What a grand old lady! It was definitely a beautiful entertainment home of its day. Large rooms allowing for many guests. I can just imagine all the activity and fun!
I hope someone with some sense and a sense of history will remove things from the house that are valuable and can be re-purposed. As it is, the waste of good things here is tragic.
Some of the most beautiful fireplaces I've ever seen in here, even the slate roof is a beauty. At least the family had a big sale and didn't just leave everything to rot.
I like how they had an electric candle in each window, even in the attic. It must have looked beautiful with them all lit up at night back in the day. Such a gorgeous house!
I've been to a few estate sales, it's really kind of sad when you're going thru someones things, who are no longer alive. Usually once an estate sale is over anything not sold is either donated, or sold off for pennies on the dollar. I wonder why there is so much stuff left in this house. I can only imagine how glorious this house must have been in its day. Awesome..
What a beautiful old home! It would take some engineering, lots of money and tons of effort, but it's not yet beyond saving. It just needs the right buyer.
This one just brought tears. I noticed the candles still in the windows. Must have been beautiful at Christmas time. All the beautiful things still left inside. Just sickening. It needs to be saved not torn down. 😢
Hi Kappy, from Scotland. Been watchin for ages but 1st time commenter. The Sumter house is so beautiful. It beggars belief that these absolutely gorgeous old houses are so abandoned. I've often imagined the many many good (and bad) memories there must have been. I wanna house with pocket doors!😂. Hope everybody has a merry xmas and a happy new year. Best wishes
What a fabulous old house, it's massive, love the shutters and fireplaces and the staircase is lovely. I can see how gorgeous this must have been at one time. Hope someone can save those amazing gothic windows in the attic, well worth saving.❤
First thing that got me was how far back the beautiful staircase was from the door entrance... I really liked that.. cause usually it's so close to the front door entrance.. I loved the shutters inside over the windows.. elegant feature having them.. and the fireplaces were gorgeous... thanks for sharing 😊
What a great place, giant rooms, lots of natural light through the windows and, no fool ever painted the fireplace mantles. Even the out building has a fireplace! I love this one Kappy, Thank You. Merry Christmas you and your family, young man.
I'm so glad you captured this one for posterity Kappy. What a wonderful, huge home it was. Truly a mansion. I think its size may have spelled its doom, the upkeep and renovation costs would have been huge. Love all the candle lights in the windows. Thank you for braving the attic stairs, even the attic was grand. You are the gold standard of exploring videos, I've enjoyed watching you for years now. Thanks for all you do.
Thank you Kappy for sharing another beautiful home with us.This house is so grand with Marble fireplaces to the doors and trim and the beautiful stained glass.I wish someone could save them.I hope you have a wonderful Christmas.🎄🧡💚💜
I hope that this house is salvaged before demolition. People who run farmers markets usually have flea markets too. Those people would love to get their hands on some of the stuff in that house. The living room set is beautiful. The staircase is beautiful and I love that it hasn't been painted. This house was a stunner in it's day.
The fireplaces are so gorgeous and unique and every room is so spacious. They mustve been quite wealthy. I love the shutters and I love all the furniture from the 1940s/50s.
WOW! I bet that place was gorgeous in it’s time. Those rooms are absolutely HUGE, I love it. Thanks Kappy. I wish I could close my eyes for a moment, and see that wonderful house in it’s heyday!
These mantles are some of the most beautiful you've shown us, the etching is really unique. There are some areas in this house that look untouched by the ravages of age, but i do wish whomever was in charge of the estate sale would have cleared out the stuff that didn't sell. Just love the interior shutters on the windows! And oddly enough, i once owned the shower curtain with the yellow rosettes!
So beautiful! It’s so sad that it’s set up for demo. You always bring up the absolute best Kappy. I’ve never seen such talk ceilings! It must have been originally owned by a very wealthy family. Wishing you a very safe and a Merry Christmas Kappy! You’re the best. 😊
What a big beautiful house with so much stuff left inside. Its a shame that its going to be demolished😥 As always, thanks for the explore Kappy. Happy Holidays to all 🎄🎁🥂
What an amazing place! Large rooms, amazing windows and transoms over the outside doors. Man, to live in this place back in the day. Plenty of space for kids to play, or the adult guests to gather. Glad you got to this place before it was demolished or nature has taken back. Really awesome! You knocked another one out of the park Mr Kappy! Thanks so much for taking me along! Hope your Christmas is a good one young man! 😊
Those “0ld pictures “ are called Slides and they go in a slide projector which makes them large on a white screen, I’ll bet there is a ton of historical type photos hidden in those slides! Wow
What a grand old house......oh if those walls could talk. I can only imagine what it must have been like to live in such a beautiful mansion 100 years ago. And those stained glass windows/doors up in the attic.......gorgeous. So sad to see it just left to rot and now heading towards demolition. It's very cool.....thanks Kappy.
Always an old piano or two left behind. (I'm a professional pianist). How my heart aches for all these beautiful treasures left behind -- soon to be destroyed. Savor the things of beauty each day while you can. They are gone with the blink of an eye.
WOW!!! I can't even imagine having all that space and light! I'll bet those stained glass windows have some sort of historical significance in the community. I hope they save them as well as those gorgeous fireplace mantles! Just amazing. Thanks Kappy!
