LT had NFL caliber receivers and running back his sophomore year and produced enough to be talked about being 1st rounder. Last two years he had no help from receivers and running back, not to mention no protection from OL, and the stats reflect that lack of support. Many of his interceptions were due to that lack of offense, throwing up desperation passes on 3rd/4th and long. Not to mention the inexperienced receivers tipping the ball to opposing DBs.
WHAT IN GODS NAME DID I JUST WATCH?!! I DON'T MAKE EARLY PREDICTIONS BUT I AM 90% Sure he will be a starter in the NFL. HE THROWS THE PRETTIEST DEEP SEAM BALL I'VE EVER SEEN IN MY GOT DAMN LIFE
I’ll be the first to admit I was very critical of Logan in his VT career, just in 2012 and 2013, and I regret that to this day. Looking back, none of that was his fault. First of all, he should have never been a quarterback. Had the coaching staff recruited more viable options at quarterback than Mark Leal, Ricardo Young, and Juju Clayton, Logan would have played tight end. He did the unselfish thing and played quarterback. Furthermore, he didn’t have very good receivers in his final two seasons. Jarrett Boykin and Danny Coale were excellent in 2011 and held Marcus Davis accountable. In 2012, Davis was supposed to be the leader of that group and wasn’t that. Everyone remembers his blocking efforts. His best receiver that year was former track athlete Corey Fuller. In 2013, his best options were Willie Byrn and freshman Josh Stanford who didn’t even finish his career at VT. The running game and offensive line was also atrocious after 2011, so Logan had to be a battering ram. It’s tough to be effective as a quarterback when you’re getting hit 20 times a game. I’m glad he has succeeded in the NFL at the position he was meant to play. He had an all-pro year with Washington this season, and I expect him to continue that. He’s a good route runner, blocker, and catcher. Much love for Logan.
Easily the best QB in this years draft class. Haven't seen anyone as calm in the pocket like this guy, but also is big enough to run someone over with some speed. The arm is big and mainly accurate. Destroyed the Texans defense, in preseason and can only hope for more. With BA and Palmer (a veteran with some experience) to learn behind, is gonna amazing. Couldn't have landed anywhere else better.
Great pick by the Cardinals! Logan Thomas isn't a guy to get drafted and just become a backup QB. He has the attitude to come in, get coached up, and win games. The guy can throw and is already working on solving his accuracy issues. Before it is over Thomas will be a starting NFL caliber QB.
hell yeah man, he is inconsistent but when he is good he is better than anyone I have seen. His arm is amazing, those long passes he didnt even have to wind up, he just threw it like it was a 10 yard pass. One minute he is trucking a defender, the next he is breaking their ankles with a juke. and oh btw, Tom Brady got drafted in the 7th round....not that im comparing them, but in a few years he could be just like him
Reggie Arthur He looked like he should've been the #1 overall pick last week against the Texans.Oddly enough, he looked very accurate. He's down in Arizona with a couple of well respected QB gurus in Tom Moore and Bruce Arians. If they can tweak his mechanics enough to make him a more accurate passer..HOLY SHIT.This guy could be one helluva QB
sucks to see he couldn't be a starter... thought he had great talent and potential... I'm from Arizona so when I saw the cardinals drafted him... I was happy till they released him... then he was on giants practice squad which happens to be my team... but still glad he was able to make it even with the position change
I never saw a player fall off like Logan. His first year as a starter he was project as a top 10 pick. He lost Danny and other weapons but still. Love the kid and glad he got a shot.
Damn he has a cannon for an arm. I could see why BA picked him. Dude is big too, bruce and moore will get him to become the qb they invison him to be. GO CARDS!!!!
Seahawks fan here. I have no idea why Arizona didn't start this dude. He has a cannon arm and can run like a tank. Very, very surprised at Arians for choosing Lindley over him.
Late reply on this, but the kid wasn't ready. Like others have said, he's the future of the franchise, why spook him out of starting again? Lindley was is and will always be a piece of trash.
