It's the c3's instrument cluster that spoils the car for me 😅. I mean, even some base model scooters have got a better instrument cluster than that 🤷♂️.
Both hae 3 Cyl, 1.2 L engines and yet the way they drive is completely different. The C3 is much smoother and revs more freely. Plus is more refined too. The Punch feels underpowered.
Extended hatchbacks with some modified bumpers and extra ground clearance doesn't justify itself as an 'SUV' 🤣🤣🤣 My vote for C3 though, because of it's aggressive pricing...
i have a theory, remember so many articles about a TATA Nexon flipping over and passengers not dying because of its "build quality" ? i think what we should question is why only TATA Nexons are flipping over every week and not some other raised crossovers? maybe because 200+mm ground clearance is a disadvantage and it's prone to flip?
Ford, are you listening, this is the 3rd time in the past few weeks that automotive journalists are comparing your cars to the present day competition which shows what good products you guys are offering. My vote for the C3 110 any day.
The Tata Punch is a good car. Very safe and very complete in its own way. The C3 would've been great with a better unit behind the steering wheel, better interiors and larger alloys. The Punch is the nicer car inside and overall as well. More VFM. I personally like the Ignis due to its 1.2L four pot. A fully loaded Ignis with better interiors, 4 Airbags, sunroof, 4 Star GNCAP rating and good AT transmission should be something MSIL should have thought about since 2018.
Citroen should launch a new puretech 82 variant with an AMT and features like electrically adjustable/foldable ORVM's, manually adjustable IRVM, rear window washer and defogger, a proper digital instrument with tacometer, adjustable headrests for either front seats or rear seats or both. A reversing camera and automatic climate control would be nice to have but not a necessity. Then they should price it close to Punch. Then it would be surely able to eat into Punche's sale numbers. They could do the same for the turbo variants to make it compete against the top turbo variants of the Kiger and Magnite.
Just give Citreon C3 few basic features like Rear Adjustable Headrest, Rear defogger and wiper, Rear Parking Camera and Adjustable IRVM Mirror for Night Driving. It will surely be a hit.
Safety is not a bragging right, its a mandatory requirement for passenger safety and kudos to Tata. Please dont undermine safety in your videos. This is general trend in all autocar videos. Dont be scared about upsetting manufacturers for calling out their gaps.
I wish Citroen launches a top spec version with a tachometer/better instrument cluster, rear wiper/defogger and adjustable headrests. Alloys are available as an accessory so that’s fine.
I Strongly recommend C3. Bcoz, Of it's Fresh styling. And it's powerful engine. And more over, it's a Stellantis product. And uses PEUGEOT Engines. And 2023 C3 with. Updates has also been Spied. If CITROEN increases Service and Sales. Then, Nothing will beat it.
Just drove a friend's Punch last weekend here in Goa and I must say I loved the car but that wheezy engine is just not torquey enough for Goan roads. It's fine if I travel to the nearby beaches up North, but travelling with even one passenger to the isolated beaches of the South reveals how underpowered the engine is. Now if they make an EV version, I'm gunning it straight for the nearest Tata showroom.
Tata should by now should have offered a turbo version ( from Altroz) by now ..... a good product is lacking a punchy engine. It maybe due to their experience with lesser Altroz turbo in demand ...... and yes, honestly C3 looks slightly better from the front side ( although punch has a better headlight setup , with projector lamps )
I own a top spec tata punch creative. I really don't understand what's the big fuss about the engine being underpowered. I previously owned chevy aveo uva for 10yrs. The punch feels much more powerful and is more than enough for me. Had crossed 130kmph mark on the expressway, could have gone more though.
Citroen missed a great opportunity by cost cutting even the most basic things like door handle and center placed rear power windows. Alto/Celerio does the same and now citroen which doesn't send a good message to new buyers and the most important that instrument cluster no words to explain. Feels like Citroen thinks Indians are fools and don't need or understand the basic things.
C3 is actually a very good offering if, the only concern is that it's new to the market. For the price what you are getting is a good deal. A better comparison will be with the Magnite and Kiger. Instrument cluster should never be a deciding factor in that segment. As a matter of fact, what do you want to see in those things anyway, a part from the basic readings, an animated car logo?
