As much as I loved Brad Pitt in this kind of a role, Lemon and Tangerine absolutely steal the show. Just in general, this felt like the kind of "popcorn movie" we just don't get as much anymore, at least in the sense that it's not a reboot, trying to set up a cinematic universe, etc. It's a fun, one-and-done action blockbuster that's just interesting enough to keep you engaged the whole way through.

Exactly! It hit the comedy beats really well and wasn't trying to shove a political/social message down our throats so much. Just had characters that were badass and also funny here n there.

For anyone looking for other fun stuff like this one, check out Guy Ritchie, he makes hilariuos gangster movies. Not so many flashy action scenes like this one, but the writing style where everything is connected is the same, style of shooting with weird angles is there too. Tbh Bullet Train seems to pick a lot from Guy's book

@@steveplowright5014 Hmm, a tangerine truck almost hits Ladybug, after which he get’s on a bullet train, travels overnight, and at the destination we see the SAME Tangerine truck? I’m not saying you’re wrong, but if it is supposed to be the same exact truck it’s a pretty silly plot hole. I guess the truck was cast in 2 roles in the same film.

So Ryan Reynolds' cameo here was in exchange for Brad Pitt's cameo in Deadpool 2. But yeah Lemon and Tangerine were excellent and would definitely watch a spin-off with them, there's irony that they were talking about bulletproof vests and while Tangerine noted about being shot in the chest, which Lemon survives because of the vest, he dies being shot in the neck like Lemon noted.
Also the trolley lady the Hornet knocks out is Kumiko from The Boys, a lowkey very stacked cast.

20:35 - “the ol‘ Punch and Judy”
Punch and Judy were an old puppet duo (and by “old” I mean 17th century). They were a strangely enduring form of entertainment in Europe pretty much up until television became the dominant form of entertainment. They never completely went away, though, which is why they still get referenced from time to time. Here it’s just used as a way to describe puppeteering.

as you said, "to each their own", but why bother to say it? you know what music you like, what paintings you like, what films you like, and you are absolutely correct (for you) about every opinion! if someone else hates what you love, or loves what you hate, they too are absolutely correct (for their eyes and ears) about every opinion! you get that, right?
art is expression and it's goal is to evoke an emotion, and it's different for every person and it doesn't have to be positive, but do you actually seek out bands that you do not enjoy or art shows that do not interest you so that you can make negative comments? why are you in the comment section of a reaction video for a film that you do not particularly care for? it's great that so many people like it, and it's great that you don't, but it's kind of weird that you felt the need to overtly disagree with the valid opinions of others and then dismissively and apathetically exclaim, "to each their own", as if you don't understand the hype but, after some reflection, you have decided to allow it. it's weird.

@@gavinderulo12 Honestly, it’s not so surprising. Foreign television doesn’t really get much traction in the States, whether it’s in English or not. American production companies will even do American remakes of shows that are already in English, because the American audiences only want to see American content.
The Office is a bad example of this issue, because Steve Carrell actually nailed the comedy, but there are plenty of examples where it’s just insane. Broadchurch, for example, should never have been remade into Gracepoint, even if they did recast David Tennant in the lead role (though why Olivia Coleman wasn’t brought in too baffles me). Wilfred (staring Jim Jeffries) was better here in Australia. The American I.T. Crowd couldn’t get past it’s U.S. pilot episode despite Richard Ayoade’s best efforts.
The point is Americans aren’t exposed to much outside their own borders on TV, so unless they are world travellers (approx 8% I believe), they don’t really have a chance to hear these terms.

This was a great reaction to watch, it's such fun movie and sublimely cast, David Leitch is producing some good stuff, I hope you have an eye on his other movies you've not seen for future reactions.
Love to see reactions to the 'Extraction' series too. Thank you. 😊

My favorite moment of the whole movie: 42:39 Not sure if you know but, around this time, Sandra Bullock and Channing Tatum were in a movie called The Lost City (it's a lot of fun) - Brad Pitt has a small role. It feels like they were all making movies at the same time and said, "Hey, if you be in mine, I'll be in yours!" lol

Another train movie is The Taking of Pelham 1-2-3. There are two versions: one from the 70s (with Walter Matthau and Robert Shaw) and one from 2009 (with Denzel Washington/John Travolta). I've only seen the first one and it was very good.

Train movies naturally lend themselves to extra excitement! Submarine movies are good too.
    Some train recos include:
    The Lady Vanishes
    Strangers on a Train
    North by Northwest
The Narrow Margin (50s original and 90s remake)
    Runaway Train
Murder on the Orient Express (orig is great; remake is ok)
    By slight inference:
3:10 to Yuma (orig and remake)
    High Noon

I saw this one in Dolby Cinema at AMC.
One of 2022's best, both for that summer and the year.
    Impressive cast, so many storylines.
Shades of Guy Ritchie and Quentin Tarantino's films.
    All over the place.
    Twists, turns and cyclones.
I was so easily caught in this from the first trailer.
"Maria Beetle" is the novel that the film is based on and the title character played by
Sandra Bullock sounded and looked so good.
Btw, Bullock with Channing Tatum and Brad Pitt were in another film of
the same summer, "The Lost City" (kinda fun).
Director Leitch, credited as victim 17, did such a great job.
You oughta catch the cold war thriller that was his 2nd film
called Atomic Blonde (2017) with Charlize Theron.

What’s hilarious about the Channing Tatum cameo is this movie came out just a couple months prior to the movie. I forget what it was called. I think the lost city or something like that anyway it’s a Channing Tatum Sandra Bullock movie and Brad Pitt makes a cameo in that movie.

I've considered a trip to Japan. Next year I'm going to Vietnam. The best vacation for a dollar I've seen. 5-Star Hotels for $50 a night. You can even get beach view in Da Nang. White sand, they clean it every night so it's spotless the next morning and a small crew that keeps a watch during the day.

Brad Pitt did 95% of his own stunts in this film according to stunt coordinator Greg Rementer. With the main exceptions being hard falls and the running scenes. He also wanted his character to grow an increasing number of bruises, cuts, and more culminating in at least three golf ball-sized lumps, but they talked him out of it.

  • @stevensauer8539

I love this movie. It's just so much fun, has such a witty script, and has such great performances. Brad Pitt is lots of fun, but the twins are amazing. It's hard to believe that Tangerine is the same guy who played Kick-Ass.
The movie doesn't have as good as a rating as it deserves. Most of the negative reviews I've seen complain about either the action being over the top (this is a negative?), and that the plot was too convoluted and confusing. Rubbish! The plot is extremely straightforward. You just don't find out all the details you need until the final act. If you can't handle a movie like that, maybe the Teletubbies would be more up your alley. For the rest of us, Bullet Train was just ludicrously fun.
You commented about the similarities between Bullet Train and Deadpool 2. But there's one more. The same guy directed both movies. He also directed Atomic Blonde, which if you haven't seen is a good but much darker movie.