Upside he's another Roethlisberger if it work's out. He will have plenty of protection Arian's is all about that, strong, strong arm. Downside he is a QB sneak type, really not a downside at 6'6 248 with 4.61 40!!! Good luck finding fault with that backup. He's a Giant step for the cards when you consider Lindley. Arians has upgraded all positions the Cards lost. They beat down seattle a few games before the end of the year and seattle beat down the broncos now that he is settled with reinforcements it will be like the U.S vs Iraq
Just straight knocked Lamarcus Joyner (early 2nd round pick in last year's draft) back like 5 yards. Arm strength and accuracy is solid. He can ball man. Fuck are people complaining about, he is a solid starter or backup (for now) for the very shitty Arizona Cardinals. He's no pocket passer but as a mobile QB, just a couple years and he'll be right there with Wilson and I think he's already very close to Kaepernick.
Well very shitty Arizona Cardinals offense at least. I love the team but they aren't going to go deep into the playoffs with the current qb and offense. 10 and 6 is a solid record no doubt but a 13 and 3 team and going deep in the playoffs is a far shot until they improve this offense. I said 3 weeks ago before seeing this guy in preseason he looked like the savoir of this offense. Now, after seeing him in preseason so far, holy shit, he really will be. So good already.
I'm so very torn about Logan Thomas. He would occasionally play lights out and at those times he was one of the best qb's VT's ever had. But most of the time he made poor decisions and made silly mistakes. My opinion of him isn't helped by the fact that these last 2 seasons have been miserable. Granted not completely his fault seeing as we had no running game this past year and lost a ton of depth the year before. But doesn't do much to improve my opinion of him. I'm glad to get a change under helm. Hopefully this will be a better year.
In addition to having no running game, he also had little talent at the wide receiver position. I was talking to a buddy of mine that goes to Alabama, and he said he wouldve liked to have seen what Logan couldve done had he had the kind of talent McCarron had at his disposal. I'm not saying Logan didn't have his weaknesses, because he certainly did; but you also have to keep in mind that he had very little to work with his last 2 seasons. There is a reason why he was considered a top 5 draft pick after his sophomore season.
Many ridiculed me when I said VT would miss LT3 this year. Well I certainly believe that we would've won a few more games with him. That being said, if Brewer can be protected better in 2015, I like what he can do. I'm a Giants fan when it comes to the NFL, but I hope for the best for all the Hokies in the League. If Arians can polish up Logan Thomas, I think Arizona will really have itself one helluva QB over the next few years.
At some point a team needs to sign him behind a vet qb and let him learn. he is the all time leading passer at VT and has all the athletic ability. all he needs is a great mind to teach him the ways.
sickening watching this AFTER yesterdays loss to the giants...just as I suspected, dude could've run the read option/wildcat for our 2 point play...he's a load with a bit more athleticism than I realized. They did try a wildcat earlier in the game with him yesterday so i guess that's a start...they need to look into this MORE. AND he can throw the living daylights out of the ball too...damn, what a cannon! Short yardage with him at qb looks unstoppable.
Welcome to Detroit my guy. I see what OC Darrell Bevell is doing. This offense will be just as unpredictable as NO with Sean Payton using his other QB on redirection plays. Uh oh, this ain't the SOL....plus bruh can stretch the field.
Ugh...while it's true that he didn't have the same kind of talent around in 12' or 13', I can't get over the fact that he did cost us a few games with his erratic play.
Wow...this dude look legit unsure how they rail roaded him!!! Hopefully Matt Patricia find a good place on our offense for him or trick plays!! Go Lions
I know I'm not a scout or anything, but regardless of the completion he faced in college, I can't help but think the Cardinals just got a major steal. These throws are beautiful and on the money. Plus out of the video being shown, he prefers to throw it first rather than run it. I'm definitely going to be watching this kid. We might be looking at the future of the Cardinals franchise.
His first year as a starter was the best QB play Tech has ever had in a single season
Michael Vick died ig
Now that he's a TE playing for Detroit as of 2019. Its like grabbing a great depth player for 2 positions holy cow
Logan Thomas is the emergency QB.
Now he’s playing as a TE for the Washington Football Team in 2020. Crazy...
@@end9221 now he threw a dime to Mclaurin today

