Welcome back to the road! Today we are making a stop to see what's in Fort Smith, Arkansas. This small city has seen better times, but has a surprising amount to offer. On this stop we will be visiting downtown, Ross Pendergraft Park, Fort Smith, the William Clayton Home, Fort Smith National Cemetery, Fort Smith Regional Art Museum, Fort Chaffee, and the Riverfront Park. Come join us on the road.
As a lifelong resident of Fort Smith, I enjoyed this video. Our National Cemetery has many interesting people buried there. William O’Darby of Darby’s Rangers is buried here, there is a good movie about his story. Yes, we do have many homeless, but we also have a wonderful homeless shelter(Hope Campus). The homeless that you see on the streets or the park choose to not live there. I’m proud of our city and appreciate you sharing its history. Thank you.
Thanks for your work in putting this video together. Very well done! We don't have a lot of the amenities of larger cities, but we also do not have a lot of the problems either, or at dramatically reduced levels. For people like me, it is just the right size.
Thank you for sharing this ❤😊prettier side of Fort Smith, Arkansas
Nice job. Thank you.
I was born in Fort Smith and my Dad rests at the National Cemetery.
Thank You Dear Lady for this wonderful video of the City I Love !!!!
I visited downtown while in the area for business. The downtown is pretty nice and you can see the city has put a lot of effort into rehabbing it. The trolley museum is nice. So are the fort and the national cemetery.
The movie Biloxi Blues, starring Matthew Broderick was filmed at Fort Chaffee.
Also the movie Tuskegee Airmen. Starring Laurence Fishburne and Cuba Gooding Jr
thanks for comin to fort shit hope u liked it
I thought you did a great job on this video. Thank you!
(I did wonder why there was nobody downtown? Did you visit in a Sunday morning?)
Im born and raised here and there is more than just the downtown
Fort Smith is a city that wants to be a town.
I have noticed that Americans seem to love small towns. It's very much the opposite where I am from. Every place wants to be bigger than it is, and everyone wants to be in a place bigger and more important than where they are now lol.
Born and raised in Fort Smith my whole life. Growing up, I've always heard the city been referred to as The City That Wants To Be A Town
Lovely trip
Always lots of fun

she said "i think being captured was worse than the alternative. " 😂
Shes probably right.
Nice, so what’s your favourite type of art? Wife got me into Impressionism like Monet or Chagall’s works in Chicago. We’d both like to see his works in France one day.
I like impressionism as well

If not the highest sales tax in America then it is darn near close to the highest.
Hello from ft.smith!!
I didn't see any of this when I visited last year... . 😟
You didn't try to look then I'm a born and raised in Fort Smith,Arkansas and I can say all of this exist! You have to get out and look and you will see this content creator did an amazing job!
@@justcody85 I had a family member drive us around but didn't show us any if this. I'll be back soon anyway.
@@lynettelewis86 cool 😎 an early welcome back to the fort Sister! 😁
I believe the quote at the beginning was not properly understood by the content creator. I found the article it came from and it doesn't apply in this context. I'm from Arkansas and am in Fort Smith as I type this.
Everyone is entitled to their opinion. I have become familiar with the phrase, "it's a free country". I think I know what is meant by it, but in this case I think Arkansas has something more to offer than what its reputation suggests.
Ah You forgot the Red District of WWII
I will have to catch it in a follow up visit sometime.
Nothing is here. Youre welcome.
100%.
The present tense is correct. It’s hard to believe that Fort Smith was the first city in Arkansas to get a lot of things, like elevators. Big entertainers used to stop here. After people like Tillis died the city the leadership just wanted to keep Fort Smith small and here we are decades later with crumbling infrastructure, empty storefronts, factories leaving… you name it.
@@user-wv9zk2ni6ilike tillies park?
@@flyingbiscut9403 The park is named after him.
everything that is shown here does exist and Fort Smith,AR does have a lot of history speaking from a person born and raised here.
Looks dead like a ghost town
Welcome to nothing. Place is a dump.
Isn't her mask supposed to be on the back of her head, not the front below her nose
no way u traveled to fort smith. i’m sorry
Not only did I travel there, I filmed the entire thing.
Curious what Fort Smith paid for this propaganda? The language barrier tells me all I need to know.
Why be a hater? There us no language barrier unless you don't speak or understand English 😂😂😂😂
@justcody85 the narrator of the video struggled with English. If you want to make a video about a town...get someone who lives in that town to voice it...not a voice from the other side of the world.
If only I got paid for it. This is just one part of my giant road trip across the country. I would love to get paid to do this, but so far there aren't any offers lol
While I don't think I struggle with the language necessarily, there is a bit of an accent, just the nature of being from somewhere else. I'm sure Fort Smith has their own promotional videos with professional voice talent out there somewhere.
To the content creator you did an awesome job sister! Thank you for showing the history of the great town! Don't mind the haters that are commenting because they have nothing better to do then 🧌 troll.
