So was I, but then I took the spot of a friend in the Megavalanche. Suddenly I realiesd how much fun it is to look for the fastest lines and how much skill is required to to make them work, without loosing control. That explains the 29er and to be honest, if you are a good rider the jump from 27.5 to 29 (especially on a bike with short chainstays) will only take a couple of rides and pressing a little bit harder in the turns ;) Since I rode it quite a bit now, I can say I did the exact same stuff on this bike only the 360 is missing but that´s due the clips(because I just started riding them on this bike)
Danke, ich geb mein Bestes bald wieder so ein Bike Build Video machen zu können. Ich kann mir nur nicht leisten alle 2-3 Monate ein neues Bike zu kaufen. Aber ich bin dran ;)
Alex (the Mechanic and Bike-Shop owner building the bike) used a lot of different tools during this build. I know from talking to a lot of mechanics that it is worth it to invest into proper tools. A lot of mechanics like the tee allens from Parktool or Proxxon, I personally like proxxon tools. And I´d prefer them because I like to pay for quality but hate to pay too much for the brand name, like with Parktool. Parktool makes awesome tools and if I was a mechanic working with them on a daily basis I might even choose them. But I´d look for tools from Proxxon, Birzmann, Wera or if you have a tighter budget maybe look into tools from PRO (a brand from Shimano), everything cheaper can also get the job done. But it`s no pleasure to work with and due to bad tolerances you might even damage stuff, if you aren´t very careful. Hope that was a little help, enjoy working on your bike :D
You´re right this is not the lightest bike, but to me it´s more important that I can relie on the components and don´t have to break the bank ;) I use it for mostly on my local trails without a chairlift or shuttle and it´s ok uphill and a beast downhill :D
Find ich auch, bleibst du vorerst beim Dirt oder wirst du demnächst auch mal auf ein Mountainbike steigen (Nein, kein kostenloses altes Schrott Rad;) )
This is the old bike stand Alex has in his Shop, I´ll ask him if he can tell me any specifics. My guess is: it´s a custom build ;) He actually uses a new electric one from Park Tool most of the time. This one is his backup, but I thought has more flair and style to use the old one ;)
