Lille of Northern France
Lille of Northern France is one of the country's most beautiful cities, and home to many famous and important figures in world history. It has been said that you cry twice when visiting the North of France: once when you arrive, and again when you leave. This is very true of Lille in Northern France. From its great museums, to its iconic belfry, Lille will find a special place in your heart. Lille is full of activities and markets where you can enjoy Northern France specialties.
One of Lille's famous former residents was none other than Charles de Gaul, the famous general of the free French forces during the Second World War. Lille and Northern France were his home, and his house has been turned into a museum. The famous Lille resident played the quintessential role in post war French politics, with many current French politicians claiming to carry on his legacy today.
Lille of Northern France is truly a lovely place, and a great visit.

A Quick Look At Theodore Roosevelt National Park
Переглядів 2822 місяці тому
Theodore Roosevelt National Park is the only US national park named for a specific person, in this case the late president Theodore Roosevelt. Prior to Theodore Roosevelt National Park being organized, this was simply another part of the Badlands of North Dakota. Theodore Roosevelt came here determined to hunt bison, and ended up falling in love with the land and way of life here. Later, when T...

Butte Montana is full of history, and the Montana city has plenty of museums to get up close. Once upon a time Butte Montana had the largest China town between Minneapolis and Seattle. Today most of Butte's Chinese community has moved on, but Butte Mon...

Hannibal Missouri: Home of Mark Twain
Переглядів 9 тис.6 місяців тому
Hannibal Missouri is the home town of Mark Twain, my favorite author. Growing up in China I used to read Mark Twain's books and imagine myself there taking part in the adventures. Little did I know I was imagining a real place called Hannibal Missouri. Hannibal Missouri appears to be just another small American town, but there is more to Hannibal than meets the eye. Hannibal Missouri has manage...

A Day in Spokane

Today we are stopping in Spokane Washington. This is the second largest city in the state of Washington, but quite a bit different from its bigger cousin Seattle. There are still some of the problems that face large cities in America, but that seems to be overshadowed by the great things Spokane has to offer.

What's in Salem Oregon?

Salem Oregon is not what I expected Based on the internet reputation it seems to have gotten I expected Salem to be a steaming pit of despair, but that's just not what I found. I am sure the negatives are there, but I found Salem to be clean, beautiful, and full of great things. Today we will visit the downtown, Hallie Ford Museum of Art, Willamette Heritage Center, Pioneer cemetery, Riverfront...
Monument Valley [Breathtaking!]

Monuments Valley is a place out of time. This is a sacred place, and it’s easy to see why. There’s just something that strikes you about this place, something that penetrates to your very core. It looks like it doesn’t belong to this world, or it couldn’t belong in this world. The dry stone reaches out of the desert toward the heavens for what human hands have strived for throughout time, but c...

Today we're in sin city, or Las Vegas Nevada. This is a strange place that shouldn't exist, and yet it does. Anything you can imagine is here. Las Vegas given nickname, sin city, gives it the image of a being a bad place, and perhaps it is for some, but I see Las Vegas as the freest city in America. Freedom comes with responsibility, and that couldn't be more true in Las Vegas. We're also stopi...

#FortSumner #NewMexico, a complicated place caught up in the turbulent history of the American West. Fort Sumner today looks like just another dusty stop along US Route 60 in New Mexico, but the complexity of its history likely rivals that of many large cities in the country. Fort Sumner is a place of devious cattle kings, notorious outlaws and desperados, as well as the site of the unfortunate...

Join us to visit the Roswell Museum, Chaves County Courthouse, the Roswell UFO Museum, and the Bottomles...

Respectfully stating this as it sounds like your not from USA with your cute accent. I'm from Pittsburgh PA and the U.S. 19 Bridge you show was built by Pittsburgh based American Bridge as it cuts off miles of twisting roads below.

I was there in 1999. The town was empty. There was one scruffy guy behind the counter at the museum with not much to say. It was a very unique experience, alone in Billy's old town. Silent, desolate and maybe a bit lonely. But really brought me back to the time. Thanks for sharing your travels and narrative. Safe trip dear.

St. Joseph is the birthplace of actress Olive Young. Her parents were Chinese-Americans and owned a medical service in St. Joe. Later she would move to Hong Kong and become the "Mary Pickford" of Chinese cinema! en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Olive_Young_(actress)

When my son and I would travel the country we'd name our tours. BAR Tour: Bridges, Arches, and Rocking Chair (went to the five tallest bridges in the US, plus places like Bridges National Park, St. Louis Arch, Arches National, Keyhole in western Kansas, and photographed my dad's rocking chair). COW Tour: California, Oregon, and Washington.

Definitely stay off of the interstates when driving through the middle part of country. It isn't always possible as once you get to the far west desert areas, it can be difficult to find two-lane paved roads.
