Excellent! I've been using the fg knot tying machine at home and it works very well but this knot will be employed now when I'm out fishing on my boat! Thanks for sharing!!!
I enjoyed your video but I will have to try this knot out before I judge. I night fish a lot and I think doing those quick over hand loops will be easier when it is dark and windy. 👍
Apa2 pun. Saya dah set calendar untuk tahun depan dah. Siap degan reminder sebulan awal. Pasti pi sana malam raya. Camping kat sana pun tak apa. 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Little tip for anyone watching this.... Wrap the lines around a piece of dowel to fully tighten especially the braid. Youll not pull it up anywhere near as well with just just fingers. Is ok to make a video, but not to actually use. Try pulling braid tight enough to use, and it'll cut right into fingers, especially if you wrap braid around a finger to pull it tight
Once you get used to tying FG knots you can do it very quickly (as quickly as this). The finish is very similar, with numerous variations. The problem I see with this, as opposed to the FG is that the FG is successful because all of the twists have the ability to bite into the main line, creating the strength. Try tying an FG knot with too many turns (say 20) and the last twists will not bite in properly. This can lead to the final turns loosening, allowing the previous turns to also loosen. The same issue arises with this knot. I'd be interested to see some reports on longevity and failures under consistent load. For me, I'll stick with the FG...
i tie both fig tightens at the back then losens at the front of the knot while this one is opposite. so in terms of having final knot hold to be secured its not needed but just there
I had my 1st attempt fail. The mono leader pulled right out of the braid while casting a plastic frog. At 1st I though it broke my leader off because it wore from the knot clicking through my guides, but after I got my frog back I could see that the leader just pulled through the knot. 1st and only time in my life that that has happened with any braid to mono knot. It took me 30 casts with a crank bait to snag my frog. Incidentally, it was no less loud going through the guides than the uni-uni I normally use.
Dude,… the FG is far superior…!!! If you can do a figure 8…. then you can tie an FG .. then finish it with a carrot knot …. Slicker than Buffalo snot …! 👍😎🤙
Great knot but won't cast through guides properly and is about 50%. And fg and allbright are 70% and the pr knot, which this is a poor man's version of is 100% knot. I doubt you are targeting large saltwater fish. Casting lures with braid joined to fluorocarbon leader
Hi, 1st of all tq for sharing I have tried this knot with my setup Daiwa Tatula 10-20lb , Steez , and my lure 20g , main line 30lb - leader 35lb. On 3rd cast, the lure flys on its own, the knot become loose and released. In my opinion, this knot maybe can be used for jigging. 50-50 for casting maybe light setup is suitable.
Don't overdo the loops. I personally think there were too many wraps in this demo. 12 to 15 is plenty and it allows you to snug down all the coils and properly tighten the knot all the way. If their are any loose coils it will eventually spread to all of them and allow the knot to fail.
Very interesting, I do wonder how thoroughly it has been tested.. fg knot is tried and true and I don’t have any problem tying it but this is interesting 🤔
This is half way towards a pr knot. Which is stronger than any knot. But with a bobbin you go 30 loops down, 60 loops back. 8 alternating 1/2 hitches, then finish with a risutto. That pr knot is 100 % knot. It takes longer to tie than an fg knot but its much stronger (100%)
PR needs to be wrapped tight just like the FG. Hence why we use a bobbin to wrap the trace while doing the PR and general PR should be long, atleast 30 wraps. The double Albright knot he's demonstrated is not just slack but also over exaggerated and too long.
I can tie the FG fairly quick and I believe it’s smaller and it’s definitely strong I grouper fish with a gig never had it slip. I do tie mine at home. When I’m in the boat are wade fishing I tie the double unnie knot for speed it’s a little bigger but strong
Hello friend, truly congratulations, beautiful knot!🥰👏🏻👏🏻 Could you kindly tell me, for which PE diameters and techniques is it most suitable please? Could it be suitable for seabass and above? Thank you very much for the explanation. Best regards.
I don’t know:: but I’ve been tying the super simple double uni knot for years (hundreds of fish of many different species) and have never had a knot failure.
This is my new favorite knot to use for braid to flouro leaders. I am not very quick at making it yet but getting better slowly. What is the name of this knot?
This knot is very good and strong while you use rather thick braid lines. But unfortunateky it is useless for thin braids used for ultralight like #0.3 - 0.4 PE and fluorcarbon line 0.18-0.22 mm. Such thin braids being damaged hard by this knot itself.
What is the reason for the half hitches in the middle ? Why not just do the last part of the knot and put like 8 or 10 wraps into that to lock it back into itself ? Or am I missing something ?
This is the knot I use for fishing 40 inch lake trout thru the ice. Strong knot!!
This knot is spectacular for tying 50lb braid to 100 lb fluorocarbon. Made my Tarpon rig so much better! Thanks!
Great to hear!😍
...been using the FG for a few years & become fairly good at it, but think I'll give this a try. Thanks.
Investigator: So why did you do it!?
Me: he just kept twisting and twisting the damn braid. I couldn't take it anymore!

