Hyundai and Kia will never miss the interior department game...TATA should take a note, Even on the Harrier or Safari, the interior is kinda like muted.
I bought PUNCH Accomplished AMT this August 2nd. Driven 1500 KM and happy with engine and overall performance Safety is the priority for me over features.. Even as per Auto car, Punch is best suited for me because 70-80 % of my driving is on Highways only.
I would let some features go just for the 5 star safety. Which is very impressive by the way considering the size of Punch. Scored more than Nexon and Altroz. But the cabin premium Huendai is the best. Huendai makes you feel like your money is well spent.
Drove both cars back to back . Found Exter better in refinement, suspension and ease driving. Punch is spacious but not refined and many design glitches .
Punch: "I am safe." Exter: "A vehicle is safest when it's not prone to random acts of rebellion in the middle of nowhere." Punch: "I'm an NCAP 5-star!" Exter: "Oh, really? Show me your six-pack...of airbags, that is. How did you even qualify?" Punch: "I have a strong body." Exter: "Well, my crumple zones and bumpers are here to keep the cabin cozy. Safety isn't just about a tough metal shell; if it were, a tractor would be the safest car on the road. By the way, have you experienced the smooth jazz of my door closing/opening routine?" Punch: "I have bigger tires!" Exter: "Yeah, but we're not auditioning for off-road rallies here. We're city slickers, focused on convenience and peace of mind." Punch: "My name has 'puch' in it!" Exter: "Yeah, and your driving lacks that 'puch' too, if you know what I mean. Meanwhile, have you felt the serene luxury of my cabin? Try it out." Remember, looks are subjective. Some folks love Punch's style, others dig Exter's vibe. But when it comes down to it, reliability and ease of ownership are the real head-turners. ...And if you're dreaming of hitting 140 km/hr, better start polishing that Mercedes badge or be ready to dig deep into your pockets. Itne paise mein itna he milega!
When I saw the first Exter, I was taken aback by the looks, yet after a meticulous study, the design became plain too fast. The Punch still looks fresh.
Tata Punch gives much more confidence while driving in triple digit speed on highways compare to Exter, Tata Punch Staring feel and feedback are quite accurate too (feels like driving a bigger SUV) and Exter in based on NIOS platform, and we all know about the crash test rating of NIOS on the other hand Tata Punch acquires much more high safety rating then any Hyundai cars in India.
Such types of car are usually used within the city and driven at low speeds, so low speed ride comfort is more important, only in rare situations one will drive such cars at 120. Hyundai seems to be a better option.
Onwed the punch n my father just bought the exter... I must say interior wise the exter win... Driving experience the punch feel much better and at higher speed it feels much stable.... Talking about the build quality Tata punch wins.... The smaller tyre of exter can be felt on bad road.... Besides upgrading to 16inches looks impossible due to space constraints
I drive the Tata punch adventure and I also test ride the new exter And I would say in terms of ride and handling I prefer punch but exter comes with loaded features and smooother engine ….
PUNCH PROS: Ride Quality High Stance Safety Better Sheet Metal (less dents) SUV Look music system Ingress/egress CONS: Poor fit/finish NVH 3 cylinder engine Body Roll EXTER PROS: Better peace of mind in service Smooth Engine Premium feel CONS: Expensive service cost Low Approach angle Small tyres low suspension travel PUNCH WINS
