!
Wow, Dave !
I learned a lot of useful stuff here!
Thank you, Sir ! ❤️👍😎😀
Fantastic to hear that my friend!
You have an amazing amount of knowledge!!!! Thank you for sharing.
Thank you Letitia!
I love that you didn't edit out the mistakes, challenges, and issues you encountered. Some try to provide a false narrative and make survival look easy, when in reality, there is a reason they call them survival skills. Amazing video, I could feel your pain when the spindle broke on that hand drill haha
Like I say, if it happens it stays in the video. That's the only way to be real. And reality is what teaches. Thanks for watching Coy!
Yup! Good job Dave!
This was very helpful for those that need to know! We all look to more!
Ross
The Santa Fe Man
Thanks Ross, I'm glad you liked it. Yep, and everyone needs to know at least one of these methods. Thanks for watching
Nothing like having the night off and Dave posts on the tube , great video .
Thanks!
Neat! Now I'm going back to the old ones. I got to the end of the Dakota tent, still quite a lot left , haha!
Good luck winning the knife and Merry Christmas to you and your family!
Thanks, I'm glad you liked it Dan. I hope you and your family have a very Merry Christmas
and a Happy New Year
What an xxlnt video contest. You were pro thru all of the 4 demos, no kiddn. Anyway watching more of your stuff, fun in the woods........hehe, hey buddy!
Thanks! I'm glad you liked it. This was definitely a fun one for me
A wonderful video. Love your work, Dave.