@@alienxyt as you already know the Uni knot works great. I been using it for over 35+ years. It's fast and easy to tie.
The principal is the same as an fg. Creating lots of surface area rather than a conventional knot which bites down tightly and cuts into itself.
Wow! Didn't even know this was possible. Will definitely try it out. Cannot do FG Knot b/c of difficulty and user error.
Please try and let me know if you did it 😊😊

I'll be trying it out this weekend on some kingfish. Usually use the double uni but this one looks like it will cast through the eyes better. Thanks!

Exactly! That's why I'm here. 😅
There is a little machine called Stonfo that does that job and it works excellent.
Thanks

I like that this knot has no tag end facing the rod tip, should make for a smooth cast...

Do you think you could finish with a rizuto instead and make it quicker and finer?
Yes I also use rizuto occasionally, its your own preference how you will lock the knot at the end buddy🙏😊

ill stick to the double uni knot. way easier for me to tie.
I'm waiting for wu tang to start rapping on that beat.
Je suis satisfait de le pouce
What would be nice if you would do a break test when you tie all these knots after. More content and help your viewers.
I agree with that PI
FG knot secured with uni knot is way, wayyyy easier and strong enough 😅 My head hurt from looking at this 😆
you're either delusional or trolling. This method is much easier even though the process is identical. How is that pinky? 😂
@@jaimeruiz4313 I'm not delusional, I find the fg knot easier. Watch your mouth, mate.
Honestly bro, if I break off and the fish are biting, do you really think I’ll be tying this knot lol, double uni all day bro, less than 15 seconds 💪
Looks very easy but carrot knot is faster;) unless your leader is not thinner than 0.18mm.
Чем больше накручу - тем больше наловлю...🤪
Пять минут вязать две лески между собой можно только когда рыба не клюет совсем
I counted like 32 wraps ! Then you would need another boat so you could tighten it up correctly! 2 boats would pull it together easily?
Cukup sinpel dan mudah di pelajari

This is my new favorite knot to use for braid to flouro leaders. I am not very quick at making it yet but getting better slowly. What is the name of this knot?
Its called SC knot Fernando 😊😊
So the braid wraps around the mono and wraps around the mono and then the mono pulls right out from all those wraps.
Excelente, gratidão
Thank you Ricardo

yes its simpler but not stronger of course, and burning the leader means hits to the rings again. is it necessary?
burning the line is optional only. have you tried the knot?
Definitely a sturdy knot. But way too extensive imo.
I tie fg and loop knot exclusively. 🤙
I agree buddy
Good info
Glad it was helpful thanks a lot
There is no way in hell that this is better than FG.
It is thicker and longer for starters..
I respect that there are a lot of professional fishermen out there, but this knot, along with a lot of knots seem like overkill.
Nút thắt này đi câu JIG có ok không?
Must be super strong
Yes I bet its super strong please try the knot 😊😊
I tried it and i experience fg is still smoother😅
What is the reason for the half hitches in the middle ?
Why not just do the last part of the knot and put like 8 or 10 wraps into that to lock it back into itself ?
Or am I missing something ?
The half hitches on the last part
Hopefully season still open when that's done😢