C3 should have a better meter console, pull type door handles, power adjustable orvms ,rear wiper....and the list goes on.... reviewers told that the company conducted surveys in India and the feed back they got was this... don't know the where the survey team surveyed( above 50 club, 1950's collage reunion,or in rural areas of india ,may be) .. Now punch, old school( i think older than ratan sir himself) infotainment system, state of the art good for nothing engine, damn service centres, quality issues on some vehicles....😂
It's quite surprising to see that an established European car manufacturer has conveniently ignored a very basic safety feature i.e an adjustable headrest. And the ergonomics itself is quite weird , first with the worst speedometer one can lay their eyes on and second, the rear window switches located as the name says, at the rear. I honestly can't understand why one should be putting their money on such products even if it's got a good ride and a well tuned suspension. If they don't bother manufacturing a well balanced product, I think they'll be in India only for exports and deservingly so.
C3 Turbo a best VfM product👍 Competes with Micro SUV 😷 Punch Hatchback Tiago Swift i10nios Premium Hatch altroz Baleno i20 4m SUV 😷 Magnite Kiger Nexon Brezza Sonet Venue
I don't know why such a big deal is made about the Revotron 1.2 engine smoothness. It is a good unit that does its job well enough for most of the urban users. Other OEM engines in equivalent class may feel smoother, but there isn't a day and night difference, frankly speaking. Now, you can put a 90 BHP engine on a 850kg body and make it feel like a rocket, but no one is going to enjoy a ride in that rocket.
yep, same happens with all Indian manufacturers sadly they compromise on built quality with ease.. I don't know how long they will ride on the "Indian company" train or people needs to get their hands on some Japanese and Korean cars to feel some quality
Regardless of what the reviewers say the three cylinder engine are quite bad. They don't give you the feeling a car is supposed to. They are not smooth. The amt only makes it worse. I drove the punch, kiger and sonnet. Did not like any. Kiger being the worst build. The test drive car was only 10k kms on meter but the entire car was rattling. The salesman tried to convince us the car is in this condition because it's a test car. But the jazz test drive car had 30k kms on meter and did not have any rattling noise anywhere and it gives proper 4 cylinder engine. I booked the jazz but it will be stopped production soon
I liked the reference to Ford when you were talking of driving and handling dynamics. I guess that's really some tall benchmark there left back. So glad i dont own a Tata. They have a long way to mature. Till then they will always be feature rich.
I dont know who decided to launch c3 with these features. Citroen should dismiss him, he actually killed a car that has high potential in Indian market. Tata punch with that snail engine is selling really good numbers. People need premium features, they are ready to pay extra. Only the base variant and middle needed to be aggressive.top end can be expensive. Electrically foldable mirror, door handles, adjustable headrest, good looking meter console with tachometer, auto ac, pushbutton start, driver seat with height adjust, cruise control etc is a must on top end variant.
Citroen sells in meager fraction number of what the Punch sells. The base model is 7.3otr and Punch is still 6.95otr. I'm going for c3 testdrive tomorrow, hope the base model is as good as punch pure.
Citroen has negligible presence and the interiors look extremely cheap. Tata Punch provides the best value for money. Customers at these price point don't generally seek F1 level performance. What's more important is stability, safety n comfort. In all these aspects Tata has nearly obliterated all the competition.
Both have equal number of pros and cons. But still, I feel Tata Punch is more practical and better looking. But that engine and the years old entertainment system needs to go.
Please dont remind about Ford.... Its so hard to keep thinking that something like that happened in a market like India..... Blames both to be on the consumers (not recognizing the brand dna but fell prey to gimmicks) as well as on Ford themselves (for not updating themselves to changing market needs)..... Shame
The punch in the lower versions just seems to lack the punch and Citroen is way too basic to compete with it. In India, looks sell and Citroen truly fails to impress with it's interiors.

It's the c3's instrument cluster that spoils the car for me 😅. I mean, even some base model scooters have got a better instrument cluster than that 🤷♂️.