Spot on assessment.
Crazy to think he plays TE In the league now
Was a beast on NCAA 14
Hell yeah. I like trucking defenders with him😂😂😂
That was fun to watch
my goodness could you imagine if we had justin fuente back when logan thomas was around? the qb power would have been ridiculous!
Damn I'm not a cardinals fan but I really like how this guy plays I hope he has a great career
not a QB anymore but a great TE for washington
Was playing Madden and realized I'd never actually seen him play. Dude was awesome. Wonder why he hasn't made any noise in the league yet?
What a cannon. He could have been a nfl QB if he wanted

Terrell Price he's a tight end now lol
oof
This didn't age well lol
@@hfr8343 He's the starting Tight End for the Washington Football Team, just as we all predicted

Logan Thomas...the future franchise qb of the arizona cardinals. This video makes me very excited for the future
he needs to start in the play offs give AZ a chance

Uh, no.
These are all the clips of the "Good" Logan. Not really the complete picture. I wish him luck as a TE

Third and Logan, baby!
Those poor safeties!!! Especially the ones who stepped up to tackle him head on. Those were the days.
Dude is a beast!!
We will mold him to the player we need him to be. Go card's!
Our family has a history of great athletes!

This did not age well lol.
He just did a trick play for Washington
I know this is a highlight but man he was spinning that thing. Weird to see him as a tight end.
Yea, I was thinking the same thing, He throws a nice tight spiral.
Seahawks fan here. I have no idea why Arizona didn't start this dude. He has a cannon arm and can run like a tank. Very, very surprised at Arians for choosing Lindley over him.

This highlight reel makes Logan Thomas look like he should be the #1 overall pick, but anyone who's watched him knows this is not the case.
welcome to Miami..could be amazing in Bill Lazor O read option
At some point a team needs to sign him behind a vet qb and let him learn. he is the all time leading passer at VT and has all the athletic ability. all he needs is a great mind to teach him the ways.
josh mcdonald he's a journeyman tight end for the bills... it's over smh
Who’s here because he might become the qb for the football team
sickening watching this AFTER yesterdays loss to the giants...just as I suspected, dude could've run the read option/wildcat for our 2 point play...he's a load with a bit more athleticism than I realized. The way he throws kind of reminds me of Jay Cutler.
Whos here bc of chris collinsworth
I forgot about the tight windows he fit the football in.
7:55
he is a TE for the Arizona Cardinals
you mean qb? he's starting next sunday
welcome to Miami. nice backup for the future
Damn he can throw
Please get rid of Moore as the Miami backup QB... this is a big upgrade.

Ballin TE 🖕🏾😂
He had a throw at the redskins field now he plays for them
He played te at tech at least once before he became the starter. Freshman year. It was at home.
Isaiah Ford Highlights on my page! Go Hokies
One thing left out was LT's TD catch from Tyrod against Wake Forest.
Im here after Thanksgiving
I bet he's glad he probably never has to run an option play again 😂😂
if he makes miami roster, then he might..
Damn that ball comes out easy
Ugh...while it's true that he didn't have the same kind of talent around in 12' or 13', I can't get over the fact that he did cost us a few games with his erratic play.
That song at 3:47 was awful, it made me wish I didn't have ears
Give him two years, dynasty
At TE
Logan up the middle made me feel sorry for some defenders!!!!
Better QB that Taylor Heinicke
LT3 is ledgend
Wow...this dude look legit unsure how they rail roaded him!!! Hopefully Matt Patricia find a good place on our offense for him or trick plays!!
Go Lions
When a designed run play was used with him he would just hurt people
After he went to that "qb guru" he got all messed up.
Know a top ten te in the nfl
Let's see if B.A. and Tom Moore can turn this guy into a B.A. I hope so! Welcome to the Bird-Gang.
Damn we could use him at qb Instead of te
Don't think he will start at the NFL level, and if he does I think he will have Tyrrell Pryor type of succes.
Reminds me of Colin Kapernick!
Kapernick didn't throw as many interceptions in college as this Thomas dude though, so we will see.
Kasumi Goto he had much better TD/INT ratio when he had good receivers and running back, who left for NFL after his sophomore year.
eh, stopped watching at 4:37
Not impressed? Really. Where's your scouting video?
Josh Carter meant the choice of music could have been better at that point, that song sucked lol. enjoyed the vid up to that point
Wtf😂 Scoring 70 yard TDS with his legs.
Arians is brilliant two teams two winning records mo money you don't know nothing
like if the cardinals should start him
reminds ke of tim tebow
Cannon
