How to Eliminate "the Thrift Store Smell" & Smokey Odors from Clothing

- Have you ever purchased something from a thrift store or garage sale, and then later noticed it had a smokey smell? Well as you probably know, removing bad smells from clothing can be tricky especially from leather or wool items. In this video, I will share how to use activated carbon/charcoal to remove those hard to handle smells!!!

I bought some cheap black jeans a year ago but I'm still unable to wear it because of the chemical smell. Alse the black runs out when I wash them, any advice?

Never really tried it on leather but my go to for smell is straight Vodka in a spray bottle. Works amazing on wool but would maybe give it a shot on all the non leather areas?
Does it last or is it just a temporary fix?

I would think so....the Vodka will kill off smells and evaporate.

Shouldn't you pour the baking soda over the clothing? Thats what I did with my sneackers at least, after 24 hr iI vacuum cleaned them and then give them a final hand washing. Think ill try that on my woollen jacket
Clean the inside with your hands the lining that will help get it wet clean the plastic again

You shouldn't be so upset about leather, leather will have an smell to it that's normal, it's cleanned with Leather cleaning balms not charcoal, I have had an lot of leather s it just is like that, you could actually ruin it by doing that, just say it's leather and They can have it professional cleaned.all vintage leathers , jacket s and purses Carry and smell,it's not going to smell like clothes do ,big misunderstandings in that area, except if in the insides of the linning is useally were odor s come from.it can be cleaned. And what kind of Leather it is it, that's the key ,it is different kinds of Leather s!!!!. Bloodhounds noses??? You don't look old enough to have had a lot of leather!s just saying!!!
You sell on Posh Mark? Right? --- Just sell the leather jacket that already smells like cigarette smoke to a "smoker". Just forget all of the wasted time trying to get the cigarette smoke out -- just advertise that the leather jacket is for a "SMOKER"! And, "PLEASE, ONLY SMOKERS SHOULD BUY THIS JACKET" !!