my friend has a punch, and whenever we are out, it's me behind the wheels. Ride comfort is quite decent, especially coming from Freestyle, like the way it absorbs bumps and dents, as well as how we don't roll as much on sharp corners, curvy roads here in the hills. However, it is not quite there compared to the 96PS Freestyle when it comes to power, specially on the uphill inclines, but it is still very doable. one caveat though, is when parking at an inclined road, where the inclination is more, the handbrake alone could not hold it and we had to use the gear to help, which is not an ideal solution. I asked him if he got it checked at the service center, they said the weight was a bit too much for the handbrake! I guess that's not the best answer, especially from a 5 star rated car. I wonder if anyone, from the hills, face such issue. And as for Exter, the fixed headrest, that too at the front, is a deal breaker for me. but i believe, as it is based on the i10 nios, the efficiency would be good, not necessarily the NCAP rating.
Punch is updated with not only a sunroof that to a little bigger than Hyundai but with front armrests which is not their in exter and exter has a very bad situation of its shockers at back it dips down a lot when seated with 3 people and if luggage is added it touches some obstacles as well punch has bigger wheels.
The fact that his steering wheel in the punch is slightly turned to the left almost all the way including on straight roads, says a lot about Tata's consistency.
Punch is a solid tank to drive....while on highway a stray cattle dashed into my punch...only damage was cover of outer rear view mirror got damaged....the front door which absorbed the impact nothing happened...yes I was responsible enough to check the condition of the cattle and by the grace of God the animal was alright...
Nice comparison 👍 Suzuki should say sayonara to Ignis from Nexa and replace it with Zen, i.e. Swift based Micro SUV to compete with Punch & Exter, with Swift's dimensions and interiors + following features: Punch like front Armrest Rear Armrest & Rear AC Vents from Dzire If possible sunroof & 4 ⭐ BNCAP rating
Just a generic question, not specific to this post. Which 4 wheelers are most effective in providing rear realistic mirror view particularly in rainy seasons when Most of your side glasses need manual intervention to clear the view like wiping the mirrors
Just some raised hatchbacks with some tall and muscular looks doesn't justify itself as an SUV, lol 😂 I don't know why, this segment doesn't even make sense for me.. I would rather go for a premium hatch like Altroz or i20 😅❤ My opinion can be subjective though 🙏🙏🙏
Hyundai exter engine have 4 cylinder, which is definitely better than 3 cylinder engine from punch but exter & punch mileage are same Regarding safely, Punch is better than exter. Regarding looks & finishing, exter is better than punch. Regarding suspension, Punch is better than exter. Most important thing, Every buyer should keep in mind, that is Post sales & service, in this matter, Hyundai has good reputation but Tata have very bed reputation.
The Exter has so much more potential. It should be stretched to 3999mm so that it could offer 3rd row seating. Hyundai should borrow their 1 liter, 3 cylinder mild hybrid CVT powerplant from UK and use it in this car. Since India is so used to AMT & it's shuddering, Hyundai's mild hybrid power-plant can ditch the torque converter pairing the ICE to the CVT & introduce Direct Drive CVT technology.
I don't like the softer sprung suspension on Exter. yeah it tackles broken roads effectively but it means to bottom out when fully loaded...like any othe Hyundai smaller cars.
No hate but Punch is plain ugly. Tail lamps are hideous and it seems they were trying to save paint by covering half of the vehicle with cladding. 🤦♂️
New word terminology
1. Hatchback = nanoSUV
2. BICYCLE = PICOSUV

