I love the O.V.E. That looks very cool! Abby feel for the people hit with hurricane Helene. I always donate to hurricanes. I really feel for these people.
Fall is typically our time to start camping again since we stay home at our lake moat of the summer. It's great to camp fall, winter, and spring, typically with less crowds also. Thanks for talking about North Carolina and Tennessee. It is a mess in so many areas and many that aren't in the news. Our neighborhood, though we aren't there now, got power restored after about 5 days. The trees will take a year or two to deal with and plenty of money and volunteer efforts in our neighborhood. It's something we are accustomed to, but this is multiplied by 10 at least. My heart goes out to those that lost everything in the floods. Luckily, our lake is a holding lake to help prevent more flooding down the line. Our lake rose to summer levels to prevent more devastation downriver. People really need more education on the power of water and the destruction it can cause. See you soon!
I’m back! It feel good to be back! Been busy with Christmas and all that. But it’s all good now. Some of the gifts came late after ordering them on line but everyone said it’s ok. Just was one day late. Glad it all worked out. Hope you and your family had and Merry Christmas. I will see you soon! Going to watch the podcast.
I love fall camping. I love when you camp in the fall looking at the fall colors of heaves on the trees. I agree with you that in the fall the kids can go door knocking trick or treating. I also agree it’s better to do a campfire in the fall to warm up by the fire and cook s’mores and roasts hot dogs. We’ve done bonfires at our relatives houses and my sister in the back yard and it’s fun. We’ve done bonfires we roasted hot dogs and snores.
Damn, here in Idaho, we are still hitting the uper 70s. I love fall, winter, and spring camping. Took the grandkids this summer, and it was 110 in the mountians. I wish places didn't close so early.
I’m still renovating my used class c so I’ll miss most of fall camping. But I’ll plan to enjoy the leave foliage next year. On the RV industry, it’s all how a mostly unregulated industry can do to make the most money period. So min quality to get max profits…..it didn’t deter me but it made me hyper aware that I needed to get an RV inspection and learn how to fix as much as I can myself.
I love camping in the fall. It's perfect sleeping weather and no bugs!!!The colors are nice too. I'm in Connecticut. A quick trip to MA or NH is wonderful this time of year.
I remember camping at Starved Rock State Park and Apple River Canyon “ Illinois” in the early fall growing up. Those were some of the most memorable camping trips as a kid.
Sounds like familiar politics happening in the RV industry with bogus reporting. Thanks for reminding folks to donate to the Red Cross. Love fall camping too!
Good rule of thumb - if every video put out is overly dramatic, doom and gloom, fear mongering, and lacking any real sources or evidence chances are that RV content creator is full of 💩. -A
Also worth considering when cold camping: lithium batteries, especially Lithium Iron Phosphate (LiFePo4) can be ruined by charging below freezing. Check if your batteries or solar charge controller has low-temp protection built in. If they don't, disconnect the charger until your batteries have warmed above freezing.
Fall camping for me is great here in far south Mississippi, winter is also great however there are more snowbirds to deal with, But they do not bother me except for fewer open campsites..LOL. Here I just camp year round, campgrounds in the south stay open year round. And best thing is no need to winterize. I used to live in Southern Illinois right off I-64 could not really winter camp up there.
A few years ago, I had a CD from NPR that I would fall asleep to that had different stories on it (it's got lost since then 😔). One was about Red Rocks and renting some kind of jeep you could drive around and thy came across a camping area owned by a Native American tribe. Since then, I've definitely wanted to do that (go camping there, not the dune buggy-jeep thing). Assuming it's still there. But camping in the fall seemed like a good idea anyway. I love the idea of being able to snuggle up in a sweater/blanket and drinking hot chocolate (or something similar 😉) around a fire and fewer bugs?! Sign me up! I hate bugs! I do want to see fall foliage too (although I guess that would be a different trip (and I also don't like the term 'leaf peeping') PS: I was trying to explain to someone from another country that was commenting negatively about one of the houses that was floating down a river, that some of these houses were built over a hundred years ago and Asheville (and the surrounding area) was about 400 miles away from the coast. I'm sure the builders never thought about needing to build with massive flooding in mind. The damage there definitely looks overwhelming!
I have to question if you have really seen any small bunkhouse campers. I got a gulf stream 21ft 3800 lb max it has a queen bed in a BH. That sounds exactly like what you describe as wanting. Yes it's a traditional bunk house but it has everything you are asking for.
FYI - Abby said hurricane Kirk formed in the same area as Helene, this is not true. Kirk is in the Mid-Atlantic and won't impact the U.S. Helene formed in the Caribbean (there's a chance of something forming there but it's still pretty disorganized and doesn't look like much EDIT: Now it looks like it'll become a Category 3 before hitting West Florida).

Thank you Jason I love your ideas to keep your Rv warm inside.

Camping in the fall is so nice. I love being able to have the windows open
It’s really the best.

I hope you had a great New Year’s Day!
Happy New Year to you, too!
Thanks for the video. I just returned from Lassen National Park and nearby Hat Creek and there was hardly anyone there.
Sounds like an awesome trip!

We love fall and winter camping. The is having a well built and insulated rig.
Good information
Thanks!

You are definitely entering your camping sweet season. Davis Bayou in Ocean Springs is one of our fav campgrounds! .-A

We’re going to Shenandoah the last weekend in October.
Oh, it’s going to be so beautiful there!

Can you fit 3 adult size people in the bunkhouse beds?

Thanks for the update. My apologies for misrepresenting what I’d heard via the news. -A
Did you know that starlink works while moving? And is part of most plan’s nowadays

Understood, I didn’t catch the name of the cookbook you were talking about. Please let me know, Thanks
