31 views, I kinda waited for this moment. I can admit that om NOT into mountainbiking and I have zero experience in it but you make such good content that I watched your videos all the time in the latest week. Good job Seth, you deserve all your views and subs.
I started to watch his videos when I was researching to fix my bike and even if I don't ride it as hard nor as often as he does, I love all of his videos.
Hey man! You should join the squad. Mountain Biking is an awesome sport and a great way to get exercise. Also, the people in mountain biking super friendly (except the “idiot”in this video) and nice. There are many trails everywhere you go and you don’t even have to ride at a trail, you can just ride at the streets or somewhere else. Therefore, Mountain biking is a an amazing sport everyone could do.
Yeah...but Seth is an inconsiderate arrogant showboater. Too selfish and too concerned on video clicks to give a flying fukc about anyone. I fix bikes. I have given bikes to those who needed one. A Ride Bikes. I would not throw a bike around while I make biking videos. To me Seth is a DISHONOURABLE Hypocrite. He does not deserve to ride.
Even with a low payout, I'm happy to see the bike get melted down for use again. I volunteer at a bike charity and we get a lot of bikes like that in, stuff that's not rideable and people get warm fuzzies by donating it to homeless people rather than throw the bike away. Unfortunately, a Walmart bike that's been left outside isn't really salvageable and it just clutters our warehouse. Weathered (zing) walmart bikes aren't really ride-able, and become an eyesore quickly. I think a lot of areas could really benefit from a rusted bike cleanup effort.
@@iunnox666 A guy on my cross country team tore his ACL. During rehab he racked up 2,800 miles on a Genesis Wal Mart full suspension bike. I offered to let him use a spare police model Fuji I had setup for light trail riding but he declined. The fork seized up first, then the rear shock, then things got weird. The bike just started getting loose. Like I'd tighten things but the low quality hardware would just shred when I went to tighten things the third or fourth time. Tires were scavenged from long abandon bikes on campus. It was impressive.

Hey Seth, thanks for picking the bike from the forest. I don't understand why some people gave 👎 to this video. I think you did something good for the Environment and I know Mother Nature also appreciate it. Keep the good work! 🤘😎
I will suggest you next time you should throw away the old wheel and buy a new one and just give it to someone who need it for little price or gift to poor person. I'm sure you feel more happy to do so.
Selena Bose While I considered this, the cost of the new wheel, two new tires, new cables all around, and new brake pads would have been close to the brand new cost of this bike, and certainly more than the used value. To call it “safe”, this is what it would take. The original owner left the bike in the woods because it would have cost them more to drag it out, so my goal was to remove trash from the forest.
@@SethsBikeHacks Part of the problem is the need to make everything 'safe' and everybody obsessing over having their bikes to the same standard as professional racers. That bike was probably good enough to ride a mile or 2 across town to somebody, even better because you don't worry about it getting stolen
Seth knows its not so safe to ride that bike with those wheels. so i think this is why he didnt sell it as it is. For somebody with little bicycle knowledge it could be dangerous
Yeah, but that wheels are dirt cheap, buy used ones, or you maybe have spares. He already invested time, part and money in fixing it to rideable condition, why not finish it and give it to some neighbor kid who would love to ride it. No one normal would drive that on that dirt tracks, but some kid on suburban street would sure want to. I know this is made for fun but it didn't have to end this way 😀🚴
Except for the fact that he scrapped the bike instead of fixing it up for someone to use (you know, for someone to get healthy/exercise)... and also the gas he used driving to/from the scarper to get rid of the scrap metal, which will likely be put into an aluminium or steel smelter (which are not environmentally friendly to say the least). Google "smelter environmental pollutants". Here, I did it for you. "Some facilities that carry out metal and smelting processes are known to emit high quantities of air pollutants such as hydrogen fluoride, sulfur dioxide, oxides of nitrogen, offensive and noxious smoke fumes, vapors, gases, and other toxins." Yep, he really respects the environment.
@@CoroaEntertainment Lol imagine getting upset because someone drove to a scrapper and recycled a shitty bike. I bet he's done more for the environment by opening that bike park then you've ever done.
Hell, I taco'd my front wheel just like that bike halfway back from an 8 hour trail ride, and I still hiked that all steel frame monstrosity out with me. Some people just have no respect for nature.
It was (I think) some UA-camrs doing research of "walmarts bikes", and when they done the video they trow it down. Thanks for cleaning the nature and the park too ❤
That poor bike is almost the same as my first MTB, also a Mongoose. At least my little ol' Blackcomb had an RST fork, mechanical disc brakes and Shimano Alivio drivetrain. I rode the hell out of it when I was in middle school. Even though it always made me feel inferior when looking at the other rich guys with their bikes worth as much as my dad's car, I would've never abandoned my trusty Mongoose at the forest. And it gave me so much fun.