Ola S1 pro bike is raising the hand and saying atleast i have only one thing good thats my Console😌
Yeah if not digital tat is for cost cutting..analog could have far better choice
Both hae 3 Cyl, 1.2 L engines and yet the way they drive is completely different. The C3 is much smoother and revs more freely. Plus is more refined too. The Punch feels underpowered.
Ironic how Tata Punch has the least engine punch
Yeah lol
Desh ka Loha hai par Jaan nahi hai...
Finally they said it, c3 is more affordable at this price point and better engineered too❤
Intro Editor needs to be given a raise!
I prefer the Citroen C3 over punch. Loved the puretech turbo, way refined and has the basics covered good. Hence booked the puretech turbo.
Great Intro shots, and nice camerawork... :)
Extended hatchbacks with some modified bumpers and extra ground clearance doesn't justify itself as an 'SUV' 🤣🤣🤣 My vote for C3 though, because of it's aggressive pricing...
and great turbo engine ;)
They don't claim to be one... Citroen calls it a hatchback..
@@VarunSrinivas Tata claims it to be one tho
i have a theory, remember so many articles about a TATA Nexon flipping over and passengers not dying because of its "build quality" ? i think what we should question is why only TATA Nexons are flipping over every week and not some other raised crossovers? maybe because 200+mm ground clearance is a disadvantage and it's prone to flip?
Aggressive pricing with cost cutting

Cost cutting is also a thing.
Torque converter automatic will be launched next year. The leaked images shows rear viper etc.
An AMT is the worst Citroen can do, it has to be a very good CVT. If possible a TC , but that would be too expensive
Just give Citreon C3 few basic features like Rear Adjustable Headrest, Rear defogger and wiper, Rear Parking Camera and Adjustable IRVM Mirror for Night Driving. It will surely be a hit.
C3 with turbo engine and Tata Seats and Dashboard design is what I want...
Under 7L🤣
Wawawa bete
Nothing comes close to the sheer value and fun of c3 turbo.
I would pick an ignis instead. Even the zeta ignis is quite value for money around 7.5 lakhs onroad.
Safety is not a bragging right, its a mandatory requirement for passenger safety and kudos to Tata. Please dont undermine safety in your videos. This is general trend in all autocar videos. Dont be scared about upsetting manufacturers for calling out their gaps.

C3 gives the Same old school experience as VW Polo!

The video intro editing is awesome
Citroen should understand that when they have launched a budget car they should have more service centres
Powered mirrors, adjustable head rest would have made C3 little better
Citroen missed a great opportunity by cost cutting even the most basic things like door handle and center placed rear power windows. Alto/Celerio does the same and now citroen which doesn't send a good message to new buyers and the most important that instrument cluster no words to explain. Now punch, old school( i think older than ratan sir himself) infotainment system, state of the art good for nothing engine, damn service centres, quality issues on some vehicles....😂
Tata should develop all new generation engines. It's high time, they can't attract people with design and safety ratings.
Tata punch has better design and drivability. Only thing the punch lacks is punch 😂
It's quite surprising to see that an established European car manufacturer has conveniently ignored a very basic safety feature i.e an adjustable headrest. Pls make a comparison of breeza 2022 vs nexon pls
C3 Turbo a best VfM product👍
Competes with
Micro SUV 😷 Punch
Hatchback Tiago Swift i10nios
Premium Hatch altroz Baleno i20
4m SUV 😷 Magnite Kiger Nexon Brezza Sonet Venue
I have both Cars❤ Both Are Amazing
Great video 👏
Covers all the points
0:45 the tata clearly needs a diaper.
I am intresting in Citron C3 Automatic.
I'll pick C3
I owned c3 ride and comport is super
I don't know why such a big deal is made about the Revotron 1.2 engine smoothness. It is a good unit that does its job well enough for most of the urban users. Exactly!..I never felt the need of a more refined engine in my Nexon, The NVH is okay and the performance is adequate.
Great verdict, really spot on!
Add turbo to punch and c3's game is over.
9:55 the start/stop button in the tata punch got chipped off
yep, same happens with all Indian manufacturers sadly they compromise on built quality with ease.. I don't know how long they will ride on the "Indian company" train or people needs to get their hands on some Japanese and Korean cars to feel some quality
Only in lower models
The start stop button is there on the upper variants of Tata Punch, accomplished and creative to be precise
What about the built quality of C3?
