I saw an excellent example of a fake at the thrift store I work at today. The quality of the leather felt just a bit off though & it was missing the tag inside the bag. Other than that it was nearly indistinguishable from a real one.

I have a small dooney Burke that is authentic trying to sell

6:43 I have a vintage Dooney & Bourke but the tag has raveled to where it only shows the word Dooney. Is there still a way to find how old it is?

A lot of even great fakes forget to print dooney imprint on the little brass hardware button backs. STITCHING looks cheaper, the thread strength/distance/quality.

There’s such an abundance of baby items out there! I think it’s so important to spread this message to new moms. My first pregnancy was a twin pregnancy and I requested all “big-ticket” items be secondhand to 1) save money and 2) save the planet.

I definitely did this with my son’s infant stuff…I got lucky and a buyer bought a couples bundles 1 week then came back the next week and purchased everything I had left. Now that he is older I typically sell in 5 shirts or bottoms and then sets. Kids clothes are so lightweight you can normally ship 20-25 pieces for under 5 lbs

Thank you for advice. I feel much better now. I received a 2 star review on cleanliness on one item that was thoroughly washed & pressed before sending to the customer (it only sold for $5, lol). The customer said it was too dingy! You never know, maybe on the way through the postal route, it sat in a dingy place and that got all absorbed into the fabric. Next time, I will use plastic bags before packing. I did not see a link to respond to her review. She didn't request a refund.
