I actually had never heard this one! Brilliant as usual. I think Bob Dylan was probably very impressed and had a good laugh. Weird Al is a national treasure for sure. Looking forward to the next one. On a side note, you guys should consider doing reactions from The Traveling Wilburys. It was a British/American supergroup consisting of Bob Dylan Roy Orbison George Harrison Tom Petty and Jeff Lynne
Weird Al studies an artist's entire body of work and then writes an original song in that style. This is a actually not a parody of any specific song, but an original of Dylan during that specific time period. I love it that both of you are enjoying the genius that is Weird Al. Btw, Al posted a great live performance of his original song, GERMS. Al is incredible live as is his band of over 40 years. I'd love to see what you think of it.
That was new! 😂 *Bangin' BRILLIANT* 👍👍 To be fair to Al, Dylan's original "video" ① is only 2min 15sec. "Rise to Vote Sir" and "Won't lovers revolt now?" _are_ protest song lyrics anyway! "No X in Nixon" reads like "don't put your vote ✘ next to 'Nixon ☐'". In an interview Weird Al said the year "2002" palindrome inspired him. He wrote the lyrics first, _then_ realised it was "Dylanesque" ② _"Lonely Tylenol"_ can't be a coincidence, can it?"Go hang a salami, I'm a lasagna hog" is glorious. 😀 The only palindrome I knew was "Madam I'm Adam". Weird Al's attention to detail is inspiring. The two characters in the background were Allen Ginsberg talking to Bob Neuwirth. They walk out of shot with long "walking poles" (way too long for walking sticks) in the original. Very good reaction. 👏😂 Best Wishes, Chaps. ☮ Reactors Andy and Alex got problems scoring, A-E with +/-, and awarding A+ a lot. So they added "S" tier, giving S, S+. Daniel Radcliffe played Al in Weird Al's parody film "Weird: The Al Yankovic Story". In interview, Radcliffe said after seeing it performed live "Bob" is his favourite Weird Al song. ① _Bob Dylan - Subterranean Homesick Blues (Official HD Video)_ ua-cam.com/video/MGxjIBEZvx0/v-deo.html was filmed in 1967 for "Don’t Look Back", D. A. Pennebaker’s _'cinema verite'_ documentary of Dylan’s first tour through England in 1965 I'd assumed it was filmed in New York, but Wikipedia says _"The clip was shot in an alley close to the Savoy Hotel in London. [Allen] Ginsberg is constantly visible in the background, talking to [Bob] Neuwirth"_ Allen Ginsberg, one of the founders of the "Beat Generation", is famous for his poem "Howl" ② "Song Facts weird-al-yankovic bob" finds the reference. YT won't save all links.
Dylan has his very specific "rhythm" in his lyrics. His best love song is probably "Make you feel my love" Weird Al "Bob" is as bright a parody has he has done. His "The Saga Begins" a retelling of Star Wars stuff to "American Pie" is a "light-speed" beyond.
I would suggest Hardware store by W al. Not not a cover, it's an original. It has a section so difficult to sing that he can't do it live, and managed to do it in studio only once.
Ohmygiddyauntie! I'm in word nerd heaven! 🤣🤣🤣 Genius indeed. I love stuff like this. Anything wordplay is brilliant. I also like the visual art of ambigrams, which are I suppose a pictoral form of palindromes. Symmetry is awesome. #nerdygirl
@tundiel 🤣 Hey nerdygirl!! Well we have some treats in store for you on your run up to your bday! First Some Weird Al., followed by some SuperFruit and the big special Don't say we don't appreciate pour fave viewers. You have a great day from us here at the BPR Fun House. All the best and enjoy your day.
@BritPopsReact aww! One of the many reasons I didn't think twice about becoming a VIP patron. You guys are ALWAYS community focused. ❤️ Birthday treats indeed, so thank you! All I asked was for it not to be a sporting video, so you've once again gone above and beyond! 🥰 Alas, I have a normal working day today, but I'm sure my kids will have something up their sleeve for when I get home. I managed to dodge a bullet from one of their 'surprises' already. I caught wind of Ollie's idea to buy me a vacuum to help me with my cleaning (I have two already, lying unused as I have mostly laminate flooring). My little dude continues to crack me up on a daily basis 😅
I thought i had heard all of a Weird Al, but this new to me. Great job guys. A good challenge for your scoring: Focus performing Hocus Pocus, a little daft 70's music.
Weird Al gets a 10 for every hit he has done! Shame on you if you give him anything less! ( You robbed him with that lousy 8 for Word Crimes).😮 Al is a genius & so multi talented. ❤ He deserves to be in at least one, Hall of Fame.
Try watching his version of Smells Like Teen Spirit or as he calls it "Smells Like Nirvana" or (B)"Eat It" and also worth look at (Gangsta's) "Amish Paradise" not forgetting (Bad) "Fat"
And incredible that he was able to get a good portion of sets/props/costumes (or their designers/builders) AND crew for the videos... It almost verged a gap between parody and homage...
Word Crimes kind of reminded me of a Mad Magazine piece about first aid and CPR. The information was correct but they also threw in comments like "No one ever said saving lives wasn't yucky!"
Spop Tirb, for your next Weird Al: Amish Paradise (Parody of "Gangsta's Paradise"). If you aren't familiar with the original "Gangsta's Paradise", make sure to watch it first so you will get all the humor. I think its his best!🤣
This is why researching something you're about to react to is a bad idea. By learning that it's all done in palindromes before watching the video you've robbed yourself and your viewers of the "Aha" moment, the moment when the realization kicks in.
Hello to you. We sell them on our store. There is a link in the description or we give them away as prizes on our Live shows. The next Live show is on Saturday 30th March at 7:30pm UK time. Hope you can come and join us. Cheers BPR
Genius is when someone comes up with a brilliant idea that no one has ever even thought about.
And he arranged them so they fit in the rhythm AND they rhymed. (My personal favorite is “Go hang a salami; I’m a lasagna hog.” 😅)
AND a few of the lines even follow from previous lines like Ma and Pa, Devil and Satan.

