This is the first time I've seen a home on your channel that looks to have interesting clear-out potential. I saw a few things during the walk through that lead me to believe there may be some treasures there.
Love that house! There is definite water penetration in the basement due to the slope of the land behind. That 'mold' on the first floor is probably due to the bathroom. It didn't sound like there was an exhaust fan installed. Who ever buys that house had better not touch those floors upstairs other than to refinish. And personally, I would do a 'gut' on the kitchen and redesign the layout.
Nice older place; looks to be something of a Greek Revival Colonial. The chimneys appear to have been rebuilt at some point; brickwork in attic looks newer. They seem a little spindly to handle multiple fireplace flues; maybe they were downsized at some point...
That one side of kitchen was a little spot for coffee and breakfast. If you dont want a huge kitchen... not a bad spot to drink coffee and look out the window.
Our farmhouse is 300 years old. We took it all the way down to the how the house was back then . So much damage from all the years . Plus ,a fire in one of the fireplace damaged the wood and they ,left it. Were putting it back as it was but, will have bathrooms, water. Ours the wirings, was all bad and a few walls just fall. We were wondering, how the hold up .
Definitely needs some TLC, especially a project for someone who loves historical architecture and country living. I hope the future owner can at least get it restored through the local historical committee. Would definitely be a shame if some greedy real estate developer decided to subdivide the lot.
A bit of sanding then some oxalic acid goes a long way. Also staining before finishing will help if those floors will be kept. Or replace them completely, their not original to the house.
It would not be "updated" it would be restored with period appropriate looking everything inside and out, no laminated plastic fake wood flooring, glass walled shower, modern formica counters etc. The old single pane multi light windows would be replaced with dual pane windows but having the same divided lights.
Agree about the windows. Had a huge fight with my husband when we replaced the windows in our house because it was more money to get the 'divided' lights for the upper sashes (which was true to our house).
Why spend any money on the house? A little paining inside and outside all the house needs. It's not a good idea to sopend tons of money on a house just to spend.

Another wonderful historic home. The wide plank floors are beautiful!
Beautiful bones. Needs love, but the potential is definitely there. You can probably eliminate the back star completely.
That stone wall is fantastic
It is
You don't LIVE in a stone wall. That house is a nockdown so whats the price on four acres on a hillside in this area ?
I really like this property and the house floorplan. Has great possibilities!

What a beautiful home 🏡❤. I hope someone buys it and fixes it up!!
Those breakers are not new, that is a Federal Pacific breaker panel and it's a fire hazard needs to be replaced ASAP
Wonder what happened to the downstairs cooking fireplace?

Classic Greek Revival! Here's hoping that someone loves it and brings in back to its original grandeur!
Omg. I LOVE that place! Lists for $400 k- taxes almost $8k! Yikes
Where is it?
@@bettysmith4527 Pelham MA. Central Mass but closer to Amherst than Worcester.

Wonderful house
I would just make sure the electrical, plumbing and roof are all in good condition.
I would love to have this house. I am surprised they did not insulate the attic. They should have put it down under the metal roof.
Your attic space usually vents through the roof!
@@bettysmith4527 I thought they put vents in for that.
Which state and county is this in?
Pelham, Massachusetts. likely western mass.
Cool 😎
I'm pretty sure from past experience that the pet stains won't come out.

Needs too much work

Guy talks to much. That kitchen is an addition. Whole thing should be ripped off the original footprint.