Exter 4 cylinder bigger boot, better interior and 6 airbags....Better looking I'll chose Exter anytime.
Exter with fixed head rest for the driver is a thing hard to digest. Drivers comfort and seating is far better on punch
Exter has the new SUV design philosophy of Hyundai. It looks similar to the Santa Fe which was showcased in Mexico during the 1st week of August.
Punch: "I am safe."
Exter: "A vehicle is safest when it's not prone to random acts of rebellion in the middle of nowhere."
Punch: "I'm an NCAP 5-star!"
Exter: "Oh, really? Show me your six-pack...of airbags, that is. How did you even qualify?"

For features,performance,refinement,reliability Hyundai Exter…
Just For Build Quality Punch..

Literally everyone says the punch is underpowered and here you're saying punch is better than Hyundai in terms of drivability
Exter seroiusly gives me skoda yeti vibes.
I drive the Tata punch adventure and I also test ride the new exter

Suzuki says Ignis is also in this "Micro SUV" segment.

Punch is ruler in this segment nd it will continue to rule...... It has simply made itself a sub brand of Tata......
Externally tata wins. Internally, Hyundai
Punch deserve my money..im planning to buy punch ev after 2 yr

Hyundai Exter packs a Punch. Better Engine, Better Gearbox and lots of features
The fact that his steering wheel in the punch is slightly turned to the left almost all the way including on straight roads, says a lot about Tata's consistency.
We Booked Exter , i tried to convince myself to book punch but tata's QC would not let that happen
Drive quality of Tata is way superior than anything in it's segment.
Exter looks ugly when I saw it on roads. One of the compromised looking car from Hyundai. This won’t sell at all sure
Any day Punch , the road presence is unmatched, exter is nowhere near in terms of Built quality and its Macho presence
Tata Punch any day...
safety over features..
I am not interested in either the Exter or the Punch but curious to know what Maruti's response would be and how quick.
Pls call out which version is shown...and try to do comparison with base variant too
Team exter like 👍
Team Punch Comment.
🎉
Tata Punch has more SUVsh look. 👍🏼❤️
In terms of ride quality and experience, comfort and style. Citroen C3>Punch>Exter. Hands down
Anytime it will be the Punch! Be its futuristic smart design or the safety with the performance, Tata always will win the game!❤
Nice comparison 👍

Its time to up the game for punch with new facelift add new tweaks and adding important stuff like what Nexon some did 5-6 yeras ago.
Punch me front adjustable headrest he
Exter me front adjustable headrest nahihe
Unbiased review, well done.
Fronx 1.2 L manual topend vs Exter 1.2 L manual topend winner ?
Just a generic question, not specific to this post. Which 4 wheelers are most effective in providing rear realistic mirror view particularly in rainy seasons when Most of your side glasses need manual intervention to clear the view like wiping the mirrors
Global ncap safety ratings. hyundai exter 1star
Tata punch. 5 star
Exter 👍 Punch 👎
The 2024tata punch has everything that exter has compared to the 2021punch❤
My opinion is Exter
Exter 👍 ❤👌
Exter.!🔥
Exeter reminded me of the Getz from the rear!
Another solid review by Saumil.
Now I know road presence of punch is unrivalled
Punch looks and diRives better
Exter better car,4 cylinder,6 airbags,better interior,sun roof,bigger boot ,more features,better breaking
But the Punch can do a bit of offroading and hill climbs on bad roads
i am booking Punch tomorrow
Punch has no Punch while driving 😢
For ride quality anyday punch...

You guys clear all the confusions one may have buying a car
Exter Engine refinement is better+ features

exter wins comparision test, but punch wins peoples heart "TATA IS TATA"
sweet fantastic compression 😄😊💕💖
5 star safety beats features
Long story short: if you like some punch from your engine and less noise, peace of mind: go for exter...for everything else you have the punch
Hyundai exter engine have 4 cylinder, which is definitely better than 3 cylinder engine from punch but exter & punch mileage are same Regarding safely, Punch is better than exter. TATA PUNCH ALWAYS
Tatas engine refinement needs a lot of work.. That's one of the only concerns I have with the tata vehicles
The Exter has so much more potential. It should be stretched to 3999mm so that it could offer 3rd row seating. EXTER with more safety and features ❤
Punch is the choice
Which engine is better in terms of durability - tata punch or Hyundai Exter
Fine review but can we please stop calling these cars SUV ?
Exter is a no brainer.
Tata have better interior and exter have better exterior 😮
TATA PUNCH any day…..
Exter is NOT an SUV. Punch is an SUV.
EXTER ❤
Can you review Chandryan3’s hovercraft now 😉 #Chandrayan3
Just bought punch 🤛
It’s all about Safety Ratings…
To be practical punch is way ahead 👍
Tata punch best
Hyundai got the most creative interior
No hate but Punch is plain ugly. Tail lamps are hideous and it seems they were trying to save paint by covering half of the vehicle with cladding. 🤦♂️
Exter: Gimmick
Punch is 💯
The H-shaped headlight of exter is blunder in design I think
88hp? What horses did they use lol, if it reallly had anwhere close to that number it would never need 20 sec 0-100, that is the time of a ~60hp car.
Punch all day
To me exter is outright ugly it reminds me of 1st gen santro
Tata punch any day👊
Tata ❤
Tata punch looks better
the Exeter design more suited to tad larger C-SUV . . .
Everytime you go out with your car it should feel special or at least not ugly. Exter feels ugly though better than other Hyundais
Tata engine 1.2 litre needs to be replaced with a better one or at least a balancer shaft