Regardless of what the reviewers say the three cylinder engine are quite bad. They don't give you the feeling a car is supposed to. They are not smooth. The amt only makes it worse. Upcoming C3 with additional features will be more likable
i will go for TATA punch bcz its more practical and better maintained .
C3 is best ❤️
Going to wager on Citroens after sales service rather than Tata
*Well judged!!*
If refinement is your priority, avoid Tata 3 cylinder Engine.
Citroen c3 🔥🔥🔥
I wish punch would have a punch factor in its engine
Citroen 1.2 turbo is best option
I liked the reference to Ford when you were talking of driving and handling dynamics. I guess that's really some tall benchmark there left back. So glad i dont own a Tata. They have a long way to mature. Till then they will always be feature rich.
The C3's seats brings down the interior quality to a M800 level. Cheap!!
Please Latest C3 vs punch comper
Punch needs 100bhp and atleast 150nm of torque
If tata gives a turbo version of the punch, same as nexon, this will become a clean sweep.
The Ignis should have also been included in the Comparo. The Ignis is the same Segment as the Punch and C3.
Lol
I dont know who decided to launch c3 with these features. Citroen should dismiss him, he actually killed a car that has high potential in Indian market. Not having a taco is such a shame
Punch is the most rounded car with much needed features.. C3 is half baked in its current avatar..
Citroen sells in meager fraction number of what the Punch sells. The base model is 7.3otr and Punch is still 6.95otr. I'm going for c3 testdrive tomorrow, hope the base model is as good as punch pure.
C3 is far more superior 💪💪
here in India bicycles with high GC are also called SUV.... :)))
How do these two compare with the Ignis, a fellow small crossover-ized hatch?
Both are much more spacious and have much better ride and handling, while ignis has a better engine and is cheaper...
Citroen C3 is better❤️❤️❤️🔥🔥🔥
Tata has a very chassis , but the engines and steering need to beef up!!!
Even same with Tiago
No complaints with tata steering
Not c3, not punch go with nexon base xe for better value for your money
True
Where is the maruti Suzuki Ignis and Renault Kwid climber and mahindra kuv100
Hey nikhil! What's the liquid under the punch in some shots? Hope it wasn't coolant lol
Most probably its the AC water
Citroen has negligible presence and the interiors look extremely cheap. Tata Punch provides the best value for money. Customers at these price point don't generally seek F1 level performance. What's more important is stability, safety n comfort. In all these aspects Tata has nearly obliterated all the competition.
why dont you compare it to the ignis
I like the C3 more than the Punch just because of the brand haha
Is citroen a monocoque body design?
Is punch's metal tougher than citroen?
Tata should now at least bring up a turbo version of Punch
Shall i wait for new hyundai mini suv or go with Tata punch....what is the expected launch date of hyundai mini suv ?
Startup music?
Power comfort suspension better c3
Idk but I don't like to drive Petrol car 😅 coz I'm very much used to Diesel engine 😅
Pulsar P150 review?
real world range on punch?
my friend averaging only 9.
Intro song hi bta do koi
C3 is nice...
Punch looks THUMBS UP
drive THUMBS DOWN
Punch way more value for money than c3
Punch ka engine is lethargic
Tata punch🔥..
C3 is older model than Punch so it has its own standards, my opinion cannot be compared with Punch
Both have equal number of pros and cons. But still, I feel Tata Punch is more practical and better looking. But that engine and the years old entertainment system needs to go.
C3 obviously feels like a toy🧸 in front of PUNCH ✊ because i own it punch Adventure Ryhtm Pack white colour 😃
Lol
Please dont remind about Ford.... Its so hard to keep thinking that something like that happened in a market like India..... Blames both to be on the consumers (not recognizing the brand dna but fell prey to gimmicks) as well as on Ford themselves (for not updating themselves to changing market needs)..... Shame
C3 has less practical features than Punch
Tata❤
The punch in the lower versions just seems to lack the punch and Citroen is way too basic to compete with it. In India, looks sell and Citroen truly fails to impress with it's interiors.
Punch🔥🔥🔥
Safety TaTa 🔥🔥
c3 is best
