That last tip requires a MASSIVE asterisk. There are few situations where its advantageous to use your ult and lose it going into a team fight. Zenyatta's ult is one of the best support ults in the game and takes a good bit of time to charge.

Why do you sometimes melee to cancel a charged shot? Even if there is nobody there, wouldn't it ultimately be better to try a shot?

• Egg It’s much faster to cancel a shot with melee, then set up another if you notice there’s nobody there. Less endlag = better. Especially at the highest levels where every second counts!

First of all, if you shoot it gives away your position. Second of all, the melee is an animation cancel that allows you to start charging up a new volley quicker (that extra ball saved me many times from doomfists and tracers).
