20m High Speed Landing Craft - Island Guardian

Island Guardian is a custom High Speed Landing Craft built for the Great Barrier Reef Joint Field Management Program.
The vessel will be instrumental in managing the world heritage listed Great Barrier Reef Marine Park and will perform a range of tasks including patrol operations, dive support operations, marine infrastructure installation and maintenance, and island park management.

In this case it's the QLD Government. Given how many islands there are in the parks it does make sense to have some landing capability. Especially around the Whitsunday/Great Barrier Reef marine parks.