Likewise, it probably didn't take much to get out of shape. As Seth mention, the spokes were super loose.
@@travisstorms9951 Well its not a surprise considering the Chinese factories hired to manufacture that bike are paid to make them out of what I call rubberized plastic metal. hell that might even be stronger then what those rims are made of, sheesh most of its strength is derived from the tighten spokes LOL...
Nice!
Atta-boy for cleaning up the forest and recycling what you could.
My hat is off to you!
Hey brother at least you broke it down and separated steel from aluminum. A lot of people don't do that
I would love to see more of these videos where you go in the wilderness and repair a hopelessly broken bike good enough to ride it out.
31 views, I kinda waited for this moment. I can admit that om NOT into mountainbiking and I have zero experience in it but you make such good content that I watched your videos all the time in the latest week. Good job Seth, you deserve all your views and subs.
This is the most wholesome comment I have ever seen
Me either! But Seth puts so much useful information in his videos, I'm a better rider for watching them.
I started to watch his videos when I was researching to fix my bike and even if I don't ride it as hard nor as often as he does, I love all of his videos.
same here!
Do all Mountian Bikers wear their helmets in their trucks? 7:05
It’s only cause he was shooting the scene of throwing the bike out of the truck

I'll be so honest. I'm a roadie and typically don't keep up with any mountain bike channels but yours I'm hooked on.
Where I live there’s a non profit bike shop that takes donated bikes in all conditions, fixes them and then gives them to the less fortunate.
Bikes like that aren't ridable off road, but they'll probably do fine for putting around at 10km/h like most people do.
A cushy pub bike.
Thanks for fighting the good fight man!
The right way to scrap is by the truck load. And don't bother with the break down. The grinder will do that.

Well that bike is dangerous they should not be allowed to sell “mountain bikes” like that
@@remotecontrolcentral4928 that bike would of been fine for riding to and from the store

A co-op would be able to make it safe with a set of used wheels and cables from another bike with a broken frame.
@Brisdad53 Seth rode it down a mountain, I'm sure with tuning up it would be fine for mild use on the streets.

Good on you for completing the "circle of bike", Seth! Nice to see you helping out Mother Nature.

I had really bad slam and broke my collar bone last week. My bike was smashed up with my front wheel totally taco'ed to the max. I hid my bike in the bushes, so I could go back and collect it at a later date, while I walked home in agony holding my arm. I had an operation the other day to pin my clavicle together and I'm now wearing an arm brace for 12 weeks.
I plan on going back up the trail this weekend with my buddy to retrieve my Mongoose and take it home. Wait a second.......!?!?! SEEEEEEETH!!!

Hey Seth, thanks for picking the bike from the forest. I don't understand why some people gave 👎 to this video. I think you did something good for the Environment and I know Mother Nature also appreciate it. Keep the good work! 🤘😎
Until the poor guy heals and returns to look for his bike he hid in the woods...
Rekt😂 but a nice Canadian rek, like a sorry I kicked your knee in aye?

@@SethsBikeHacks Part of the problem is the need to make everything 'safe' and everybody obsessing over having their bikes to the same standard as professional racers. That bike was probably good enough to ride a mile or 2 across town to somebody, even better because you don't worry about it getting stolen
I’m glad I found this channel. It’s so awesome. I had a similar bike back in 2001. It actually got me into the bike scene.

That bike can be easily sold here where I live, for around $70. Easily.
Seriously. I don't know what Seth was thinking. I'm a broke college student and I ride a bike worth $10. I would kill for that bike.
skeptic moderate where you at? If you’re close enough to me I’ll take you something.
Seth knows its not so safe to ride that bike with those wheels. so i think this is why he didnt sell it as it is. For somebody with little bicycle knowledge it could be dangerous
I think he didn't want to be responsible for anyone riding a bike that dangerous.
I know this is made for fun but it didn't have to end this way 😀🚴
Lovely Fieldrepair :D Thanks for that Video greetings from germany - Biking since the 90s :)
We all know Seth found it fun to “take apart” (destroy) the bike
I just realised how much seth respects nature👌👌
Except for the fact that he scrapped the bike instead of fixing it up for someone to use (you know, for someone to get healthy/exercise)... and also the gas he used driving to/from the scarper to get rid of the scrap metal, which will likely be put into an aluminium or steel smelter (which are not environmentally friendly to say the least). Google "smelter environmental pollutants". Here, I did it for you.
"Some facilities that carry out metal and smelting processes are known to emit high quantities of air pollutants such as hydrogen fluoride, sulfur dioxide, oxides of nitrogen, offensive and noxious smoke fumes, vapors, gases, and other toxins."
Yep, he really respects the environment.