Thanks Urbex!!!! I'm sure this place was SOMETHING ELSE "BACK IN THE DAY"!!!! Everytime you show the exterior of one of these homes, it's just INCREDIBLE!!!! The surroundings are ALWAYS BEAUTIFUL!!!!
Based on the description I was waiting for the part where the audio dropped out but it never did, perfectly fine throughout the whole video. You could remove the disclaimer if you want to. What a house! So many fine mantles of such high quality and none have been removed. On top of those, the doors, trim and of course those incredible stained glass windows should be salvaged before demolition. What an astounding find Kappy! Thank you for another tour of America's forgotten past.
Interesting house- those mantles were all Eastlake in design. The stained glass windows in the attic were wonderful - I wonder if they were salvaged from a local church. I think the object at 21:17 was a cage for a pet hamster. Nice tour, Kappy! Thank you
Such a beautiful, well built home. It served the family well. I wish someone would’ve rescued it and brought it back to life. 😢 Thank you Kappy. I hope I dream about those stained glass windows tonight! Stunning! Merry Christmas!
Hi Kappy! Happy Saturday to you! What an amazing farmhouse you brought us today! As you said, absolutely incredible!! A fireplace in every room, the beautiful woodwork and the attention to all the detail, the slate roof, this was a pretty well off family and they loved this house. Thank you for sharing this with us. Happy holidays to you! Have a super Christmas!!! Thank you for your beautiful videos every week. I so look forward to them. Happy 2025 to all of us!!!✌️❤️
I love this home! I kept imagining how I would decorate it and where I would put the Christmas decorations. It's heartbreaking to know it will be demolished. Thank you for recording what's left of this beautiful home. Happy holidays to you and all the best in 2025.
Wow, how beautiful! I've never seen such stunning marble mantels. Loving that kitchen sink and those shutters. Just wow. Love your work Kappy. Thank you. Hello from Tennessee girl.
Taxes are so high on many of these old properties, people and organizations can't take them on to use as institutions. It's sad since they indeed could house many, before decay.
What an amazing house! The stair case and fireplace mantels are beautiful. I love all the natural sun light in the house especially upstairs. Thanks Kappy!
Another beauty, Kappy! Love the mantles, pocket doors and all the plug in candles in every window! Kinda dangerous to have them in the attic, but she is still standing! Wish someone with wealth would save her 😢❤ Thanks for taking us with U!😊
I just love all your videos and the continuity in them. When I watch one of your videos I always know what I'm getting: Top quality presentation of beautiful old buildings and their architecture and style. I truly appreciate that you have kept your method of documenting these places consistent over the years. No irritating music- and effects overlays. No fancy graphical intros. No excessive editing. Just you with your camera, commenting and paying respect to buildings that may not be around for much longer. Keep up the good work man, and Merry Christmas!
Hi Kappy! Thank you for sharing this beautiful old house with us. I really enjoyed seeing it. My favorite parts are the fireplaces, transoms, and stained glass windows. What a find! The pictures/negatives you found aren’t that old-‘old’ being relative, of course😅. They are slides. We used to have slide projectors which you could load up with slides, then project them onto a blank screen. People would show pictures they took on vacation, etc. in that way. I have pictures my late brother took on slides from the 60s through the 80s. Thank you again for all you do. May you have the happiest of holidays!
That is some kind of house! What a shame that someone had to leave it and leave all those nice things behind. I love those marble fireplaces, too! The attic was fantastic. I was worried you would go across that sketchy area and find nothing. The stained glass windows alone were worth the climb. Happy travels!🔆
Love this one, especially the upper floor and attic. You could make great use of that huge attic space. Very cool find! I just wish homes like these could be saved & restored.
What a great Victorian! I hope someone saves the architectural salvage, mantels, and stained glass. As usual, wondering what woodwork lies under the paint, and what all the little rooms were originally for. Thanks, Kappy-and Happy Holidays! 🎄🏠 🎄
Such a beautiful old home. It is always very sad to know that something as pretty as this home is is going to be demolished. So much personal stuff left. Thank you, Kappy. Have wonderful holidays.
Who ever put those marble fireplaces up stair must have been a beast of a person. Also the pig on the kitchen door was so coolLoved the shutters in side. Think that would be better than curtains. Unique windows Always wanted a claw foot tub. Very beautiful even in the deteriorating stage. As always be careful and thank you
Breaks my heart that so many of these beautiful homes you show us are left to rot. PS.... you make me smile when you look at beautiful door knobs..... and you cringe when you walk through a spiderweb 😊
Oh and I just have to add those stain glass windows are beyond beautiful. Seems like they should be in a chapel somewhere. Would be a crime to loose them. Tennessee girl
This was such a lovely home. It's sad that it was so cruelly abandoned by those who should have cared. I'm glad you were able to document this one, and I hope you got a close-up shot of the wedding picture that was propped on the upstairs mantel. I hate that the picture was left behind.

Those stained glass window panels are totally awesome. Can't believe they will be destroyed with the demolition. A classy old place
I hope someone with some sense and a sense of history will remove things from the house that are valuable and can be re-purposed. As it is, the waste of good things here is tragic.
I imagine they will have a salvage company come in prior to the demo, or they will lose a boatload of money
Thank you Kappy for all your hard work this year that sometimes looked treacherous. ❤ all the houses. Merry Christmas to you and your family ❤