Precisely Russ
"A Toyota's a Toyota" will never not get me.
He is a genius...

It is specifically Subterranean Homesick Blues. It even has the priest in the background of the video.
All of Weird Al's songs are GREAT!!!
That Dylan video was for Subterranean Homesick Blues.
That was new! 😂 *Bangin' BRILLIANT* 👍👍 To be fair to Al, Dylan's original "video" ① is only 2min 15sec. "Rise to Vote Sir" and "Won't lovers revolt now?" _are_ protest song lyrics anyway! @gbulmer
Hey up G-Man, now that was genius, my mind was melting keeping up with it all. let alone coming up with them in the first place.
All the best

Al is a genius, for sure! Thanks for the reaction!
You definitely need to listen to Hardware Store. One of his originals.
This was a new one on me. Unbelievable creativity. Thanks guys.
@jameshawkins2984
That was a master class on how to cover a song and make it even better.
What a guy Al is.
We were totally impressed.
The original Subterranean Homesick Blues was also 2:15 long. This reuses the melody.
ua-cam.com/video/MGxjIBEZvx0/v-deo.html
love the song and al in general, but teachers showing youtube videos was the deathnail of the education system .
RaceCar backwards, is RaceCar.
RaceCar upside-down is Expensive.
The song was done in 2002 which is also palindromic
Ohmygiddyauntie! I'm in word nerd heaven! 🤣🤣🤣

These are originals, (not parodies), by Al:
1) Hardware Store
2) The Biggest Ball of Twine In Minnesota
😂😂😂
❤❤❤❤
Weird Al is brilliant. Graduated high school two years early.
You should really check out his song Perform This Way, you may guess, it is a parody of Lady Gaga’s Born This Way.
Please show the original video. It’s out there. Thanks.
If you want an obscure Al song, try ones that were never allowed on an album, like "You're Pitiful."
I thought i had heard all of a Weird Al, but this new to me. Great job guys. A good challenge for your scoring: Focus performing Hocus Pocus, a little daft 70's music.
Definitely needs the video to go along with the lyrics/vocals.

Thank you for the comment, we have already done "smells like" and "white and nerdy" we will be back with more soon.
All the best
Love weird Al, he is a genius, cool and funny as hell. :)
Weird Al s songs are a fantastic rabbit hole. Of course his parody's of Michael Jackson songs r his most famous.
And incredible that he was able to get a good portion of sets/props/costumes (or their designers/builders) AND crew for the videos... It almost verged a gap between parody and homage...
Weird Al is great, but I agree this one is pure brilliance. I mean Oozy rat in a sanitary zoo. Who thinks like that.
Word crimes is brilliant!
Word Crimes kind of reminded me of a Mad Magazine piece about first aid and CPR. The information was correct but they also threw in comments like "No one ever said saving lives wasn't yucky!"
You need to do Al's Star wars saga. It is spot on.
Spop Tirb, for your next Weird Al: Amish Paradise (Parody of "Gangsta's Paradise"). If you aren't familiar with the original "Gangsta's Paradise", make sure to watch it first so you will get all the humor. I think its his best!🤣

Good god how long did it take for him to come up with this?
Similar to reason behind Smells Like Nirvana. I also have trouble understanding Bob Dylan at times
Clever MINNESOTAN
Nice reaction, next please react "WHEN YOU TELL ME THAT YOU LOVE ME"(diana ross) cover by Vanny Vabiola
Missed on taco cat
Try listening to "Classifieds" by C. W. McAll
You wish somebody put the lyrics somewhere? Uh, they're in the VIDEO.
0:57 So you already know about the palindromes. I don't think your doing a first time reaction here 😮😅
Please watch top 25 places to visit in the USA
Hardware Store
Palindromes FTW!
How do I get a cup?

NOFX's "Bob" is better.
The only major one I can think of that he missed was "A man, a plan, a canal, Panama."
